Rocky’s Nut Brunch

Today let’s talk about something we have heard of – The RMS Titanic.  Such a remarkable ship for its time that had such a tragic ending.  We know the basics the the Titanic:  a British passenger ship that collided with an iceberg on April 15, 1912 on its maiden voyage.  This huge ship could accommodate over 2,453 passengers at one time and had 885 crew members which for the time period was amazing to say the least.  However, due to a coal strike causing many crossings to be cancelled, the maiden voyage had only 1,317 passengers with the crew members.  Out of 2,202 people on board the Titanic, only 710 people survived the aftermath of the sinking.  That’s almost 1,500 people passing at one time – can you believe that?!

But here is something for you to think about.  The Titanic sunk in 1912.

In 1898 – way before the time of the Titanic – author Morgan Robertson wrote a book called Titan or in some places you will call it Futility.  There are so many similarities between the two:

→ Both described as unsinkable.  Both had a shortage of lifeboats.  Both struck an iceberg.  Both when down in the month of April.  The majority of both of the passengers/crew members died.

So there you go – what are the odds?  Did Robertson glance into the future?  Or was a dream of something to take place?  You decide.

Mommy Got Some Piercings

Can you believe this?  Mommy got these piercings today.  She says that it reminds her of her childhood and that she *had* to get them. Rolls piggy eyes.

Dad said all that she needed was some more holes in her head.

Do you recognize the characters?  Pac-Man.  Dad said that mommy played that game during her teens like there was no tomorrow. Heck, she still plays this game today.

Strange that adults do that.

So what do you think?  Yay or Nay?

Bashful is OFF

This past weekend, mom/dad took Bashful for a visit to our local Kroger where he got his flu shot and a general look over.  We had to make sure he was prepared for the winter, for the flu and for his next adventure.  He took it very well and not one time did he cry during the shot.  Special thanks to April our pharmacist who assisted with Bashful.  She even held his hand while she did it.

Afterwards, April checked him out to make sure he was okay, spoke with him for a few minutes and answered any of his questions he had.  I think Bashful even told April where his next destination was – but don’t worry April is not telling.

Will it be somewhere warm?  Cold?  Tropical?  Sandy?  Who knows where that little tyke of mine will land.  But I can tell you this.  Hopefully, he will be there in time to celebrate the holidays with his host family.  That I’m keeping my hooves crossed to make sure.  So host family if you are reading this, you might want to make some extra food.  Bashful LOVES to eat.  I wonder where he gets that from?  Snorts!

April Fool’s Day?

Happy April Fool’s Day my friends.  What?  That’s not how it’s suppose to go?  Oh, I get it.  I’m suppose to “fool” you into something that you are not aware of.  Oh I see – that’s how it works.  Well, since I’ve already blown that part let me go in another direction.  That would be fun, right?  Nods piggy head – sure it will be.

I will tell you three things.  ONE of them is true.  YOU guess which one.  How’s that for an April Fool’s Day?  These may be tough so work it out my friends.

Statement 1 –

Since mommy loves the Mickey Mouse so much, dad thought he would meet her half way.  He loves the rock group KISS.

So, daddy compromised and got this rocking Mickey Mouse/KISS tattoo this past weekend.  Cool huh?

It looks tough.  It looks cool.  Mommy loves it.  Daddy loves it.  It’s a win-win situation.  Don’t you think it’s groovy?

.

Statement 2 –

Oh dear piggy heavens help me – please help me!  Mom and dad are doing a complete renovation here at the Hotel Thompson.  Work started today and should be completed by Friday, April 17, 2015.

We are talking gut work – front room, kitchen and hallway.  Out with all of the old – furniture, carpet and yucky linoleum in the kitchen.  Painted walls, new floors and new furniture – perhaps some other really cool stuff.

All by Friday, April 17, 2015.  Can I come live with you?

Statement 3 –

Our next door neighbor is getting a piggy – squeals – I’m going to have a girlfriend for real!  They’ve talked about it for a while now.

I’m so excited.  I can’t wait for you any longer Miss Piggy. 😦

There you go my friends.  Three statements – which one is the truth?  Go!

I’m Moving to Hollywood!

Maxwell’s agent called me and gave me the great news this morning. I’m so excited. Mom and dad are excited as well. We are all packing and preparing for the move cross country. YAY!!

I’m going to be in Hollywood! You’re going to see my name in lights. I’m going to be a STAR like I was meant to be.

So I guess, this will be my last post. 😦

Just joking! You can’t get rid of me that fast! There is no way I could leave my friends here. Ya’ll mean the world to me. You let my inner pig come out and play. I love you all each and every one for listening to me and my rambling thoughts! Happy April Fools Day my friends!
