Journal to Healthier Living – Week 12

02 Apr

Welcome my friends.  I’m tweaking my weekly journey with my healthier living.  It’s a step in the right direction for sure.  I hope you come along for the ride.  Instead of day-to-day comments, I’m going to post something from my personal journal to share.  Hope you enjoy.  Remember all of us go down this path and we are all in it together ❤

Week of 03/25-03/31/2018 – Week 12

“Dear Journal – each day is one day closer to a better me.  Words to live by… honestly.  Changes are made bit by bit until they become second nature.  Then you throw in another change into the bit until there you go – you are exactly where you want to be.  Baby steps.  I’ve been so concerned about exercising more where I need to focus in more on completing my healing process.  I never knew that my healing would take so long.  So no more rushing to the finish line.  Now, I heal one day at a time to get closer to the next step.”

This week walked: 6.35

TOTAL 2018 Miles:  92.04

TOTAL 2017 Miles:  541.06

small goals turn into big accomplishments ❤

Oh and friends – check this out.  Last week the hub unit was begging for egg rolls and crab angels.  So like a good wife – snorts – I fixed him some home made ones in the air fryer.

It was totally yum!  It had crunch and was so wonderful.  The hub unit said it was just as good as getting them at our local Chinese restaurant.  The only thing missing was hot mustard!

That’s one thing we still want to do – fried fish in the air fryer. It’s on the list of must do’s in the near future. What I love about the air fryer is that once the food is in to cook, you are free to do whatever you need to do for the next 20 minutes or so. We love it!

Too many baby steps sometimes. But it has to get better, right?

You make me want an air fryer! I look at them and get all confused about size. Big? Little? It’s on my wish list along with all the fried foods!

I did the same – LOL. I finally settled on medium and it’s perfect for two.

As a person who specializes in behaviour change (what I do for a living) I know it is best to pick one small thing to change and do that rather than trying to change everything. Change is hard in adulthood – mainly because we control all our own reinforcers and the reinforcers we get for being healthy usually are delayed while the reinforcer of the cake is immediate!

Exactly! I’m changing one thing this week – eating cleaner. It’s a huge change but I will concentrate on that and get it down for sure. ❤

Excellent! My human had been thinking of getting one of those – couldn’t decide if it would be worth it since she rarely eats fried foods -(but the Hubster would prefer even his milk fried)!

I know the feeling. My hub is the same way. But I don’t feel as guilty when fixing him things in the air fryer.
