Shopping, Weekend, Pet Rocks and Such

Oh my sweet friends – I hope you had a wonderful LONG weekend – a happy one with lots of rest and relaxation.  I did – snorts – but I can’t say the same for my humans.  You see, my humans have been slackers lately.  There I said it and they know it’s true.  Mom has been playing catch up with so many things that she has been juggling in her life.  Finally, I had to sit her down this weekend and have a human to piggy talk with her.  She has to catch up… like NOW.  So Saturday, I made her finish doing some shopping for me.  I have so many things to get sent out… you know a piggy has to put his hoof down, right?

But first up – I think I have forgotten something to post about Bashful.  I’m sure some of you saw where when he came back from Australia this past time he had a son named Chip.   Who can deny that parentage with the matching grin, huh?  You can check the post out here of when Bashful came home. He had a ball in Australia visiting Fozzie while they went on vacation to the Great Barrier Reef.  But they also found out about Bimby having his baby out of wedlock when they did the movie “Rockadile Dundee”.  Long story short, Bimby went into rehab (bless her heart) and Bashful signed paperwork taking custody of his son Chip.  Chip was just a mere baby when he came home here to the Hotel Thompson so we’ve had to get him through the diaper stage – unbelievable how much water a little rock can make my friends.  Shakes piggy head.

And of course when Bashful came home, not only did he have his son Chip but he also came home with Hudson.  See, I don’t believe I posted about this.  It’s been so crazy here at the Hotel Thompson over the past several months!  Hudson is adorable, isn’t he?  All the way from Australia and what a cute little accent.  He has been hanging out here with the other pet rocks and has a cute little chemistry with Rockelle who is also from Australia – who would have guess huh?.

You see I’m telling you all of this because I *finally* got mom to get all of my shopping done so that we could send out not only Bashful but his son Chip to the next person on the list.  So you see this bag to the right?  There are four envelopes in that bag that got mailed out this morning from the good ole United States Postal Service.  One of them contain Bashful and Chip.

Three other envelopes are gifts for different friends in blogville.  Just who will receive them?  What do they contain?  Aren’t you excited to see what goes where and who gets what?  I know!  The anticipation is killing this little oinker.  I just hope mom remembered to pack everything I told her and to sign the cards – snorts.  Wouldn’t that be hilarious?  Maybe not… maybe I need to go ask her to double check.

.

And of course after mommy finished going to the post office, filling out Customs declarations and spending money, she just had to come back to a nice gooey ooey Salted Pecan cupcake.  She said that was her payment for standing in line and filling our forms for me.  Sure mom – that’s fine.  As long as you got my packages out – knock yourself out.

Snorts and oinks my friends.  I’ll definitely keep you posted on the travels of my packages 🙂

31 Days of Spook – Story Submission

Hello my spooky friends.  Thank you so very much for staying with me during my 31 Days of Spook. Have you been enjoying the stories, the thrills, the things that go bump in the night?   Today, we have another guest story submission.  This one is from my friend Bree.  Do you know her?  She’s Reilly and Denny’s mom.  If you don’t know them, you have so got to visit their blog.  They are great.  And personally, I don’t think those pooches take a bad picture – I’m just saying.  Please make it a point to visit my friend Bree – tell her that Bacon sent you.  This is her tale – enjoy my friends!

“When I was very little – only 4 years, we lived in London in a very old house. One morning I woke up and was very sick and feeling very scared but then this little old lady came into room and sat on the bed talking to me. She told me some wonderful stories in her soft Scottish accent and she would sing to me too – and lull me to sleep. Every morning she would come and visit. She was very small only about 4′ 5”, had grey/white hair pulled back tightly and wore a little cap like the the one Andy Capp wears. She also had a little white pipe – like the one Popeye had. She wore a long black skirt with big pockets on the front of it, big brown lace up boots and had layers of sweaters on. She smelled of lavender and even to this day I still think of her when I smell it.

My Mom came in one morning and asked me who I was talking too. I didn’t know her name so I pointed to her and said, “Grandah”. Mom looked around and couldn’t see anyone and yet there she was sitting on the end on the bed.  Whenever any of my brothers or sister was sick she would appear and we always knew she was about the house because we suddenly would smell the lavender. Our Mom too smelled the lavender but never saw or knew who Grandah was until one day she showed us a very old photo of our great grandma and it was her!  She had been dead for over thirty years and yet there she would come visit us when ever we were sick and we knew she would make us feel better.”

