Travels in the South

Yes you are right.  It is hot outside for any likes of chili.  However, we had a couple of rainy days/nights last week. So mom/dad was craving something warm for their bellies.  So off they went to one of their local restaurants that has the best chili – so they say – snorts with piggy laughter.

Let me introduce you to some Texas style chili.  I give you that it doesn’t look tantalizing.  But mom/dad says that it is the best chili that they have had in some time.  It has tender beef throughout the chili mixed with secret spices that no one will tell.  It all has jalapenos in it so expect some kick to it that stays with you for a bit.  Mom/dad both got theirs served with aged cheddar and crackers.  You gotta have crackers… or good loaf bread which they also got smothered with butter to combat the heat.

Insert Porn Music

Okay I’m not sure what that means, “Insert porn music”.  That’s something that daddy said.  I don’t understand dad’s crazy thinking.  All I know is that mom went to give me some of my favorite treats – my animal crackers.  Then she started laughing.  Dad asked why she was laughing like a crazy person and she told him what she found.  Then dad went Chick-a-bow-wow.

Again, I think daddy has overstepped the fine line of being crazy.  I mean, do you see anything interesting in my animal crackers?  They look delicious to me – snorts with piggy laughter.

Mission: Gold Fish Incognito

Dear Humans of the Hotel Thompson –

Your pig needs help.  Yeah, that’s it.  Your pig needs help.  May us Gold Fish suggest GFA (Gold Fish Anonymous).  They have a quick 3 step program for peeps addicted to us crackers.  Really, we have feelings too.  We are just swimming here in our world when all of a sudden we are plucked from our families to enter your belly.  May we also suggest popcorn, nuts or maybe potato chips if you are not watching your waist lines.  They are way more tasty than us cheese flavored morsels of fish that you tend to eat by the handfuls.  We are just trying to help out.  Perhaps you can try the Gold Fish Challenge – yeah that sounds awesome.  Put all of us in a gold fish bowl and see how long you can resist us – I betcha you can go a long time my oinker pal.  Really, I have that much faith in you.

Signed, Gold Fish with a Cause 🙂

Bacon and Nylablue Date Night

Date night *finally* got here this past weekend. I’ve been walking on a cloud every since my Nylablue at http://nylabluesmum.wordpress.com/ said she would go out with me. So much planning needed to be done. I wanted our first date to be something that she would always remember and dream about. My bud Speedy at http://www.speedyhousebunny.com/ graciously offered to help me out. I don’t know what I would have done without his help. I’ll tell you, for a little rabbit – he has some *super powers*!

Date night came quickly with all of this planning. Speedy jumped into his magic closet to travel and pick me up so we could flash to Canada to pick up my love. Let me tell you, traveling in buns magical closet was something in itself. Speedy is FAST. He picked me up like I didn’t weigh anything at all and we jumped in the tunnel. I closed my eyes so tight and the next thing I knew there we were in Canada. I should have put on my winter coat because it’s cold there! I don’t see how my love does it. But that’s okay, I’m here to keep her warm now 🙂 Introductions were made in real life with Nylablue’s mother, Sherri-Ellen. I promised to have our princess home at a decent time and not to tire her out too much. Then, we were off.

Speedy pulled the limousine around and picked us up in style. There’s nothing like a white stretch limo to make the girls swoon, huh? This one was fantastic! There was so much room for us inside to stretch out and partake in some of the goodies that Speedy had stocked up in the limo. Nothing but the best for my little Nylablue..

There was plenty of bottled water stocked and Speedy even remembered to stock some light snacks for us. There was tuna, crackers, shrimp balls and this fabulous aged cheese. It was all very delicious. But do you know what made it even more special? Having my sweet lady right there beside me to enjoy everything. We sat, snacked and talked about our lives while watching the landscape pass us by in the limousine windows. It was by far the highlight of my life so far. Nylablue stretched out on one of the seats and looked like the princess she is.

20140303-235242.jpg

Our first stop in our magical journey was an ancient temple in Cambodia. You know I figured cats are curious and that Nylablue would love this. We all got out to investigate the temple and the grounds. It was like a magical moment trapped in time. Everything was so quiet and it was like just the three of us were the only ones left in the world. It had a very calming and healing effect I believe. I’ve never seen grass so green and believe it or not – it didn’t feel weird on my hooves which is something I normally hate. It was pigawesome. And Speedy, he was wonderful in telling us about other temples he had been to.

When we got done exploring, we went to the back of the temple and found a gorgeous lake. It was pure bliss that we all stretched out and let the warm sun rays envelope us. We stayed there for almost an hour in silence. No one really needed to say anything. We were all content and happy. We had each other, the sun and the beautiful day that we had been looking forward to so much. It was our little heaven. It was as close to perfect that we could ever plan.

After a while, my pot belly started to rumble. Darn that belly. But by that time Nylablue was started to get a little hungry as well. We decided to have a little picnic right there with the mountains in the background. Speedy had packed us a variety of different delights. There was a magnificent tuna spread, baked carrots, aged cheese and chicken. This was definitely the best picnic basket I’ve seen. We took turns trying different foods and yes we might have fed each other a bit. Some things need to remain at the temple 🙂

Afterwards, we went walking in a field next to the lake that was filled with daisies and butterflies. Nylablue and I took turns chasing the butterflies and running through the daisies. It was an afternoon of carefree delight in doing nothing but having fun with each other. We even played tag for a while. Then we played hide and seek. Nylablue hid first and I asked her if I found her what would I get? She purred and meowed. I snorted, closed my eyes and started to count. All I can tell you is that I found her and a gentlepig never tells of his adventures. This was the best date of my entire life. So much so that I made my little Nylablue a video of our time together. I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoyed my day with her. And Speedy, thanks my man for helping us out with your talents. You are the best!

