The Joys of Video

There are times at the Hotel Thompson that I just enjoy my time to myself.  This is one of those Fridays.  While daddy is slaving away on household chores – yawn – I’m holed in my bedroom for some peace and quiet.  Hey, I already brought all of my dirty stuff to the laundry room.  I’m good.  *My* chores are complete – snorts.

So, I’m in my bedroom all snug in my toddler bed hanging out on the laptop and watching Green Acres on my television.  I’m surfing YouTube and came across a commercial that I have never seen.  I was laughing so hard.  I’ll tell you a secret.  I could see *myself* doing some of the things in this commercial.  It’s that good.  Take a look and see what you think.  This commercial was made for *me* to star in.  Oh Hollywood, I’m ready for my close up – snorts.

Happy Friday my friends!

Dear Bacon

20130531-235907.jpg
Dear Bacon,
Hey, I’m just trying to help out here around the house. The humans said I don’t pull my weight. That’s all I’m doing – trying to help out with the everyday chores. I thought I would help out with dinner. I’m sure it will taste like chicken – evil bark. Signed Chef Boy Ring Dog

Dear Chef Boy Ring Dog,

Step away from the stove my friend. Purr things are not made for eating. They are made for loving. Trust me, they do not taste like chicken. I’ve licked our purr things here at the Hotel Thompson. They taste nothing like chicken. Not even good. You don’t want any of that. Go find you some kibbles. Now that’s a meal.

20130531-235916.jpgDear Bacon,
I know you have a lot of horsey friends. Can I be your friend to? I think we have some similar markings. I’m hoping that you can help me out with a problem I have. Am I a black horse with white spots or am I a white horse with black spots? Signed Confucius Spots

Dear Confucius Spots,

I would love to be your friend! I’m so touched that you asked. As for your problem. Does it really matter? All that *does* matter is that you know you are beautiful either way. I mean that from the heart – You are stunning – just stunning my new friend.

Dear Bacon,
What can I say, I’m a thrill seeker. Anything to get my heart pumping, I just LOVE to do. I know it drives Old McDonald over the edge here at the farm. I can’t help it though. Don’t you just love the excitement? Signed Evil Cowknivel

Dear Evil Cowknivel,

My friend, there is excitement and then there is excitement. Personally, I find it exciting just walking to the front room from my bedroom without getting the wrath of Hemi slapping my hind quarters. But, each to their own ways. Try not to give Old McDonald a heart attack in some of your activities. And heck, if you are going to take a risk, start charging admission so at least you can help the farm out. You know? Carry on my friend.

20130531-235933.jpgDear Bacon,
I’m trying to ‘bulk’ up. My friends say I’m skinny and scrawny. Do you think it’s working? Signed Squirt

Dear Squirt,

Oh little guy, give it some time. You will grow into all of that fur. You don’t need to lift weights to do that. And tell your friends to quit bullying you. There is no room for bullying in this time and age – NONE WHATSOEVER. You are just fine the way you are.

20130531-235941.jpg

Dear Bacon,

Who says that skateboarding is just for guys and the humans. If I want to burn the roads up, why can’t I? Everyone says it’s just a guy sport. Why? Who makes up these rules? Chicks rule – we should make up the rules, right? Signed Atonia Hawk

Dear Atonia Hawk,

I’m not arguing with that, really I’m not. I’ve seen my human mom do some amazing guy things. I say if you are good at, then practice makes perfect. Don’t take any flack – show them whatcha got my furry friend!

Happy Friday!

We made it through another week!

Who else thought this week would never end?  I for one didn’t think it would.  Mommy has been dragging all week saying she was tired.  I can’t have that.  I need mommy fully rested so she can have snuggle time with me.  Is that so wrong?  🙂

August is here and hopefully all of this heat will be coming to an end soon.  Mommy says if we can make it through August, then it’s down hill from there.  I hope so because this little oinker is not very fond of the heat.  Once it goes away, I may try to venture outside again.  Right now – eeww – it’s too hot for anything but staying inside near the air conditioning.

