Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

05 May

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

Keeping his paws on the nuts of the world –

HAPPY CINCO de MAYO my friends!!

You’re asking yourself what does that mean?  I’m here to tell you.  May 5th is a date that is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride – to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first five years of the American Civil War.  This date of May 5th is not to be confused with September 16th which is Mexican Independence Day.

Go out and show your support for Cinco de Mayo – have some Mexican food and celebrate your support.

I know Bacon is going to encourage his mom and dad to go out for date night tonight and have fun.  I think he’s encouraging them because he thinks they will bring him back a piggy bag.  🙂 smart pig huh?

Celebrate my friends and have a great and safe time!

It’s also Kentucky Derby Day too … mint juleps to celebrate. Depending upon your bartender, you may want to nurse your mint juleps through the afternoon – some can be potent. Spoils the fun if you want to have a margarita, or two, with your Mexican dinner. 🙂

Snorts with piggy laughter. Mom had a mint julep once. It was hilarious. It was so strong! She shared it with a friend – thank goodness! XOXO – Bacon

Tacos and mint juleps…sounds like an unbeatable combo. Through in a Stanley Cup playoff game (or two) and I’m in nirvana.
