Boo! Cue Scary Music – It’s Friday the 13th

You know, normally this day would not bother me.  BUT, thanks to daddy I’m a nervous wreck this morning.  For some odd reason, mommy gave him control of the television remote last night thus he picked movie night.  He picked – you got it – Friday the 13th.  Mommy tried to warn me that it wasn’t pig rated and I should go to my room and watch my television.  I didn’t listen because I’m a big pig.  Why didn’t I listen??  After the movie, which I might add is oh so scary!, dad gently reminded me that today is Friday the 13th.  Gee dad, thanks so much for that wonderful and so caring reminder.

Today’s not scary.  It’s just a date, right.  Repeat after me.  It’s just a number.  Numbers are not scary.  Numbers are our friends.  Right?  I’m trying to convince myself you that there is nothing wrong with today being that evil Friday the 13th.  Really… it’s just a date.

There’s lots of Fridays in the month.  There’s a 13th in every month.  It happens every month.  So what’s the big deal?  Who am I trying to convince?  Today is a scary day.  It’s Friday the 13th!  I’ve watched the movie and what has been watched can not be unwatched.

And dad, he is milking this day for all of what it is worth.  He is SO not helping.  I know you are just paying me back for all of the times that I have ‘barked’ and oinked at you.  For all of the times that I wouldn’t share mommy with you.  I know pay back is bad.

But really, I woke up to this mask hanging on my bedroom door.  Are you trying to give this little pig a heart attack so early in the morning?  You knew I was already flipping out with the date and the movie.  Bad daddy – bad!

Then daddy, if you really are my daddy – snorts, you fixed me breakfast this morning.  I should have known you were up to no good by doing that.  You never fix me breakfast – always mommy.  And everyone, you’re probably thinking that was real sweet of ole dad doing that, right?  Until he called me for breakfast.  “Jason, your breakfast is ready.”  Really?  You’ve gone just too far with that one dad of mine.

And then dad said to mom, “Hey, let’s go to Camp Crystal Lake this weekend?”  Thud – piggy down.  Dad, I will pay you back with this date.  Really, I will.

Happy Friday the 13th my friends.

Bacon’s Tales of Terror

Welcome my friends to my Bacon’s Tales of Terror.  Today, I have another true story.  Something that happened to my mom that I want to share with you.  Are you ready?  Do you think you can stand the chills and bumps?  Here’s my hoof if you need to hold it sweet friends.

Do you remember several months when we had the awful news that Mouse Girl had passed away here at the Hotel Thompson?  You can read about it here.  This happened so out of the blue.  Mouse Girl was fine and then she was not.  The day that mom/dad came home from the vet’s office, they were both just torn apart.  Mom had called Fozziemom and they were talking about what happened.  This is where it gets weird and strange.  During their conversation, I was in the front room with mom along with Houdini and Hemi.  There was a kitty that started meowing out of the blue.  It was so strong and so loud that even Fozziemom heard it and asked about it.  Mom was looking straight at Hemi and it was not him.  The meow was strong and loud – like an adult kitty.  Everyone was bewildered.

Mom went to the front door and looked outside.  On the porch she saw a kitty perhaps just a couple of weeks old and the strong meowing was coming from that kitty.  Mom told Fozziemom she was going to investigate and would call her back.  Mom went straight outside perhaps only a couple of minutes went by from mom seeing the kitty, hanging up and going outside.  That’s when she found it – nothing.  No kitty. Nada.  Not even a trace.  What the heck?!

Our neighbor Big Daddy was sitting out front.  Mom asked him if (A) he heard it or (B) he saw it.  He saw and heard nothing which was odd because the kitty was right there.  Mom then asked the kids that were playing in front of the house if they heard or saw the kitty.  Nope.  This kitty was gone in less than 60 seconds – vanished.  Mom searched around the front yard, around the bushes and nothing.

The kitty has never been seen or heard again since this date.  Now is that weird or what?    Was it Mouse Girl saying goodbye?  Thoughts?

Bacons Tales of Terror

My dear friends – today is a very special day.  Why do you ask?  Well today is Friday the 13th.  And guess what?  It’s the only Friday the 13th we will have this year in 2016.  See, I told you it was special.