Bacon the Amazing

Snorts. That got your attention huh? After showing everyone my delectable little back side yesterday, there were some requests to see that tail movement in action. A couple of days ago, mom caught me running through the Hotel Thompson and took a little video. There two things I need to warn you about in this video.

1 – mom has a real southern twang; and,
2 – thankfully daddy has shorts on. Ha!

I hope you enjoy me in action doing what I do best. ❤️  These days it’s getting harder and harder for mom to catch me in action.  You see I’ve gotten bigger which means I’ve gotten faster in disappearing.  And, mom can catch me and hold the video camera at the same time – snorts.  Happy viewing!

P.S.  You also get to see that disgusting piggy gate that keeps me out of my goal – the kitchen and the ice box – snorts.

Bashful Made it Home!

20140126-143250.jpg

Bashful sweet Bashful finally made in home to the Hotel Thompson this weekend.  He came riding in on his skateboard that he got for Christmas at Misaki’s.  He was tired, had jetlag  and had a LOT of explaining to do on his travels back home.  I let him get some sleep but told him we needed answers.

Over breakfast this morning, he told us that he had an awesome time with Misaki and family.  He spoke of fun playing cards, riding his skateboard down some ramps, getting some beer and seeing some sights.  He also said it rained a lot more there than here in south Georgia – snorts.  He has memories that he will never forget and so much fun!

And he brought home some gifts.

A piggy coaster that reads, “The best way to behave is to misbehave”; some seaside rock candy in the star (really delicious!); some Percy Pig candies (I can’t get enough of these!); a wonderful keychain to remind me of my travels and a pink piggy tote bag.

Thank you Misaki so very much for the treats, the kindness of hosting my Bashful  and showing him a great time.  I think he even came home with the cutest little accent!  I am so jealous of it. He has definitely gotten the rock girls heads turning here at the Hotel Thompson with that accent – snorts.

.

AND, Bashful came home with a friend.  Misaki said he was “sweet but slightly dim”.  I think they got into great trouble traveling together on the way home.  It could account for his interview with Rolling Stone magazine – snorts.

May I present to you the  newest member of our rock clan – Benedict Cumberock.

Bashful Came Home From France!

For those that don’t know about Bashful my pet rock – he is a traveling stone always out for adventure. When Bashful is at home, he goes on field trips with mom/dad all over town taking pictures and videos. He then posts them on my page under “On the Road with Bashful – Field Trip”. He begged and begged me to let him go and visit one of my friends. I had mom make a few contacts and the next thing I knew, he was traveling over 4,000 miles to visit Easy in France. You can read about his adventures at http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/. And if you haven’t met Easy yet, you should. He is the bestest pal a pig could ever have. I mean that from the deepest parts of my pot belly.

Bashful came back with the cutest French accent. He has been talking non-stop since he got home a couple of days ago. It’s taking me this long to listen to all of his stories and for him to get over his jet lag from the long airplane ride… and might I add he went first class. Only the best for my little rock 🙂

While he was gone, he got into all kinds of antics with Easy. Personally, I think this is my favorite picture of his trip and he has a lot of explaining to do. That’s right, he smoked the tomato plant in a homemade bong. Tsk-Tsk you are in trouble little guy. You know where mommy works! This picture has circulated around at her worky place and you were almost put on a WANTED bulletin – PLOL (pig laughing out loud). They said they could forgive you though since you were wearing that adorable hat.

.

Bashful had a wonderful trip with Easy. They watched a parade together. They ate delicious meals together. They rode in the Elephant Skate together and went on a scavenger hunt for a Geocache. Bashful even got to be the Rock Scout (GPS). They communed in nature, wrote poetry and helped put together Easy’s new bed. He has done things that I’ve always wanted to do and perhaps one day will. I can’t thank you enough Easy and Staff for taking him like your own, giving him an awesome time and showing him all of your wonderful sights. He has been talking non-stop about his adventures. In fact, he’s been talking so much that he hasn’t even met Princess Coralena yet – that’s how excited he has been. That post of them two meeting will be another day. Thank you my friends from the bottom of my piggy heart.

AND, thank you for all of your gifts. You so didn’t have to! You know when your box got delivered to the Hotel Thompson, daddy made me wait until mommy got home to open up. I could hear Bashful and someone else talking and they were having a ball, laughing up the storm.

