Today , April 25th, is a wonderfully special day for not only Bacon’s mom but for all of the Administrative Professionals out there in the world.  Whether you call them secretaries, administrative assistants or my personal favorite Octopuses, they do not get enough praise for what they do.  They are the office keepers, the schedulers, the reminders, the speed typists – the office jugglers.  They not only keep the work load going but they remind their bosses of their personal dates to remember and patch up the boo-boos that happen while at work.  They should be praised daily and reminded of their wonders.

So by all means, don’t forget your office Octopus.  Show them your gratitude.  A small token of a card, a cup of coffee, a gift card, flowers or take them to lunch.  Just don’t forget that special worker.

Billy the Beaver Did What?!

  Oh my friends – with everything going on here at the house, I got way behind on some important things.  Like Billy the Beaver.  Shakes piggy head.  Right before the renovation, he started chewing up the furniture.  Just look at what he did to this table stand – those teeth of his are powerful and very, very destructive.

Unlike his sweet sister Beatrice who went on to have a wonderful modeling career, Billy is a little character who seems to stay in trouble here.  There’s lots of wood out now from after the renovation so we are having to keep an eye for those teeth of his who seems to want to gnaw everything in sight.

Who knows what he might get into next.  Stay tuned to find out.  I will definitely be keeping a piggy eye on him!

Tuckered Out

This is me from last night here at the Hotel Thompson.  I’m all tuckered out.  Why do you ask?  I’ll tell you why on this fine day my friends.  I’m glad you asked – snorts.  See in the picture that thing I’m lying on?  Well that is my king sized Egyptian cotton sheet.  You know the one that I ‘stole’ from mom.  That sheet is awesome.  It’s like my security blankie.  I do everything with that sheet.  I drag it all over the Hotel Thompson, I play with it and I sleep with it.  When daddy washes it, I go back/forth from the living room to the laundry room waiting for it to come out of the dryer all nice, clean and smelly.  That’s how much I love that blankie.

Last night after dinner, I pulled that sheet to the living room and spread it out on the floor.  It had to be just right.  You see it’s get a slick silky feel to it.  It’s great for sliding – snorts.  I then went to my room and ran around, down the hall and into the front room jumping on my sheet and sliding.  I did this several times until I slid into the entertainment center – snorts.  Then mommy said that was enough.

Then I did what I do second best.  See my Olivia ball in the picture?  The one that says “Pretty in Red”.  I tried to play ‘soccer’ pushing it around with my snout and kicking it.  That was fun too until it went airborne and knocked over dad’s empty glass – Snorts.  See, he’s holding me back in my profession soccer ball career.

So after all this play, I was just tuckered out.  What’s a pig to do but fall where he is and sleep forty winks.  You ever get this tuckered my friends?

You never know what I’m up to here at the Hotel Thompson when mom is at work… or home for that matter.  Take for instance this email we shared earlier in the week.  I was only trying to help mom out.  You can never stop looking for a better opportunity, right?  Snorts.  Somehow I don’t think she thought I was being helpful.  I wonder how she will look in their cute little orange shirts?  Then again on the other hoof, she can always bring me home some wings – Yummy!
