Every once in a while, your body just craves a good steak – well so says mom/dad. And when mom craves steak, dad takes full advantage and takes her to a local steakhouse that they both love. On this date, mom/dad shared this plate above, of course with a side salad. This is one of mom’s favorites – a ribeye steak fire grilled on an open flame, medium please. The juices were still running and mom licked her lips before jumping in with both feet to eat her way out. And of course by splitting the meal with daddy, that does mean 1/2 the calories. Dad said it was an awesome dinner. When was the last time you had steak calling your name?

Welcome my friends to another week of Travels in the South. This week is all about daddy. Sometimes he craves bad things. It’s okay. It happens. This week he was craving a hamburger. Not just any hamburger though. He likes something called the Royale at a local hamburger joint. This thing has the works – hamburger, cheese, a fried egg and something that this little oinker won’t mention but you can see in the picture. This gigantic burger is happily served with french fries. Does it look good to you?
Daddy says it is messy and once you start, it’s hard to put down because it falls all over the place. Have you ever had such a creation?
Until next time, happy eating my friends ❤
Sometimes the best treat can be the easiest treat. Really it can. Let’s look at this week’s edition of Travels in the South. Mom/dad found something that even this oinker can wrap his piggy jowls around and enjoy fully. Two words for you – strawberry shortcake. Understand now? Look at that deliciousness. So simple yet so delicious. Don’t let the bare basics fool you.
This pure awesomeness is made out of simple sliced pound cake covered with sliced strawberries, strawberry syrup and topped with whip cream. How could you not want to lick the plate… and you do, don’t you? I won’t tell anyone.
And this dessert is just wonderful for the heat outside. A simple dessert to eat for dessert or like mom did, for dinner – snorts with piggy laughter.
Check back with me next week my friends for another edition of Travels in the South.
Anyone for some nachos? Welcome my friends to another posting of Travels in the South. Today we went a little Mexican. Okay maybe I should say mom/dad went a BIG time Mexican. They decided one night to go out and split some Fajita Nachos and maybe – and I stretch maybe – a Margarita might have been involved – snorts with piggy laughter. And I say share because look at that plate!
It had peppers, onions, chicken, steak, shrimp and cheese slathered all over it. It was messy and so delicious! And hey splitting it between mom/dad meant half of the calories, right? Don’t you love the way those two parents of mine have changed their way in thinking about food? You don’t have to give up the things you love, just split them in half with someone else you love ❤
Hello friends – welcome to another week of Travels in the South. Now we all know that mom is trying to do right – trying to live a healthier life. She believes in the 90-10 system. 90% of the time she eats right while the other 10% of the time she has what she wants – within reason. Well this past weekend, mom was craving a hamburger… which is weird because that’s something she doesn’t usually crave. So her and dad went to a local burger joint. And mom did good. She really did… okay for the most part – remember 90-10 system – snorts with piggy laughter.
So what did mom eat? This is typical of things she orders when her and dad go out. This is called a Buffalo Wingman’s Burger. What makes it that? It has a blackened beef patty, pimento cheese spread, spicy pickles, red onions, a spicy mayo made with Chipotle pepper sauce and then topped with two buffalo wings – oh and mom got it bunless with a side salad. See what I’m talking about on 90-10 system? Sounds delicious and mom said it tasted even better.
Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY. This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better. Some of them, you may already know. We hope that you enjoy this series!
Age: Roxy 10 and Tigerlino 7 years
Location: Hmmm… good question!?! (*scratches head*) But it must be the land of fun, frolic and food since there’s plenty of that to be found here…
Web/Blog Page: https://purrfectkitties.wordpress.com/
What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? Roxy: Yay! My very own servants!!! MOL. Tigerlino: Ooh, look! New can openers! Let’s hope they serve tuna at their place…
What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home? Roxy: The humans had fancied my brother Romeo but then, when they picked me up I started purring like my life depended on it and human #1 said, „Ooh, I want this one!“ Tigerlino: When the humans took me home and gave me my very OWN bowl of food! That’s when I knew I was in HEAVEN!!
What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home? Roxy: When I spilled the human’s coffee over her MacBook. But hey, she should look on it from the bright side. Now that this silly thing is gone she can spend her whole time playing with us… Tigerlino: When I “accidently” knocked the Christmas tree over and ruined Christmas. How was I to know it wasn’t a new scratching post?
Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why? Roxy & Tigerlino: BOTH!! They are easy to manipulate… MOL
What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you? Roxy: That just because I’m awake means I’m ready to do anything… Tigerlino: That they are my owners (but you and I know better…;-) )
Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!
