Travels in the South

31 Jan

Living in the south, there are lots of comfort foods. But sometimes on a cold and rainy day, you want something that soothes your soul. Mom’s choice for that is grits with cheddar cheese and crumbled up turkey sausage. It’s hot, gooey and delicious. I hear your naysayers turning your nose up at grits. But let me tell you something. When done right like this, grits can be delicious! 😋

I have been living in the south for almost 30 years and have never been able to embrace grits.

Oh no! I bet you would eat mom’s grits. She has converted many of a person who says they don’t like grits. A little cheddar cheese with sausage and/or bacon goes a long way in the yum factor. XOXO – Bacon

I’ve never developed a taste for grits. Maybe it’s a texture thing. Although I do like steel cut oats.

Hey! I have passed grits down to my son and both of his sons. Ok…the 1 year old hasn’t gotten into the groove of it yet but we will get him there 🙂
