Santa Claus For REAL!

20131209-014442.jpg

Let me tell you a secret.  This weekend, mom had her iPhone unlocked and I was just looking at the pictures – yep that’s what I was doing – snorts looking a pictures.

I came across a person in her contacts that I couldn’t believe!  Mommy has the direct number to Santa Claus – thud piggy down.  So when the humans tell you that they know people that are important – it’s true.

I told Hemi, Mouse Girl and Houdini about this contact in mom’s iPhone.  They couldn’t believe it and thought it was a joke.  We called the number and put it on speaker phone.  OMP (oh my pig!).  All of our mouths fell open.  It really was Santa Claus.  We were all shocked.  Mommy really does know Santa.  We *have* to be good now.  What if she sends him pictures or calls him herself?

Just in case, I’m off to clean up my pig pen of a bedroom.  Hey, I gotta be on that good list this year.  I have a big stocking to fill!  And you still don’t believe?  Look what else I found on mom’s Facebook page – OMP!  Gotta run now.  My room needs cleaning 🙂

Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER my dear friends

((HOGS AND KISSES)) it’s a wonderful and joyous day!

I love Easter.  I love everything about it.  I love the fun.  I love the excitement.  I love the actual meaning of Easter.  I love it all!

Mom makes is so special for all of us.  Mom gave the purr things their little basket.  She was going to take a picture of it but too late – they got to it.  There was little pieces of grass everywhere from their straw basket.  They got cat treats, a bag of Iams – their favorite and a couple of play mice.  They were happy – more so for the basket and grass at first – snorts.  Silly purr things.

Dad loves his Angry Birds games so this year mom tried to decorate the eggs in their colors.  Didn’t turn out as good as last year but dad absolutely loved them.  Me, of course I favored the piggy one.  What more I favored was what was inside of the egg. Snorts – I do love my food.

And me?  You asked what did the Easter Bunny bring me?  ALL kinds of goodies.

20130312-101826.jpg

I got a yearly pot full of my special treats! I noticed last week that my big bucket was MIA (missing in action) here at the Hotel Thompson.  That Easter Bunny is sneaky.  He must have come in last week and took my bucket to fill up with all of these goodies.

Look in that bucket –

  • Animal crackers – yes the convenient size – snort.
  • Yellow squash and eggplant.   I love it chopped up and raw.
  • Carrots – look at the size of those master pieces!
  • Oranges and apples.
  • And my training raisins were in the bottom of the bucket.  I only get raisins when mom is teaching me new tricks.  I guess she’s up to training again.

YUMMY – this pig struck the gold mine!   I think personally the Easter Bunny likes me the best, don’t you?  But I won’t tell anyone if you don’t.

And we can’t forget about  rock clan – Benedict, Manny, Virginia, Princess Coralena and Rockelle.  Bashful is with his host family so I’m sure he won’t get left out.  But here at the Hotel Thompson, the Easter Bunny brought the rock clan what else but Rock Candy!

Everyone is having a blast on this special day.  I hope you and yours also have a spectacular Easter my friends!

Bacon and friends at the Hotel Thompson 🙂

Christmas Decorations and Santa Claus

20131209-014402.jpg Oh boy.  That human daddy of mine just digs himself deeper and deeper this time of year.  Mommy asked him to take out some decorations for Christmas.  Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think the leg lamp is exactly what mommy had in mind.  He tried to fight for it saying that it was a classic and came from the movie, “A Christmas Story“.  He continued by saying that if it was good enough for Ralphie’s dad then it should be good enough for him.  Way to go daddy.  You need a shovel to dig yourself deeper into the hole?

I just bet you that all mom heard was blah, blah, blah and blah. She was patient and she was kind.  She let him make arguments over the said leg lamp.

I don’t know about you but that’s the way moms seem to be.  They get quiet and listen while you dig the hole bigger and bigger.  Just, you know, letting you stumble over yourself.  I watched and tried not to snort because I knew it was coming.  She said, “Listen Ralphie, if I dared you to stick your tongue to the frozen pole, would you do that too because everyone else was doing it?”  She’s good.  The leg lamp was put back in the attic.

But you see, daddy doesn’t learn that easily.  Mom told him to put up the tree while she went out shopping.  For some reason, I just don’t think that this is what mommy was talking about.

Needless to say, mom was out for about an hour.  I know she thought she was going to come home to a tree… just a tad bit bigger than this I’m guessing.