I Received a Package!

I love Christmas!!  Last week was really hectic here at the Hotel Thompson.  Mom and dad had parties to attend, people to visit and lists to make.  One night, mom came home to a package on the door step.  I just *knew* it was for me – snorts.

Mom brought it in and I helped to open it up.  OMP (oh my pig!)  This was totally unexpected.  I got a package from my brother from another mother – Easy at http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/  Talk about excitement and tail wagging.  I almost took flight right there in the Hotel.  ♥

Play toys – which might I add the purr things went crazy for.  Which I was kind of glad because it kept them away from me for just a tad bit so I could look at my SUPER HERO shirt – thud!  Finally, I can be a SUPER HERO – Spider Pig.  And mom, she’s such a softy.  In the upper right hand of the picture, there is a book on piggies.  There are some of the cutest little darlings in that book.  Mom boo-hooed like a little girl oohh and aaww over the piggies.  It is a great and wonderful coffee table book.  In fact, mommy took it to work to put on her office table.

This time of the year has been made so special to me.  Thanks my brother for thinking of me and the others here at the Hotel Thompson.  And as your card stated, I really wish we could have Christmas together.  Perhaps one year 🙂

Dear Bacon

20131113-093216.jpg Dear Bacon,

Leash training.  Well, it sucks.  I can’t go too far without the human deciding that I shouldn’t be that far.  A pig has to have his freedom!  That’s what I say.  What about you?  Signed Gotta Run

Dear Gotta Run,

Poor little guy.  Mommy *tried* to leash train me.  Let’s just say that I wasn’t a leash kind of pig either.  I’m sure with more practice, I would have adjusted but she didn’t have the will power – snorts.  Look on the other hand my little friend, they are just trying to watch after your safety.  Consider it a gesture of love. 🙂

20131113-093238.jpgDear Bacon,

HA!  This will make you think twice about stomping in that puddle outside again won’t it?  I just had to share.  You never know where my kind might jump out at you.  Consider us like clowns.  We’ll make you laugh but we are scary as heck to look at sometimes.  Signed Hide N Seek

Dear Hide N Seek,

Shivers to mergatroid!  I will never stomp my little hooves in the puddle outside in my magical backyard EVER again.  Heck, I close my eyes and still see you.  EEWW – you are like clowns – scary!!  I gotta get in therapy.  Thanks.

Dear Bacon,

You’re not the only cute thing that rides around in your mom’s moving thingy.  I love to settle in the back seat and go for a spin.  It kind of relaxes me and helps me to go to sleep.  I think it helps my mom too to hear me go bbaaww.  Signed Tiny

Dear Tiny,

OMP (oh my pig).  Yes you are so right my friend.  You are the most adorable little thing.  I just want to pick you up and cuddle with you!  If my mom saw you, oh goodness, we would so have to adopt you here at the Hotel Thompson!!  Stay safe my little friend.

Dear Bacon,

I turn my back for one minute and my tail hit my nuts off of the pole.  I think my face tells you everything.  I got make every nut count during these winter months!  Signed Flabbergasted

Dear Flabbergasted,

I’m sorry my friend for laughing but that look is priceless!  Hit me up, I’ll give you some nuts 🙂

Dear Bacon,

No matter what you do in life, never give up and never surrender.  You don’t know what strengths you have until you try.  Stay strong my friend.  Signed Adam Ant

Dear Adam Ant,

Those are some powerful words my little buddy.  So true and spot on.  I will never give up and never surrender with anything in my life.  Thank you!

MMMM – Thanks Nana!

20121112-082904.jpg

Nana came and saw me Saturday.  She even brought me a gift.  I *knew* it was for me.  I was so happy to see her… and my gift.  Four pounds of happiness is in that container.  I love it when nana visits.

I was cute for her too.  I laid down at her feet and she rubbed my belly, back and my ears.  I love it when people rub my ears.  It’s one of those places that people forget about.  She asked mom if this was what I do.  Yep, I’m a pig.  I eat, sleep, use the bathroom and lay around.  It’s what I do.

When nana left, I used my snout and pushed my animal crackers all over the house, up and down the hall.  I was trying to hide it in my room so I could get into it later on that night but mom caught me.  Darn it – I was that close too.

I bet you didn’t know I liked animal crackers, huh?  There’s not much I don’t like – LOL.  I usually get a few during my snack times throughout the day.  If you didn’t know it by now, you should.  My belly gives me away *every* time.  If you want me to do something, use food.  If you want to train me with something, use food.  Food is the highway to my belly.  I can’t help it.  This is how mommy has trained me to do a lot of things around the house.

And do you know, I even caught mommy eating one of my animal crackers?!  It’s okay cause I don’t mind sharing with her.  She shares food with me all of the time.

Do you like animal crackers?  Which animal do you like the most?  I love the ones that are shaped like elephants…. or maybe the giraffe or horse or lion or maybe its the zebra.  Okay – I like them all 🙂

Oh, and can you believe that when mom was younger, nana used to buy her some as well.  Of course, the packaging looked a little bit different.  Do you remember these –

THANKS NANA FOR MY ANIMAL CRACKERS –
