The other night, mom/dad took Bashful out for some Mexican food. They like to call that his “Going Away” Party. He gobbled down his two hard shelled beef taco’s and then flirted with all of the staff talking about his adventures. The places my rock has been! The restaurant even told hi Bon Voyage to his next trip. Heck, I wished we had signed Bashful up for Skymiles. Just think of the miles we could have accumulated over the years.
But at last, mom took him to the ‘airport’ this morning and sent him off on his next adventure. Where will he land? What will he do? What will he eat? Where will he roll? And the most important question – Who will he be visiting?

You got it! Bashful came home from his adventure visiting Sam from Tails Around the Ranch. He has talked non-top about his fun times. Cause you know some things that happened on his trip stay on the trip if you know what I mean. Snorts with piggy laughter. We had a rock party over the weekend to welcome him back home with his new ‘friend’. That’s right my friends. Bashful has brought yet another girl home. Sighs – he is such a stud rock. ❤
Without further ado, please let me introduce you to Roxann. Now Roxann is special. Roaxnn is a naturalized rock via all the way from the beach in Cozumel. Here’s the kicker. Roxann is around 5,000 years old – stunner huh? Who said with age comes disgrace. Roxann is kicking it with her beautiful blonde hair, blue eyes and red lipstick. Can you say hubba-hubba? Her birthday is March 4th.
And here’s the kicker. Sam found Roxann and Bashful in a corner snickering one day. When they were asked what they were doing, they both blushed to the high heavens. And when the box came to my crib, they were both snickering too. But this time, they were in separate compartments in their packaging. That might be good because who wants to see gravel appearing in 9 months? Snorts with piggy laughter – I’m too young to be a grandpa again.
So my dear sweet friend Sam – thank you so much for hosting my little guy.
Where will Bashful go next time in his travels? Stay tuned my friends!

Never fear my friends – have you been wondering about Bashful and his antics of late? Well, I’m glad to report that he has been settling down here at the Hotel Thompson for a much needed rest these past couple of weeks. He advised that he had jet lag something wicked from his last trip so rest for the weary huh?
But never fear. He is still going strong and he and the other pet rocks have been putting their heads together to come up with a contest for very soon – so be on the lookout for that okay. It should be a real hoot.
AND the rock clan has something BIG they are also working on for the end of May – doesn’t that pique your interest? They never slow down – what can I say. Just like Bashful taking time out to explore and have fun with some of his friends in this picture. Can you spot him?

Welcome my friends with our Journey to Israel series. If you have missed the previous two editions please see them at Part I and Part II. This is a wonderful trip that my Aunt took around the Christmas holidays. She was willing to share her adventure with everyone here in blogville. Today she will focus on some sights that she was able to check out. Here you go – hope you enjoy 🙂

Isn’t this just beautiful!?
You think of Israel and it really doesn’t come to mind the beauty of palm trees. I thought of flat lands, mountain areas, a lot of churches and history. But we so much more there. The weather was perfect for our adventures. It almost felt like spring/fall – coolness in the air and not hot at all. We visited at a perfect time because in the summer months temperatures can exceed 109 degrees – way to hot for adventures.
This beautiful picture of palm trees was taken near Masada which is in the southern district of Israel.
On this date, we went through the Masada National Park. There was a small fee to access and explore the park – which I highly recommend you visit. There are actually two paths that you can take for your explorations –
- The Snake Trail leaves from the eastern (Dead Sea) side at the Masada Museum and gains 980 feet in elevation. It is thought that hiking this path is considered part of the “Masada experience”.
- The Roman Ramp trail is also very steep, but has less elevation gain, and is accessed from the western side of the mountain by car.
Here is another picture to the left of some of the paths at Masada. Can you see the beauty – the mountains, the sky and all of the old rocks?
It’s not an easy path to walk and plan on taking lots of breaks to enjoy the scenery. And just to let you know – the path that we walked was equivalent to walking 91 flights of stairs – so says the Apple Health App. Can you believe that?!
Also – have fresh batteries in your camera. You don’t want to miss anything and you definitely want to be able to look at these awesome pictures after your return home from your adventure.
I leave you this week with another picture from the Snake Trail path and of course a food pic – no blog would be complete without some type of food porn. I hope you enjoyed today. Join me next week for another edition of Journey to Israel.

