Dear Canadian Cat – Special Edition

September we are highlighting some of my friends who volunteered to help me out with my Dear Bacon issue. Today’s special edition is by my friends Kali and Shoko.  If you don’t know Kali and Shoko , you *must* go visit them and check them out on their blog The Canadian Cats.  Tell them that Bacon sent you.  Now, on to some great advice to help out our fellow anipals.

Dear Canadian Cats,
Oh dear furry kitty heavens. What has been seen can not be unseen. I saw my humans naked…without a stitch of clothing. Why would they do that? Can you explain that to me? Signed Scarred for Life

Dear Scarred,
Land sakes alive.  The horror, the horror!  I hope the picture you sent is of you and you’re not a kit.  If, you were a kit, you’d need extensive therapy immediately.  As to why they would wander around without their coverings….who knows.  Hoomins are not known for their bashfulness.  Perhaps they were airing out their private parts like we do.  You would think they would lay down and stick their feet in the air if that were the case.  They could have been headed to the watering closet…they take their coverings off for this.  Very curious that they put on stinky coverings after getting clean.  I’m sure they weren’t trying to scare you though.  They just don’t realize how repulsive there bodies are to us.  I suggest in the future, you cover your eyes with your paws and RUN at the first glimpse of their naked bodies..  This is not safe but if you run into a wall your problem is solved.  When you come to you’ll wonder if all this was just a nightmare.  Good luck my friend.

Dear Canadian Cats,
Water is the root of all evils my friends. Cats don’t need baths. We bathe ourselves. Why do the humans insist on dunking us – it’s like they want to baptist us. I don’t get it. Signed Walks on Water

Dear Walks on Water,
Water can be terrifying…especially when its not our idea to be anywhere near it.  Yikes!  I have a theory about hoomins sniffability and our own sensitive sniffer.  They are totally different.  When I am smelling beautiful and allow mom to get a whiff of my exciting scent…she says I stink.  How rude!!I’ll bet she wouldn’t like it if I took a sniff of her and ran away.  Wait!  I do that now.

Walks on, tell your mom how you feel and suggest dry shampoo. Your mom just brushes it in your fur and you’re good to go.  If, she still insists on baptizing you…then baptize her back again with lots of water.

Dear Canadian Cats,
Trust me my friends. Never play in the kitchen when the humans are doing what they call cooking. The dropped a cup of something on me. Now I look like Casper. Help. Signed Cat Ghost

Dear Cat Ghost,
Hahaha….you look funny!  Lighten up Cat Ghost.  You still are cute as a button.  Let’s take a bad situation and turn it around.  This is the time to go “trick or treating”.  You’ll clean up….so to speak.

Dear Canadian Cats,
Meow. What do I do for fun around the house? I strut around holding the dog treats in my mouth What? I look at it as helping the barky things out with their diet. Yeah. That’s it. Meow. Signed Dog Whisperer

Dear Dog Whisperer,
I like your style.  Up front and in everybody’s face.  My kind of friend.    However, the constant exposure of dog treats is positive reinforcement to your hoomin to get more treats for the dog not you.  This is not what you were aiming for.  So take those puporoni and stash them where no one will find them.  Grab a bag of your favourite treats and walk around the house.  It’s basic psychology my friend.  Now, get ready for lots of treats to come your way!

.

Dear Canadian Cats,
Who says us kitties don’t get even. This will teach that dog to mess with me again. Don’t worry. I didn’t cut him. But I did take this picture to threaten him on future escapades. What do you think? Signed Corleone Cat

Dear Corleone Cat,
I’d say you made him an “offer he can’t refuse.”  Look at his eyes CC.  Anyone can tell, he’s learned his lesson well.  So, leave the knife and take his treats.  Put the knife somewhere handy though and let him know he’s padding a thin line.

Remember my friends – Dear Bacon can’t happen without *you*.  Please continue to send your letters and questions to me here at the Hotel Thompson at baconthompson@gmail.com

Bacon and Nylablue Date Night

Date night *finally* got here this past weekend. I’ve been walking on a cloud every since my Nylablue at http://nylabluesmum.wordpress.com/ said she would go out with me. So much planning needed to be done. I wanted our first date to be something that she would always remember and dream about. My bud Speedy at http://www.speedyhousebunny.com/ graciously offered to help me out. I don’t know what I would have done without his help. I’ll tell you, for a little rabbit – he has some *super powers*!

Date night came quickly with all of this planning. Speedy jumped into his magic closet to travel and pick me up so we could flash to Canada to pick up my love. Let me tell you, traveling in buns magical closet was something in itself. Speedy is FAST. He picked me up like I didn’t weigh anything at all and we jumped in the tunnel. I closed my eyes so tight and the next thing I knew there we were in Canada. I should have put on my winter coat because it’s cold there! I don’t see how my love does it. But that’s okay, I’m here to keep her warm now 🙂 Introductions were made in real life with Nylablue’s mother, Sherri-Ellen. I promised to have our princess home at a decent time and not to tire her out too much. Then, we were off.