So I looked far and near and found a very special story for you my friends.  Are you ready?  Here’s my hoof in case you need to hold it.  This one might just send shivers up and down your spine and leave your night light on tonight when you go to bed.

This woman – lets just call her Judy – was in the hospital.  Every morning when the nurses would check on her and ask her how she slept the night before, she would tell them she had an awful night.  That a little girl kept coming into her room wanting to play.  And although she was sick, Judy loved children and would stay up play with the little girl for hours.  Well the nurses told Judy that there were no little children on the floor and at that time of the night no one should be visiting.  Judy shook her head and was adamant that the little girl was coming every night to play.

Later that night just like clock work, the little girl showed up again in Judy’s room.  Before the little girl could get all the way in the room, Judy snapped a picture with her cell phone.  What do you see in this picture my friends?

Bacon’s Tales of Terror

Today I have a really good tale just for you.  I hope you are brave enough to read it… and survive without wetting your pants – snorts. Today, I’m going into a different direction that I hope you enjoy.  This past weekend was so beautiful that we actually went outside on the back deck of the Hotel Thompson and spent some time around a firepit.  Don’t worry about me – I was safe with my mommy around the fire – snorts.  But as we were out there, campfire stories started to be told.  I thought I would share one that scared this little oinker beyond belief.  Buckle up your belts.  It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

There was a family that lived in a huge antebellum home in the south.  They had two adorable children that were elementary school aged, a little boy and a little girl. The parents thought they would go out on a date – something they had not done in a very long time.  They called a friend of theirs that had a teenage daughter that offered babysitting services.  She advised that she would love to sit for them on their date night.

The date night came and the babysitter came over.  The husband and wife went over all of the emergency numbers and schedule with the babysitter.  The husband advised her that with the house being so huge, they would prefer her to stay in the play room.  The play room was huge with everything you could image.  A big screen television, a satellite, computers, games, etc.

After the parents left, the babysitter played with the children for a while and then it was bedtime.  She got them settled in their rooms and told them stories to help them go to sleep.  Afterwards, she went down to the play room for the remainder of the night.

She settled in and looked around the room.  In the far right hand corner, there was a children’s rocking chair with a clown sitting in it.  She shivered.  The clown was scary.  It seemed to watch her every move. No matter what she did, the clown just seemed like it was watching her.  At times, she thought it was moving.  But it couldn’t, right?  It was just an ugly scary looking clown.  She couldn’t figure out why the couple would have it but then again this was a play room so each to their own.

Finally, she couldn’t take it any longer.  She called the father on his cell phone and asked him if she could move to another room because this clown was freaking her out.  The father told her to quietly get the children, get out of the house and go next door to the neighbor.  What?  She didn’t understand why but she did what she was told.  A few minutes later after getting to the neighbor’s house, she saw flashing lights and police cars arrive at the house she just came from.  What in the world was going on?

A few minutes more passed and then the parents of the children came home and immediately came next door.  She was so confused.  She asked the father what was going on next door.  That’s when the dad told her the news that still shakes her to this day.  For weeks, the children had been having nightmares about waking up and seeing a scary clown in their bedrooms watching them.  The parents thought it was just that – nightmares.  And then when she called about the clown in the play room watching her, they knew the nightmares were not nightmares but actually true.

You see, they didn’t have a scary looking clown doll in the play room.  The scary looking clown was actually a little person dressed up like a clown that had actually been living in the huge antebellum house for weeks waiting for the right time to kill the family.

Bacon’s Tales of Terror

Welcome my friends to another Bacon’s Tales of Terror.  I hope the spooks and goblins haven’t been chasing you down… too much – snorts.  Today we have a situation that could happen to the best of us.  Something that would scare most of us… or would it?

Here you are walking down your street minding your own business thinking of pleasant things.  Perhaps thinking of what to have for dinner or visiting a friend ‘just down the street’.  Then all of a sudden the wind picks up, the trees start to sway and out of the blue the clouds start to come over head.  You pick up your pace a bit because you know all heck is to break loose overheard.

