Today is a HOLIDAY!

Did you know that?  That today is a holiday?  Well it is. Today is my Aunt Tina’s birthday! Awesome huh?  I wanted to send my Aunt Tina a huge piggy hug.  I’ve looked long and close, here and far and everywhere for just that perfect card.  Finally I called a family meeting together to find just the perfect birthday greeting.  I couldn’t trust snail mail to get it there so I thought I would post it here for all of my friends to see.

Happy birthday Aunt Tina!!

Spotlight Thursday – Meet Simson

Spotlight Thursday

Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY.  This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better.  Some of them, you may already know.  We hope that you enjoy this series!

Name:  Simson – but my humans call me Simmie.

Age:  3.5 years old so I have a lot of energy!

Location:  Just outside Stockholm in Sweden

Web/Blog Page:  https://ladyfi.wordpress.com/

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? I was only 17 months old when I came to live with my new parents, my two new human small people and another dog (my aunt) called Ruby – so I was a bit nervous at first and shy.

What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home?  Well, I had never been allowed upstairs before so my mum and Ruby taught me how to go upstairs so that I could sleep on the humans’ bed. I knew then that I had found a slice of heaven!

What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home?  I’m quite a good boy, but had a few toilet accidents inside the house when I was younger. Also, I’ve eaten sandwiches off plates and my mum was very angry with me, so I don’t do it anymore. My humans always let me lie on them and they stroke me so I know how much they love me anyway.

Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why? Well, Mum works at home a lot so I spend a lot more time with her and she takes me and Ruby for lovely, long walks where I can run off the leash, so I think she is closest to me. If I look sad and bat my eyelids, then she will forgive me… 😉

What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you?  Humans think I’m very goofy – but that’s just the outside. I’m actually a very gentle and clever dog.

Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!

It Wasn’t Me… This Time

Every once in a while, I get a story that I just *have* to pass along.  This is one of those times.  It is way too funny for sure.  Many of you know that my cousin Sherlock Bones lives in Chicago, Illinois.  Sherlock Bones is 5 – like me – and he’s a Basset Hound.  Awesome cousin for sure!

Mom is sitting on the couch last night watching television and she gets a text from her sister, my Aunt Tina.  Mom reads it and then starts laughing.  So of course you know all of us anipals have to go up to mom and ask her what’s so funny.

Aunt Tina bought a pizza for the family last night, put it way back on the kitchen counter and went for a quick run through the neighborhood.  My cousin Maverick had went to the bathroom to wash up and was going to eat when he was finished.  In the meantime, guess who smelled the pizza?  If you said Sherlock Bones, we have a winner!

Somehow Sherlock learned how to reach further back on the kitchen counter and helped himself to some dinner.

In just a short time span, Sherlock Bones ate 8 boneless wings and three slices of pizza.

He then proceeded to stash three more slices of pizza in the sofa.  You know so he could have a midnight snack.  The dog has skills.

I’m thinking that one day when I grow up I can try to be like him… looks down at my miniature pot-belly and short legs, okay maybe not.

After his dinner, he stretched out on the sofa belly up full from his adventure.

Texts went back/forth between mom and Aunt Tina – all full of sarcasm and fun.  Then Aunt Tina sent the final picture of Sherlock Holmes laying on the sofa all sad.  Why was he sad?  Because he spent a solid ten minutes looking for his ‘stashed’ pizza in the sofa and couldn’t find them.  He could smell them but they were gone.  Aunt Tina had found them and removed them from the sofa.

I guess Sherlock Bones was so heartbroken.

Bashful is Home!

Oh piggy heavens!  Bashful has made it home from Auntie Sharon in Australia!   He came in the mail and of course daddy would not let me open it until mom got home last night from the worky place.  It was a funny thing too.  It sounded like there was a party going on in that box.  In fact, this song was playing.

20140515-085701.jpg

Snorticles.  It was constant.  I kind of got used to it and was dancing and singing that catchy little tune myself.  When mom came home, I FINALLY got to open the box.  Bashful brought home a friend.  May I present to you Koishi.  Koishi in Japanese means pebble.  Here is the Japanese writing for it:  小石   Cool huh?  That Koishi is a looker – so pretty and beautiful in her kimono.  I know that Princess Coralena, Virginia and Rockelle were all in awe over her outfit.  There is a slight language barrier but I think we can get the meaning to a lot of things she is trying to say.

The first thing she wrote was 私は恥ずかしがり屋の愛 which in Japanese language is Watashi wa hazukashi gari-ya no ai.  Do you know what that means?  I got out my piggy translator and looked it up.  It says, “I love Bashful”.  Isn’t that the sweetest?  That rock of mine certainly has the “IT” factor in picking up the ladies doesn’t he?

All of the rock clans and I stayed up late last night talking and catching up on everything that has been going on here at the Hotel Thompson.  It was a late night into the morning but that was okay.  It was a stormy night here last night with thunder and lightening.  For a while, we lost power and everything was dark.  That’s okay though.  Koishi settled right beside Bashful and finally fell asleep in his arms.  It was adorable!

20140515-085708.jpg

You gotta see some of the other items that came home with Bashful from Auntie Sharon.  First up, this adorable cute little keychain.  OMP (Oh m pig!)  Mommy fell IN LOVE with this keychain.  That soup in the bowl looks so real – like it’s going to pour out at any minute.  Isn’t is to die for?!

It’s so cute.  We had to put it on display in our curio cabinet.  We don’t want anything to happen to it!

