Paw Time with Houdini

Hello peeps.  This is me everyday when mom leaves the Hotel Thompson.  I crawl on the back of mom’s chaise and hang out waiting for her return.  Of course, I get down to refuel with a bite to eat or drink of water… or go potty.  But then it’s back up on the chaise for mommy patrol.  This is the *best* spot to wait for her.  I can look out the window and look for her car to pull up.  And then when she walks through the door, she knows better to be holding anything because I’m going to jump right into her arms.  Nah, don’t worry.  She will always catch me.  Right?

Hope you have a blast of a weekend.  I leave you now with Jokes with Daddy.

Paw Time with Houdini

Greetings my dear friends in blogville.  This has been a week!  Mom has been running around trying to get her ‘lists’ taken care of.  Does your humans do this?  They keep adding to their lists and trying to scratch things off.  Daddy says as long as mom has the list and doesn’t give him a ‘honey do list” he is good – barks with puppy laughter.  Daddy is such a silly man for sure.

One of the things on mom’s list was a trip to our local pet store Petsmart.  And guess what – I betcha can’t guess?  I got to go!  Can you say FIELD TRIP?  What a blast!  I love that place.  There are so many toys and so much food and so many people that want to say hey to me.  I just ❤ it!

While we were there, dad found me this cool toy – it’s a tuff piggy.  I love it – especially since it’s wearing wings.  It reminds me of my pig bro Bacon who thinks he can fly too.  But supposedly this new toy is suppose to be tuff and doggy indestructible.  Barks!  We shall see about that my friends.

And of course while we were shopping, we had to check out the clothes.  Some people think it’s weird but I really, REALLY like wearing my clothes.  When mom changes me – I gotta have her help because my arms are too short to do it myself – I beg for my new shirt.  In fact, I feel naked without my clothes.  It’s just something I’ve gotten used to and I love it.  And yep, I have a baby dresser full of my clothes 🙂  Lucky me huh?

So there we were looking at clothes and mom starts laughing all to herself.  Me and dad were like what’s up?  So she read this shirt to us and said it had to travel home with us.  Can you read it?  “I don’t need your attitude, I have one of my own.”  For some reason, mom/dad said that shirt was perfect for me.  I don’t get it – barks with puppy laughter.  I don’t have an ‘attitude’.  Not at all.  I just want everything and everything my way 🙂

When we got home, mom/dad put away all of their things and were talking in the kitchen.  Finally mom was like, “Where’s Hoo-Hoo?”  That’s when they looked into the living room and saw me.  Mom just *had* to take a picture and was laughing while she did it.  They find me so humorous – I don’t get that either.  But as long as mom laughs and smiles, I guess I’m good with that.

Do you see the irony in this picture?  Mom was telling daddy that there was irony in it but I don’t understand what that means.  What is irony?  Mom mentioned something about seeing my ‘bed’ in the back ground of the picture in front of the fireplace and why wasn’t I in that bed.  But mom, why would I be in that bed when I can stretch out fully on the chaise?  The chaise is so comfy and I’m stretched out fully – barks with puppy laughter.

And now friends, I leave you with Jokes with Daddy – enjoy!

Paw Time with Houdini

Another week down my friends.  It was a busy week with mom/dad’s anniversary and Bacon’s birthday but it was a fun week.  Bacon has also been busy getting ready for his 31 Days of Spook in October and of course mom has started her DIEt again for the gazillionth time – rolls puppy eyes.  Do all women go through this?  Please tell me yes – barks!

The weather here has started getting cooler.  Bacon is loving that.  I myself am not sure.  This six pound body gets cold like you wouldn’t believe.  A couple of nights, mom has made a fire (by flipping the switch – barks with laughter).  I crawl up in her lap on her chaise to feel the heat and watch the flames.  That is the life my friends.  And don’t you love my shirt?  I got it just for Bacon to pick on him.  He’s not too fond of it for some unknown reason?  Maybe because it makes my butt look small?

Oh, and this is hilarious.  When mom/dad came home Sunday from their night out, guess what happened?  The toilet decided it didn’t want to work anymore and wouldn’t flush.  Isn’t that awesome?  So mom had to go the local Home Depot store to pick up what she called a flapper.  I wouldn’t let her out of my sight so guess who got to go with her?  Yep that would be me.  I was her assistant. So we went together.  That place is cool.  The smells are funny but there was so many people that wanted to pet me and oohh and aaww over me.  Of course, I ate that up!  I was the main attraction in the plumbing aisle.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Welcome my friends to another week of Paw Time with Houdini.  I hope you had a terrific week full of fun and treats. Next week is leading up to something special – sshh come closer – mom’s birthday is next Friday.  Can you believe that she is going to be 25 again?  I was shocked too.  But that’s our little secret.