Do you have any great plans this weekend?  Mine is to help mommy clean house tomorrow and then hopefully we can have our snuggle time.  I hope cleaning goes fast!  She’s giving us all our honey do lists.  I got my room again and laundry.  That means I have to pull all of my dirty ‘stuff’ to the laundry room.  I would complain but the rent is free here 🙂  Plus, I get perks… who doesn’t like perks, right?

Everyone have a great weekend and do something fun.  XOXO – Bacon

Tag Game – YAY Let’s PLAY!

My barky friend Easy over at http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/ ‘tagged’ me on the Tag Game.  (Thanks my fellow four legged friend – high five paw/hoove and snout kisses).  The tag game is kind of like getting an award without getting an award.  I know it sounds complicated but it’s really not.  Here’s the formula that I came up with:

No award = answer questions + ask questions = tag more peeps.

Make sense now?  pig snorts – I always work better with a visual – 🙂

So here are the rules to the Tag Game –

  1. Post these rules.  √ DONE
  2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random facts about you.  √ See Below
  3. Answer the questions given to you in the tagger’s photo. √ See Below
  4. Create 11 new questions and tag new people to answer them. √ See Below
  5. Go to their blog and let them know they’ve been ‘tagged’. √

Random Facts About “ME”… the amazing Bacon 🙂

  1. I’m not really that ‘big’ like you see in the picture above.  The couch sits low and the angle of the picture makes it look like I’m ginormous… but I’m not.  I weigh a healthy 45 pounds which is really small compared to a regular pig that gets upwards 300 pounds!
  2. My tail gives me away every.single.time.  It’s such a magical item – my tail.  When I’m happy, I wag it like no tomorrow.  This happens when I eat, when mom calls my name or when I’m playing.  When it doesn’t wag and is at half staff – snort – I’m not too happy.  When it is at full staff, watch out because I’m fixing to potty – double snort.
  3. I speak human and mom speaks pig.  I know what she means when she tells me to go to my room, get ready for bed, get on the couch, come take a bath, etc.  She’s my mom – 🙂 I speak mom 100%
  4. Do you know how purr things and barky things mark items and get happy by rolling around on the floors?  I do the same thing.  Mom *always* laughs at me when I do that.  She thinks it’s a hoot.
  5. Just like regular ‘kids’, I have chores.  I have to help clean my room and I have to help bring my laundry to the laundry room.  And, I have to take care of Bashful – that’s almost a full time job!
  6. I eat Cheerios for breakfast with my piggy chow every morning.  It keeps me heart smart – what?  A pig has to watch his heart and cholesterol too.
  7. I eat a mixed salad every night for dinner with my piggy chow.  See, I eat healthy to maintain these handsome figure.
  8. One of my favorite all time snacks is popcorn.  Just the buttery smell of it, the sizzle of the kernels in the oil on the stove and the ‘pop-pop-pop’ sound gets me running from my bedroom all the way to the kitchen at the Hotel Thompson.  Mom always shares with me 🙂
  9. One of my favorite television shows to watch on television is called Wipeout.  I LOVE this show.  I jump on the couch, snuggle in with mom and watch the entire hour. It’s hilarious!  I highly recommend it.  I think they need to have a celebrity Wipeout.  That would be so much fun!  Oh and by the way, it helps that I have a MAJOR piggy crush on Jill Wagner – hubba hubba
  10. My Netflix account has a lot of ‘Who Done It”  shows in the que.  I love watching them as well on the ID channel (Investigative Discovery).  It’s kind of like the old game Clue.  I like to try to figure out who the culprit is before the end of the show.  Sometimes I do – sometimes I don’t.
  11. My favorite gameshow to watch on television is a tie between Jeopardy with Alex Trebek and Family Feud with Steve Harvey.  They keep me on my toes.  Of course, that is a post on its own for the very near future 🙂