Spotlight Thursday
Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY. This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better. Some of them, you may already know. We hope that you enjoy this series!
Name: Speedy
Age: 4
Location:
Web/Blog Page: Speedy the Cheeky House Bunny on blogger and Speedy the Cheeky Rex Rabbit on wordpress for my followers there (Be sure to pop over and say hey – remember to tell Speedy that Bacon and Houdini sent you.)
What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? Daddy petted me in the hutch I was in and Mummy was petting another rex in the same hutch. That is when Daddy picked me up for a cuddle which was very nice but he seemed sad. He then passed me to mummy for a cuddle and I knew she was like home. She smelled of home so I started to tooth purr which she commented on to Daddy. Hehehehe –
think Mummy fell in love with me in that moment.
What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home? I knew the moment they came back for me after they put me back in my hutch. They put me back and left. I poked my head out of the hutch and said don’t leave me but they left. But then the most amazing thing happened a little while later. They came back for me. Mummy held me giving me a big cuddle and that was the moment I knew I was home safe in her arms, After that they popped me into a carrier and drove me home.
What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home? hehehe – that would be when I escaped from the kitchen and found my way into the lounge. hehehe I bit through Daddy’s Speaker Cables from his surround sound…hehehe oops!
Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why? Hehehe – that’s easy. While Daddy like’s to give me cuddles and sneak me extra treats, its Mummy who will do anything for me and spends the most time with me, playing, cuddles. And she doesn’t shout at me when I’m naughty. She just laughs and scolds me just a little bit…hehehe.
What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you? A lot of humans think I am stupid with no character. They are completely surprised that I love to play and have fun adventures and that I am very friendly. Most humans think that about all rabbits – that we just sit in our hutches not doing very much and just eat food all day long but they are so wrong. Take us buns out of that environment and give us space to run and play and you get to see how much fun we can be and how affectionate we can be too!

Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend Speedy – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!

Snorts my friends. Let’s just call today rambling pig day. I have lots of things to ponder and talk about.
I’ll try not to boar you – snorts with piggy laughter. Just want to express some things that I have thought about or happened to me in the past couple of weeks.
For instance. The other day I went up the street to Nana’s. There was a house full of humans and anipals there. We were all gathered around talking, eating and laughing. I didn’t think anyone would hear so I farted. Hey, don’t frown. Mom always tells me it’s better out than in. Unfortunately, it was loud. Four people turned around and looked me. For a minute there, I thought I was on the television show The Voice and I was winning. Mom just laughed at it and told me it w
as okay.
Also one day, mom kept telling daddy she was going to fix my favorite for dinner – fish taco’s. Daddy kept getting this disgusted look on his face and looking at mom like she had finally stepped over the fine line of insanity. She kept telling daddy I was going to absolutely LOVE her fish tacos, going on and on about them. And you know what? She was right. I do LOVE her fish tacos. What’s not to like huh?

Do you ever come off of weekend feeling more tired than you did going into the weekend? That’s the way it seemed here this weekend at the Hotel Thompson. Mom/dad were on the constant go – but before I snort about that, let’s talk about my Bashful. He came home last week! Mom came home late from work one night and found a box sitting on her doorstep. She looked at the return address and knew it was Bashful coming back from his visit with Denny and Reilly. She came in telling me that Bashful was home!

We both dug into the box to find our little guy. And not only was Bashful in the box but so was his friend Sweet Pea. They have stayed up late at night and talked so much to the other pet rocks here for nights now. There is no slowing down the rock clan. I think they are silently putting together a party that they are going to talk to mom/dad about later. Can you imagine that party!? I’m kind of looking forward to it… but don’t tell anyone – that’s our secret for now okay.

But also in the box from Denny and Reilly were a couple of gifts that I have just piggy swooned over my friends. One of them was a box of Barnum’s Animal’s crackers – limited edition. Oh my piggy heavens. First of all – I absolutely LOVE animal crackers. They are up there on my top favorite three snackables and these are so cool! I kept telling mommy, “Give it to me – give it to the piggy”. She told me to be nice though and look at the other gift that was in the box. It was wrapped up in paper and mommy had to unwrap it. What was it? What could it be?