Mommy finally got home and opened the box. WOWSER! I was so piggy excited that my tail wouldn’t quit shaking back and forth. Easy and Staff sent me the softest blankie I have ever put my pot belly on – you can see it in the picture. It’s the burgundy blankie everything is sitting on. Can you believe after this picture was taken, I grabbed it and took off with it down the hall. I *knew* it was mine so I put in my bedroom. That makes sense, right? PLOL (pig laughing out loud) Mommy read a letter that Easy and Staff sent. I loved it! I told mommy that I want to put it in Bashful’s Book of Adventures that we are keeping here at the Hotel Thompson. That way, we can go back and read and see pictures from everywhere. I loved it!

Oh, and that cute lizard/froggy thing. It’s mine. I claimed it. It’s squishy. I like to throw it up in the air and play with it. Mommy is going to have to take a video of it. Easy and Staff even remembered the purr things here. They sent them some treats and everything was in French. I was awesome listening to mommy read French with a southern slang – snorts.

20130905-101538.jpg

And there was a ball cap that had France written on the back of it. I tried to get it but I think daddy is going to wear it. He loves ball caps!

Some of the items in the box mommy wouldn’t let me see. I’m not sure why. She said something about me having to wait which is so unfair because you know us piggies don’t do very well waiting. And to make it even worse, she gave those items to the purr things to handle. What is up with that?! I knew those purr things were up to no good. This just goes out to prove that they are up to something. I need to know so if any of ya’ll know, send me an email or let me know please. Kthanxbai – you can help a little pot bellied pig out, can’t you?

20130905-101524.jpg

.

And, remember I told you that I heard Bashful in the box talking to someone? He was! He has a friend that came home with him with a green card. We are going through the system now to see if he can stay here with Bashful at the Hotel Thompson. This is so cool! It’s really good that Bashful has friends that he can relate to in person, you know. This gives him people that he can talk to, listen to and go to when he has rocky problems in his life.

20130905-101530.jpg

.

Without anymore delay, let me introduce you to Manny. This picture was taken with him on my new soft blankie. His coloring is remarkable – and look at that mustache! He is so full of knowledge. He reminds me so much of Mr. Belvedere. Do you remember that show that used to be on television? Snorts. We love him so much here.

He has told us many stories about his time in France, his rock climbing days and even the time when he was in a rock band when he was younger. He is so full of stories that keep us entertained for hours. In fact, he often tells Bashful a story when they go to bed at night. It’s a blast!

And no, he hasn’t met Princess Coralena yet either. Hopefully, they both can this weekend!

Possible “Beach” Time?

Now, understand that my mom has a really drawn out southern accent.  I had to do several double takes when she said, “Possible Beach Time”.  I thought I was going to have to make her put several quarters in the swear jar.  That is until dad said it.  It was a close call for this little pig.  I thought she had finally went over that fine line of insanity… which she says is a close line – snort oink.

I think it would absolutely be a wonderful thing to dip these hooves into the ocean waters and walk on the sand.  There’s just one problem though.  I don’t do nature.  eeww – there’s no telling what little creatures would be hiding out at the beach – like seaweed, stingy fish and fish for that matter.

Seriously, I would not mind the destressing of being a beach pig, lying in the sun and playing in the water.  That could be fun – minus nature.   Heck that would be a hoot.  You know…. the original bacon in the sun.  Then again if I got too hot, we could have a problem Houston.  Everyone would come searching the bacon smell and I could be in trouble.

But just think of the beautiful sand castles that me, mom/dad could make at the beach.  My snout is a wicked tool and I could help.  You know, come up with some art like this –

Me + Beach = NOT happening.  So we need to start thinking of who is going to watch this little, sweet, precious, snuggble piggy in October when mom/dad go on vacation.  Any takers – snort.  I don’t require much.  Heck, I practically take care of myself.  I just require a few things:

  • WiFi access
  • Laptop or iPad
  • Television
  • Netflix
  • Unlimited access to the magical kingdom called a kitchen
  • My own bathroom facilities
  • Snuggy time
  • Toddler bed
  • Nightly turn down service with a bedtime story
  • Room service
  • Maid to clean said room
  • Massage therapy

See, it’s not much.  Any takers?  XOXO – Bacon
