As Phenny said, any kind of pasta dish apart from Lasagna or Ravioli would go. Equally easy should be something with ready puff pastry (is there anyone out there who makes her/his own?) – some kind of pies with spinach and feta springs to mind. Or some bell pepper, filled – if not with minced meat, as I do not always have minced meat around, it could always be filled with feta and other vegetables – a tin/can of tomatoes, some red lentils and some frozen herbs, a few kernels of corn, some peas if you like, some spinach (I always have frozen peas and frozen spinach here).

Most recipes to just pull out of my sleeve are meat-less, at maximum some smoked B A C O N inside as I always have some smoked cubes in my fridge.

I usually DO have a packet of bell peppers, a turnip cabbage and some carrots in my fridge, some onions lying around, some tomatoes in a tin/can, some red lentils, some chickpeas, an apple or two, some potatoes, rice and pasta – and often there is also a pear …

There are also cans/tins with beans – baked beans but also kidney beans, and often there is a can/tin of tuna standing around or a glass of wieners.

So I could go for a chili with kidney beans and wiener, for a pasta sauce with bell pepper and tuna, for a pancake with marmelade (I sometimes have a sweet dinner) – or with an apple inside the pancake … there are plenty of possibilities. Not ALL would be mac and cheese.

My easiest, fastest recipe is bell peppers with onions, some herbs – and rice. Start rice. Just cook the onions still glassy, throw in cleaned and diced bell pepper and when that just about turns slightly soft add herbs. Then your rice will be done, too … If you need to, you can add some B A C O N. I usually don’t. Quick, easy, not much to wash up, not hours in the kitchen. So there you are.

I thought, since I tend to forget about Shopping around the world, I would just tell you what I do from my storage.

Well, I am the master of fast, easy dishes – I am not very much into cooking during the week but I want to eat … so that is that.

This piggy would love to snort with you :)