Squeals to the high heavens – it’s a mini-me named Elvis! Look at this cute little pig and he’s black – LIKE ME. I couldn’t believe it. He is so adorable! And mommy said his name was on his neck – Elvis. OMP! He is a perfect addition here at the Hotel Thompson. I told mommy to put him on our book shelves in the front yard. He gets to sit right next to our ninja cow – don’t ask – snorts. Isn’t he beautiful?!
Thank you so very much Denny and Reilly for hosting my Bashful, showing him the bestest of times and my gifts – I love them!
So that brings us to this weekend. Busy, busy and more busy. I think it was a race to see how much could mom/dad do in two days. Really I do believe that. They got up Saturday and went to the worky place. Mom really wants to finish up her year end totals for 2015 and she is getting there. Then she can start work on taxes – shaking piggy head. I don’t think I will see mom until this Summer – snorts with piggy laughter. After mom got done working almost a full day, they ate dinner out and went by the pharmacy. By the time they got home, we anipals got some snuggles and hugs and then it was time for bed. Where did Saturday go huh?
And then Sunday was just as rushed. Mom/dad talked to Easy’s parents in France first thing. You should have hear mommy laughing so hard with Easy’s mom. They were having a blast of a good time. Now, I want you to know during this time I was a perfect pig. I slept close to mom snuggled down next to her legs behaving myself. I can not say the same for my little brother Houdini. Houdini does not like to share and this day was no exception. Houdini kept attacking mom’s fingers and hands trying to get her attention. The only time he behaved was when daddy held him. Then Houdini would hear mom and Easy’s mom voice and want to go at mom again. It was hilarious!
After the phone call, mom went to give plasma at the clinic (#14 donation if I say – she committed to 20). Afterwards, mom/dad went for lunch. Once they were nicely full, they went grocery shopping. Snorts – what a perfect time huh? You are so full that you just want to get what you need and leave. But I’m glad to report that mom had almost $30.00 in coupons. Yay huh?
So you see, by the time they did all of this, where did the weekend go? I demand a repeat without any errands or work. What do you think? How was your weekend my friends?

Oh Squeals my friends – guess who made it home?? That pet-rock of mine Bashful!
He came knocking on the front door of the Hotel Thompson late Monday afternoon. I was so excited. I could hear the little tyke snoring in the box and knew exactly what it was. Of course, daddy said I had to wait until mommy got home from the worky place to let Bashful out to freedom. And that was good because the little guy was snoring so sweetly – imagine the trip across the pond. I would have been passed out too!
But once mommy got home and the box was opened – oh my piggy heavens. Bashful was non-stop talking about all of his adventures with sweet Fozzie in Australia. WOW – did he do bunches of cool things. One of the things was he went up in a hot air balloon and not only soared with the clouds but got a certificate about it as well. OMP Squeals!! If you want to read all about Bashful’s travels and adventures while in Australia, a great place to start will be here.
And look at all of the treats Bashful came home with – double squeals. Me and mom were fighting dad off of the cookies. They are so delicious!! And of course, Bashful came home with friends…. but that’s another story for another posting that is coming soon. Real soon. Be ready my friends – it’s a stunner!
And just where in the world will Bashful roll up to next? hhmm – makes you wonder doesn’t it. Will it be in your neck of the woods? (P.S. For those on the list, you haven’t been forgotten. It just takes time. An email will be sent to the next person very soon for the next adventure. AND, if YOU want to be put on the list, email me at Bacon.Thompson@gmail.com my friends).

WOW – Can you believe it’s been one year since my little international pet rock Bashful started traveling the world? It seems like he’s been doing it forever but it’s been one year – 365 days today – that he boarded his first flight and took off to parts unknown. He’s become such a little explorer!
And don’t worry folks if you signed up to host my little rock, you are on a waiting list. I keep up with. If you want to be put on the waiting list, shoot me over an email at baconthompson@gmail.com
And for those that have been following his adventures everywhere in the world, do you remember his first place that he visited?
Oh, you want a hint huh? Okay. Do you recognize this butt from anyone? Snorts.

Snorts – oinks – squeals. I couldn’t resist. My little Bashful’s very first trip was to see Easy in France. Do you remember this picture of his adventure?

He has been all over the world traveling, racking up airline miles, having wonderful adventures, meeting new people and bringing smiles to the world. Thank you so much my friends for showing my little tyke a great time and being part of these experiences!

Hello my spooky friends. Since the 13th this month falls on the weekend, a Sunday at that, I thought I would twist things up a bit. I want you to look closely at this picture below. A wonderful, dark, mysterious abandoned house. It actually looks like it might be falling apart. Is it haunted? I’m not sure if there’s things that go bump in the night.
Here’s the question, would you spend a night in this home? By yourself? Would you?