Questions Asked of Me –

  1. What’s the worst thing you had to eat?  This is easy – kumquats – the most vile thing in the world! Supposedly in theory, they have a sweet skin that you eat as well as a tart pulp.  Most pigs like them – I detest them.  Mom so wishes she could have gotten a picture of my face when I bit into one that she gave me.  My ears twitched up and she swears I made a face.  It was disgusting.  It’s the only thing that I have turned away food wise.  Amazing, huh?
  2. Do you like TV commercials?  I love television commercials – especially from my buddy Maxwell.  You know the famous man pig that does the Geico commercials.  He is a happening dude my friends!
  3. Have you ever wrote a love letter to a celebrity? Piggy blushes.  Yes I did.  I once wrote Miss Piggy a love letter telling her about my unswaying love for her.  She never replied and ran off with that amphibian that calls himself Kermit.  Love is so fickle my friends.
  4. What’s your favorite movie?  Don’t hate me when I say this but Muppet Twilight.  Mom got all worked up over the Twilight series and I thought this was way better.  Right?
  5. Do you like car driving by night? I don’t personally drive but mom does.  She *hates* driving at night.  And well, I don’t really like going out with her at night because you see pigs have really bad vision to begin with.  That and darkness doesn’t match.  And okay, I’m a little – LITTLE – afraid of the dark.  ssshh – don’t tell anyone.
  6. What’s your favorite ice cream?  I prefer any ice cream, maybe strawberry wins top notch.  Bashful likes  the rocky road ice cream.
  7. What’s the first thing you do in the morning?  I have to wizzy first thing in the morning – doesn’t everyone?
  8. Did you have posters on your wall as you were a teenager?  Which ones?  I have posters of Miss Piggy, Angry Birds, Three Little Pigs, etc on my walls.  Did you know when mom was a teenager she had a picture of King Tut on her wall?!  Can you believe that?  How nerdy was that?
  9. Can you play a musical instrument?  Which one?  Mom says I play the tuba when I eat too much cabbage.  I’m not sure what she means by that.
  10. If you were a teenager, would you join in casting shows?  I would love to be casted in a television show as well myself.  I think I could bring a lot of comedy to the show.  Don’t you think?
  11. Do you prefer to listen to music, watching television or nothing to fall asleep?  Usually mom tucks me in, sometimes she reads me a story or we watch a quick cartoon together.  Most of the time, I drift off asleep while she reads.

Dear Management of the Hotel Thompson

Dear Management,

After careful consideration in your letter, I have reviewed my initial complaints.  You brought up some very good and valid points in my life at the Hotel Thompson.  I am a very lucky little piggy.

Please accept my piggy apologies and original letter.  Sometimes one just needs to be booted back into reality.  I am very fortunate to have such great and wonderful accomodations here at the Hotel Thompson.

I promise to do better in my chores and more giving to daddy with mommy.  Thank you so much for setting me straight.

With much love,

Bacon

Hanging – I’m Just Hanging

Saturdays are the best days at the Hotel Thompson. Mom is off of the worky place and she is home. I follow her around the house like a little puppy dog just wagging my tail. I sit in the kitchen and watch her cook – that’s one of my favorite things. You ask why? I’m glad you asked. Because she throws me little pieces of food – whatever she is preparing. It can be crackers, croutons, vegetables, salad mix, fruit – whatever she is working with for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Also Saturdays mean Saturday night family movie night. We pick a movie, pop popcorn and watch the movie together. We all take turns picking a flick. And, I get to stay up as late as I want with mom. This is a special treat since usually my bedtime during the week is pretty routine.

20130312-101633.jpg

Saturdays also mean chores. Sigh – even I have chores but at least mom helps so they go quickly. I have to help in cleaning my room and taking all of my laundry to the wash room. Afterwards, I have to help with folding which is kind of fun because well you know I have hooves not fingers. Snort – so usually I end up rolling around in the warm towels and mom laughs. I have to also help in picking up all of my

toys in the house and putting them in my piggy toy box. Then we steam mop my bedroom floor. I can’t help with that but I like to watch 🙂

Afterwards, it’s mommy piggy snuggle time on the sofa. I stretch out and mommy rubs my back and belly as she writes and answers mail until movie time.

I hope your Saturday is as fun as mine! XOXO – Bacon