Let’s just say that daddy was batting two for two this weekend.  So, our tree and decorations really didn’t get worked on like I thought they were going to.  And the discussion about actually putting up a tree took place.  Tree or no tree.  Because someone – looking innocently – knocked over the tree last year.  That keeps coming up for some reason.  I don’t get it.  The tree got tired and thirsty so it took a nap.  That’s it.  Really.

Time to Decorate

20131202-121654.jpg

Okay friends – it’s time.  Let the decorating begin!  This is nana helping me get out my Christmas stocking to hang by the fireplace with care – snorts.  I’m thinking I might just need a bigger one this year.  I’ve been really, REALLY nice.  Heck, no naughty here for at least what the past couple of weeks 🙂

But seriously, it’s time to get things going – start making lists and visiting the big guy.  I wonder if I can go to the mall to get my picture taken with Santa Claus this year?  I’m going to have to ask mom about that.

Are you decorated yet?  Lights outside?  I’m thinking I need to do a runway with lights so he doesn’t miss me.  I wonder if I can get dad outside to do that for me?  Ohhh daddy ….

Have a great day my friends!  XOXO – Bacon

On the Road with Bashful!

OUT AND ABOUT WITH BASHFUL… the rolling stone

Hello my friends.  This is Bashful, Bacon’s pet rock.  I’m continuing today with my series of “Out and About with Bashful… the rolling stone.”  Earlier in the week, you found me on my field trip to Wally World, better known to you as Walmart.

20130430-105547.jpg

While in the store, I got to ride this wonderful thing called a buggy.  It was wonderful!  Mom/dad got on to me a couple of times because I was so excited that I almost jumped out of the buggy like a Mexican jumping bean.  They fussed at me for reaching out and grabbing things off of the shelves.  I couldn’t help it!  It was so neat in this Wally World.  I’ve never been to a store before in my life.

I found some really cool and comfy pillows.  Mom let me give them a test ride for comfort.  They passed with flying colors all the way around.  I mean hey, what better way to suck up to mom than to try these suckers out, right?  I know… I know… another pebble in the swear jar.

I couldn’t make up my mind which one I liked better.  We spent a lot of time in the pillow department going back and forth trying each one out.  20130430-105538.jpg

I wanted dad to help me out but he said that I was the rock for the job on this one.  So I bounced and bounced, wiggled in and got comfy.  What do you think?  I couldn’t just pick one.  Dad said he would ponder the decision while we were in the store looking around.

This place Wally World has everything!  So much under one roof.  It was simply amazing.  They told me that if I continued to be good, they would let me ride a pony.  What?!  They have ponies here too?  I was in shock… and a little excited.

So, I did what every smart rock would do.  I settled into the buggy, enjoyed the ride and looked forward to my pony ride.

And you know what?  They came through.  I got to ride a pony as you can see in this picture.  It was by far one of the highlights of my trip.  This pony made noises and moved back and forth and everything.  I could barely hang on without getting bounced right off of it.  It was all that this pet rock could wish for!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my trip so far.  There’s so much more to share with my outing at Wally World.  I hope you look forward to my next series.  Have a fantastic weekend my new friends.

Toodles – Bashful

Eatable Art

It simply amazes me that the talent some people have in being creative.  I am always looking out for things that mom can recreate at the house, for work or soon to be at Christmas get togethers.  And you know it’s all about the pig 🙂

Oranges are in abundant throughout the holidays, often showing up in fruit baskets.  This is something that looks kind of easy to fix.  Cloves for eyes – I think mom can do this simple enough.  Wouldn’t it be cute showing up on the dinner table at Christmas at different places?  And, the way that the orange is tuffed up for the ears, the smell would be awesome between that and the cloves.  Decorative and smelly!

Mom is still practicing with her bread making skills as well.  I personally think that pig shaped bread served at Thanksgiving dinner like the one shown in this picture would be awesome.  Conversation would sure come back to me with this temptation.  You think?

And can you imagine finger sandwiches served like pigs?  Of course, with a side of fresh fruit.  I think it would be pigawesome!  Mommy would be sure to laugh if daddy fixed her a lunch box like this.  Can you imagine the look on her face when she opened her lunch box?  She would have to laugh.

And no, I couldn’t forget about dad.  I found something that he would equally enjoy.  It has some of his favorites – Angry Birds, sweets and a pig. Snort LOL

I’m not sure what would be better, eating the cupcakes or taking out the Angry Birds?

Any of these delights make you want to try them?