Speedy pulled the limousine around and picked us up in style. There’s nothing like a white stretch limo to make the girls swoon, huh? This one was fantastic! There was so much room for us inside to stretch out and partake in some of the goodies that Speedy had stocked up in the limo. Nothing but the best for my little Nylablue..

There was plenty of bottled water stocked and Speedy even remembered to stock some light snacks for us. There was tuna, crackers, shrimp balls and this fabulous aged cheese. It was all very delicious. But do you know what made it even more special? Having my sweet lady right there beside me to enjoy everything. We sat, snacked and talked about our lives while watching the landscape pass us by in the limousine windows. It was by far the highlight of my life so far. Nylablue stretched out on one of the seats and looked like the princess she is.

20140303-235242.jpg

Our first stop in our magical journey was an ancient temple in Cambodia. You know I figured cats are curious and that Nylablue would love this. We all got out to investigate the temple and the grounds. It was like a magical moment trapped in time. Everything was so quiet and it was like just the three of us were the only ones left in the world. It had a very calming and healing effect I believe. I’ve never seen grass so green and believe it or not – it didn’t feel weird on my hooves which is something I normally hate. It was pigawesome. And Speedy, he was wonderful in telling us about other temples he had been to.

When we got done exploring, we went to the back of the temple and found a gorgeous lake. It was pure bliss that we all stretched out and let the warm sun rays envelope us. We stayed there for almost an hour in silence. No one really needed to say anything. We were all content and happy. We had each other, the sun and the beautiful day that we had been looking forward to so much. It was our little heaven. It was as close to perfect that we could ever plan.

After a while, my pot belly started to rumble. Darn that belly. But by that time Nylablue was started to get a little hungry as well. We decided to have a little picnic right there with the mountains in the background. Speedy had packed us a variety of different delights. There was a magnificent tuna spread, baked carrots, aged cheese and chicken. This was definitely the best picnic basket I’ve seen. We took turns trying different foods and yes we might have fed each other a bit. Some things need to remain at the temple 🙂

Afterwards, we went walking in a field next to the lake that was filled with daisies and butterflies. Nylablue and I took turns chasing the butterflies and running through the daisies. It was an afternoon of carefree delight in doing nothing but having fun with each other. We even played tag for a while. Then we played hide and seek. Nylablue hid first and I asked her if I found her what would I get? She purred and meowed. I snorted, closed my eyes and started to count. All I can tell you is that I found her and a gentlepig never tells of his adventures. This was the best date of my entire life. So much so that I made my little Nylablue a video of our time together. I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoyed my day with her. And Speedy, thanks my man for helping us out with your talents. You are the best!

Romper Room Throw Back

20121126-064758.jpgMom told me about this show that she used to watch growing up as a child. It was called Romper Room. Do you remember it? She said that it was a series that ran from 1953 until 1994. Of course, snort – mom came in there sometimes in the late 1970’s.

She told me she used to watch it ALL of the time. We even found an old back issue of one of them and she showed it to me. Even dad said he watched it growing up. Of course, it was right up there with shows like Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers.

There were lots of things that mom and dad both said they learned. One thing was when they served milk and cookies to the children. You remember the little prayer given before eating, “God is great, God is good. Let us thank him for our food. Amen.” I think I’ve even heard daddy still mutter that before dinner sometimes – snort.

And do you remember the bumblebees, Mr. Do-Bee and Mr. Don’t-Bee? Do-Bee good little children and Don’t Be Mean. Those were so hilarious when we watched the show the other day – LOL

The ending was my favorite – the magic mirror. “Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror, tell me today, have all my friends had fun at play?” The teacher would then name off names, “I see Jimmy and Lucy and Tiffany and Judy…” I *so* hoped she would say Bacon in the episode we watched, but she didn’t. Mom said she never said her name either. Pooey.

So, I kind of wanted to do a throw back to the old Romper Room Magic Mirror. I wanted to look in my Magic Mirror and ‘see‘ all of the people that have seen my blog.

I see Hungary, I see Italy, I see Bosnia and Herzegovina. I see Greece, I see Lebanon, I see Australia and I see Oman (I had to look that one up on the map!).

I see Saudi Arabia, I see Denmark, I see Maylaysia and I see United Republic of Tanzania. I see Estonia, I see Kenya, I see Vietnam and I see Pakistan.

I see Israel, I see the United States, I see the Netherlands and I see the United Kingdom. I see Canada, I see South Africa, I see Mexico and I see Germany.

I see Singapore, I see Spain, I see Georgia (not to be confused to the Georgia where I live in the United States 🙂 and I see the Phillippines. I see Brazil, I see India, I see Portugal and I see Indonesia.

I see Switzerland, I see Poland, I see Russian Federation and I see Ireland. I see Serbia, I see New Zealand, I see Malta and I see France.

I see Thailand, I see Taiwan, I see Guatemala and I see Sweden. I see Republic of Korea, I see Norway, I see Hong Kong and I see Austria.

I see Columbia and I see Aruba. I see Peru and I see Ukraine.

Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again REALLY SOON my friends. Hogs and Kisses – Bacon
