Happy Birthday Hemi

20130624-194724.jpg

This post goes out to my brother Hemingway – Hemi for short. He is a lot of things here at the Hotel Thompson.

He is my brother.

He is my friend.

He is the master cat.

He is mom/dads oldest.

I talk about him a lot here on my blog. Mostly about him using his ginormous paw to slap me on the rump – snorts. But really, today is his birthday. Today he turns the big 14 years young. Happy birthday Hemi.

And just remember Hemi, with your age – snorts –

you might want to cut back on spanking this oinker.

Just sayin’

Oh Good Grief Daddy

These days, I can’t let my so called human daddy go anywhere.  He *always* gets into some type of trouble.  St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th.  Dad, the ever loving-gotta-have-some-fun with the holiday, went out on a mission to find some trouble fun.

Now, my dad is part Irish so he thinks this holiday is made for him – snorts

Today, dad found a drinking buddy.  This little guy that dad named O’Donnell sits on his shoulder so that he doesn’t have to drink alone.  And when dad does start to drink, not only does he have a drinking buddy but I’m sure after a few, O’Donnell will even start to talk to him – snorticles.  Good grief.

And just a note.  With dad being part Irish, he once grew a mustache and beard.  You guessed it.  It was redder than O’Donnell’s beard.  He was going to grow one for St. Patrick’s Day but mom said absolutely not.  Dad replied by telling mommy, “You’re not the boss of me.”  Well, you see who won that argument – snorts.

But never fear, even with dad’s Irish roots he doesn’t even drink alcohol.  I guess mom will change the color of his sweet tea to green with a little green dye.  That should make him merry just the same!

Oh friends, did you know that mommy/daddy adopted Hemi and his brother Tybee when they were three weeks old?  They barely had their eyes open and had just started walking – I guess you could say that was walking.  Their little tails were like a piece of yarn – 🙂  They had gotten picked up by Animal Control and taken to the shelter.  Mom and dad saved them both and brought them home.  They are such softies when it comes to us four legged animals, you know 🙂

And special thank you to Phenny across the pond who sent me and my brother Houdini some birthday goodies.  We are sending you lots of meow’s, hogs and snout kisses ❤

Squeals – Guess Who Called!

So there we were this past Saturday all of us bundled in the living room watching the clock intensely.  We were expecting a long distance call from someone here in blogville.  Someone that we have talked to verbally by type, sent packages to back/forth and even talked to them on Facebook.  But we had never talked in person via the phone.  Emails were sent back and forth and the magical time was set for 2:30 pm our time which would make it 8:30 pm their time.  That’s right, they are SIX hours ahead of us.

Then it happened.  The phone rang.  We all jumped of course because we were concentrating on the phone and clock.  Mom answered the phone and put it on speaker.

Mom – “Hello”

Friend in blogville – “Hello is this the Hotel Thompson?”

Score – jumps for joy.  It is our friend and not a solicitor or robo call – snorts.  I know – I know.  You’re asking who was the caller.  It was – are you ready for this – my brother Easy from France!  We were ALL so excited.  We got to talk to Easy’s dad and had such a blast!  Mom was so excited that she got to talk to a real Frenchman – hubba hubba.  It was an awesome time full of fact changing and getting to know each other and ask questions that we’ve always wanted to.  And talk about accents.  WOW!  It was great.

One never knows who might reach out from across the telephone lines in the future.  Thanks Easy for calling this oinker.  We had the best of time!  I know it’s greedy to say but we can’t wait to do it again!