Then that’s when you hear it.  After every step, you hear a step behind you.  You quickly turn but there’s no one there but the wind and leaves swooshing about.  It gets darker.  Then you pass a drainage hole in the sidewalk and you look down.  Oh my piggy heavens… is that a hand coming out?  What do you do?  A double take at the ‘hand’?  Do you pick up your pace hearing the steps behind you getting closer?  Do you scream?  Do you run?  What do you do my friends?

Bacon’s Tales of Terror

Welcome my friends to my monthly Bacon’s Tales of Terror.

Today we have a great one for you.  You see this is something that I saw.  Me and mom were going through some neighborhoods in her Smart car.  You know just driving around hoping that the flow of the car would make us sleepy.  What?  Yes we do that.  Mommy needs help sleeping sometimes – snorts.

So there we were on a back street and that’s when I saw this.  I started snorting… of course after I ducked down from being scared.  What the heck was that?  Mom had to make a circle and come back for a second look.  That’s when she saw it.  She would have ducked too but being in the Smart car there wasn’t much room.  So then we had to make a third circle.  You know to get it on camera.

What the heck were these people thinking?  What the heck is that?  A bird bath?  A head?  A head in a bird bath? Who lives at the house – Satan?  The Munster family?  The Adams Family?  Do birds really “drink” from that fountain?  All great questions.  What would YOU do or feel if that was in your neighborhood?  Would you walk by the house during the day?  What about night?  Would you be brave enough to walk to the door on Halloween?

Bacon’s Tales of Terror

Welcome my friends to my monthly Bacon’s Tales of Terror.  Not only is it the thirteen this month, it’s Friday the 13th.  Does that make it scarier for you?  Are you afraid of Friday the 13th?  You might want to buckle up your seat belt my friends.  Today’s Bacon’s Tales of Terror is coming straight from the Hotel Thompson.  A true story that will make you second guess what you are looking at in your own home.  A story that might make you shake and shiver… and run to your mother.

You see when mom and dad first got married they had two purr things, Hemi and Tybee.  They were brothers from the same mother and one would never think so.  Hemi is a Hemingway, you know a polydactyl purr thing, and he is orange and white.  Tybee was grey – long haired and definitely mom’s purr thing. Tybee passed away in 2009 from feline leukemia.  It was totally unexpected as he had been tested twice for the disease.

Well the other morning, I was calling for mommy to wake up for work and to feed me.  She gets up, feels and sees Hemi between her and dad in the bed.  She also feels Mouse Girl (our other purr thing) at the bottom of the bed near her feet.  Gets up and walks around the bed seeing Mouse Girl and then walks out of the bedroom shutting the door.  She opens my bedroom door and we proceed to the front room where she turns on lights.  Once she turns on lights, she sees Mouse Girl lying on the couch fast asleep.

Now this fully wakes her up.  How can Mouse Girl be asleep on the couch when she saw and felt her asleep on her feet?  This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.  Mom and dad both have felt a purr thing rubbing against their legs… like Tybee used to do.  Mouse Girl and Hemi don’t do that.  And once, mom took a picture in the bedroom of the bed and there was an outline of a purr thing in the picture on her side which was not on the bed.

Do you believe in anipal ghosts?  Have you ever experienced an anipal coming back to visit with you?

Bacon’s Tales of Terror

Oh my friends.  Can you believe that in a short couple of weeks, October will be here.  You do know what that means, right?  31 days of Spook will be on my blog!   31 days of something scary, something that goes bump in the night, ghosts and ghouls, horror, haunts and other spooks.  Shivers – I get excited just thinking about it!

I’ve been working hard here in my bedroom searching around the world for stories to tell.  It’s hard grunt work – literally.  Sometimes I even scared myself!  With all of that work, I almost forgot about September 13th. It was almost here before I knew it.

I thought to myself, “Self, what can I do for the 13th of September?  What can knock people to the floor, make them scream and run to their mothers?”  It had to be good.  It had to be awesome.  Then BAM it struck me and I took flight to the internet.  Courtesy of said internet was some random pictures I found.  You see, these pictures were so good that I think they need NO explanation.

So without further ado, BOO my friends!