20140515-085718.jpgThen, there was this headband.  Daddy had a FIT about it.  He immediately had to take it out of the package and put it on.  Snorts – it was too funny.  I’ll have to post about that situation next week.  When I tell you that daddy of mine is two scoops past crazy – I am not joking.  But I do have to give him this.  The man has skills.  Skills of stupidity but skills.  It’s okay though.  Mommy took the headband and wrapped it back up to put in our showcase.  We don’t want anything to happen to it.

20140515-085731.jpg

Also in the box were these cute little girls – I think they were made of wood.  Help me out Auntie Sharon if I’m wrong.  They were adorable!  I think perhaps they may look innocent and sweet but I think they were the ones starting up the party in the box with I Think I’m Turning Japanese.  Really, snorts, I do.

Of course, mommy put them in the curio cabinet as well.  They are too adorable and look so cute in the cabinet with the keychain and headband.

20140515-085725.jpg  And do you know what else Auntie Sharon found and sent to mom?  Minnie Mouse boxes – OMP (oh my pig).  I haven’t heard mom squeal that loud in a long time.  These two little boxes sit inside of each other.  They are precious!  Mommy was overly thrilled with them.

We can’t thank you enough Auntie Sharon for hosting Bashful and the wonderful gifts.  I really hope that Koishi will be happy here at the Hotel Thompson.   I hope I translated this correctly:

あなたに感謝し、私はあなたを愛して
Anata ni kansha shi, watashi wa anata o aishite

Best Blog Around the World

Speechless – that’s what this little piggy is right now.

It doesn’t happen very often because well we *all* know I love to talk – about everything and anything.  But today, I’m speechless.  My cousin Sammy at http://onespoiledcat.wordpress.com/ nominated me for the Best Blog Around the World Award.  Swoon – squeal!

I absolutely LOVE awards and it’s from my cousin Sammy.  Thank you Sammy – thank you so very much!!  I’ve never seen this award and I think it’s totally piggy fascinating!

And, better yet is all you have to do in receiving the award is:  accept it, thank the giver and nominate six other friends.  Not bad at all!  I’ve said it and I’ll say again – Thank You Sammy!

Here are my nominees – in no particular order 🙂  Enjoy my friends!

My Aunt Came for a Visit

20140107-081709.jpg

20140107-081716.jpg

So this past weekend, my Aunt Tina came home for a visit.  She lives near the the outskirts of Chicago in Illinois.  Right before she came home, they got a huge SNOW storm.  This is my cousin Sherlock Bones going outside to see snow and do his business.  First off, I can’t imagine snow this deep.  Heck, it’s hard for this little piggy to imagine snow period since I’ve never seen it.  Second off, thank goodness I have a wee-wee patch in my bedroom.  I just don’t see myself as a ‘going outside to tread through the snow to find grass to take a pee kind of oinker’.  I guess you could say that I’m a little spoiled like that.  Just a tiny bit.

So, Aunt Tina came home to get away from the cold and snow to find what?  Not snow but single digit cold.  PLOL (Piggy laughing out loud).  Way to go Mother Nature in turning a twist of bad luck.  It is funny though in one way evil twist of nature.  You see Aunt Tina used to live in Louisiana.  The only thing they had to worry about there were perhaps rain and hurricanes.  Now, well, I think this picture tells you everything Aunt Tina and her family think about this time of the year.

Albert’s New Tag

So the other night, my Aunt Tina sent my mommy a picture of a car tag that mommy went bonkers over.  So much so, that Aunt Tina ordered it and sent it to my mommy for Christmas.  This is the third package that we got this week 🙂

Aunt Tina said that she actually saw it on the back of a Smart Car.  And well since mommy has a Smart Car and she’s a fanatic, Aunt Tina thought mom would love this.  And she was right!

When you figure it out, you just *know* that it is right up mom’s alley.  Can you figure it out?  Think about it – wait for it – wait for it 🙂  It’s all mom, isn’t it?

Thank you Aunt Tina for making mom’s year – she absolutely LOVES this and has already put it on Albert.

Oh Auntie Sharon!!

As I said earlier, last week was kind of a blur for poor mom with running here and there and everywhere.  Some days I don’t think she even knew which end was up or if she was coming or going. I received three packages almost back to back.  They say good things come in threes and I guess ‘they’ are right.  I was one little happy oinker over the weekend with all of my gifts.

The first package was from my brother by another mother.  You can see that earlier in today.  The second one was from my Auntie Sharon in Australia.  She is the BOMB – She is the GREATEST – She is my Auntie and I loves her!!  Piggy licks.

I got this second box and again helped mommy open it.  You see,  this little piggy has an amazing and powerful snout – just ask daddy – snorts.

I opened up the box and what fell out?  A cute, adorable, attractive little piggy that looked just like me!  It was a mini-me in fact.  It had my markings – see the little skunk mark on its head.  It was small like me.  It was irresistible like me.  I fell totally hooves over head in love with my new little friend.  I shall call him Bacon II.

Isn’t Auntie Sharon so talented??  Well you haven’t seen anything yet.

Auntie Sharon also made me a cowl scarf.  OMP (oh my pig)!  It’s pink, heavy material with black eyes and a black tail in the back.  Now, I did let mommy put it on me and I ran back to my room and jumped in bed – snorts.  It was so warm on my little belly (snorts – I know ‘little’ belly).  I absolutely LOVE IT.  I have to be careful with it.  Mom likes it too.

We both felt the love that Auntie Sharon put into it.  It is that amazing!  How in the world did this little oinker get so lucky to have such wonderful and sweet friends to think about me.  I am by far the luckiest little piggy in the entire world!  I love you Auntie Sharon.  Thank you so much my sweet dear friend for thinking of me.  I will treasure my cowl scarf and Bacon II all of my life!