This week at the Hotel Thompson, I’ve learned some more new things.  First up, the rug near the front door is not suppose to be chewed.  Who knew huh?  Mom says it’s one of her favorite rugs and a certain little pooch now has teeth marks in it.  What?  Looks innocent.  I wonder who did that?  Bacon?  Hemi?  Mouse Girl?  But I have to tell you that rug is intriguing.  It calls my name and taunts me.  Really it does.  Have you ever had something like that calling your name and tempting you?  It’s harsh.

This next thing I’ve learned is something that scared mom – I’m not sure why.  She lives with us anipals so she should expect the unexpected, right?  Okay look at this picture – stunning me hanging out on mom’s cchhaaiisseee.  See here is the game.  I climb up on top and when mom walks by I jump out at her.  She catches me and then nuzzles my chin and belly.  Okay I admit the first time I did it, she was shocked and surprised.  But after that, she expects it now.  I don’t do it to daddy for obvious reasons.  I don’t think he would see me.  And I’m not afraid of jumping or daddy not catching me.  Nope not me.  I’m brave.  I’m afraid of the impact on the nice wood floor – barks!

See I am smart.  Don’t let my size fool you.  I’m not short.  I’m six pounds of fun size.

And a special shout out today to Easy, mine and Bacon’s close friend and brother.  You are awesome!!  He sent me a gift for my birthday last week.  I got a package in the mail yesterday here at the crib.  All the way from France and made out to moi.  I was so excited.  I just knew it was from me.  Daddy opened the package and I was jumping all over the place telling him to hurry up.  After a gazillion hours, he finally opened it but NNOOO mom had to take a quick picture first.  BARKS!  Look at all of the goodies – a shirt, a handkerchief, Shit Happens bags, a card and a squeaky toy.  All of which say “HEART BREAKER”.  aawaw – you are awesome my sweet friend.  AND I ❤ it all… even the Shit Happens baggies… which will come in handy trust me.

But you know what was my favorite, right?  The squeeze heart. Oh my dogs!  It’s the best.  It makes a different squeak than my other toys and it’s L.O.U.D.  It’s absolutely the best.  I played with it and played with it and then played with it some more.  In fact when mom put me to bed last night, she didn’t know I had put it in my bedroom.  She and the neighbors didn’t know until they heard me playing with it around 2:00 AM.  BARKS with laughter.  Hey I dog has to play right brother?  Thanks again my friend – you are the best!

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Hello my sweet friends.  It’s been a couple of weeks since my last check in here from the Hotel Thompson.  We are ALL so glad the renovation is over here.  It was amazing and I hope you enjoyed seeing all of the before and after pictures as well as mom’s breakdown of the different phases.  I tell you that mother of mine is a scheduler… and a juggler.  She kept us all on a strict schedule.  Have you see the television shows where they don’t show the home owner the after until it’s finished?  That’s what mom/dad did to us anipals here.  We all got shipped up the street to Nana’s to spend the night the day of the floor installation.  The last thing we remember is the carpet and linoleum.  So that Friday after the furniture was delivered, mom came and got us from Nana’s.  OMD!  Once we got inside of the Hotel Thompson, us anipals couldn’t believe it!  It was so new and different.  We all thought we were at the wrong house for a bit.  So many different changes.  We anipals went around and of course had to check things out and mark our territories.  So many new things to try out!

Then it happened.  Mom told us that we had to be careful of the new flooring and furniture.  And of course, daddy put the baby gate back up blocking us from the kitchen.  That baby gate is because of Bacon – don’t tell him I told you that.  That pig – rolls doggy eyes – he knows how to open the freezer so he can’t go in there anymore.  Since he can’t go in there, we can’t go in there.  Of course, the cats jump the fence but I’m too little.  But when I did get to go in the kitchen to check things out – WOW!  I ran and ran and ran around that kitchen island so many times that I got dizzy.  It’s so neat!

And of course my favorite piece of furniture is the couch.  All of those big puffy pillows – I was in pooch heaven.  My personal challenge is to see how many I can knock on the floor before mom/dad realize what I’m doing – barks!  And mom’s chaise – WOW!  That thing is like a bed for a queen – which my mommy is – 🙂  She keeps this comfy Chinese blankie on it that she wraps up in when she is on it.  The other day, I jumped up with her.  Yep – see the picture.  It was so comfy!  And are you wondering what my shirt says?  It’s one of my favorites – of course my brother Bacon doesn’t like it but I think that’s what makes it even funnier.  The shirt says, “I like bacon on my bacon”.  Funny huh?

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Oh Dear Piggy Heavens Above

My daddy – just saying those two words make me laugh.  Does it make you laugh?  Knowing my daddy – my family for that matter – you know this is going to be something good.  Right?  Well, the other night I caught mom and dad doing something so hilarious in the living room.  See with the new furniture, the chaise is OFF LIMITS to all of us.  But when mom is not at home, we take turns on it.  Don’t tell her okay. Well poor daddy.  He finally got to sit in it the other night.  I heard the noise, so I tip toed on my hooves into the living room, hid in one corner and video taped them two.  Shakes my piggy head now.  Someone help me with those two okay.
