Star Wars Day!

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

Keeping his paws on the nuts of the world –

May 4th finally got here!  Today is Star Wars Day.  I know these day brings out the geek in ALL of us.  Bacon’s dad is so excited – like it was Christmas!  Stars Wars Day is always on May 4th.  Why do you ask?  Because of the ever famous play on words, “May the Force (Fourth) by with you!”

Today is a day to channel your inner self – watch any of the Star Wars movies – heck why not have a marathon?  That’s probably what Bacon’s parents are going to do here at the Hotel Thompson.  Who is your favorite character?  Favorite line?  Why not dress up like your favorite character while having your marathon movie night?  Learn some Star Wars trivia to play tonight.  I even came up with some trivia for you to know so that you can awe all of your friends.

Star Wars Trivia To Impress Your Friends:

Did you know that Carrie Fisher, Sissy Spacek, Farrah Fawcett, Barbara Hershey, Bernadette Peters, Margot Kidder, Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Cybill Shepherd, Jane Seymour, Catherine Hicks, Kathleen Turner, Linda Blair, Pamela Sue Martin and Cindy Williams were some of the few that auditioned for the roll of Princess Leia?

Did you know that Luke Skywalker’s original name for the movie was Luke Starkiller?

Did you know that David Prowse from Bristol play the role on screen of Darth Vader and his Vader’s voice was done by James Earl Jones.  The kicker was that Jones was so convinced the film was going to flop, he refused to allow his name in the original credits.

Did you know that Chewbacca was modeled after George Lucas’ dog, Indiana?

Did you know that Mel Blanc auditioned for the voice of C-3PO

And of course, we can’t leave Bacon’s mom out on this special day.  I found a picture of Dark Vader just for her – chitter chatter.  Have an awesome day friends – May the Fourth Be With You!

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks with puppy laughter!!  Oh my friends last weekend I had the bestest time ever.  First I went to my spa appointment.  There is just something so relaxing about a long hot oatmeal bath followed by a puppy massage.  Then my groomer cut me into a cute little style, dried and primped me up to look so darn cute for mommy when she picked me back up.  When mom/dad picked me back up, mom just gushed and kept giving me kisses.  She said I was her cutest little puppy.  Of course I gave her kisses too.

Then we all got into the Prius (which is awesome – I can see out all of the windows!) to drive home.  But on the way home, mom made what she called a detour.  And I have to tell you, I liked this detour thing.  Mom got me my very first ever Puppicino – thud puppy down.  That thing was fantastic!  My first taste made both of my ears go up.  Then I had to go deep down into the cup and got it all over my face.  Mom just laughed when she cleaned me up.

After I got home, mom washed my face more and I was just darn tuckered out.  Who wouldn’t be, right?  Mom said she could tell by the look on my face that I was tired so she tucked me into the big bed and laid down with me for what she called a nanny nap.  I so enjoyed that!

Yawns, I think I might still be tuckered out.  So now my friends I’m going to leave you with Jokes with Daddy.  Take it away pop!
