A lovely seasonal idea – pumpkins … I have avoided pumpkins for a long time, as I never liked the pickled version my grandmother used to buy. Then I needed a pumpkin for a cake with pumpkin (much like a carrot cake) – and after that I tried some more recipes. The well-known pumpkin-soup, of course, and a potato-salad with pumpkins. Now .. which of my specialties to choose??

Licks lips. Mom says to try any of them. My mom loves pumpkin anything. We look forward to your upcoming delight sweet friend. XOXO – Bacon

Mmm – I can see a pumpkinn menu coming up – starting with pumpkin soup (somebody has to), followed by some yet untried pumpkin main course (the potato-salad is just not enough for a main course ) and pumpkin cake for dessert … Mm – I remember a autumn-salad with some baked pumpkin (lamb’s lettuce would be my salad of choice – and that slightly bitter red thingie, blue cheese, pear and walnuts inside, too) … I will need a big pumpkin 😉

Well, she has just been to Australia, so I should be very cautious with invitations … she might indeed come – something you normally only expect Germans to do, when you say: Whenever you are my corner, come round …
Americans don’t mean that literally, Germans on the other hand take those invitations literally. That has been the reason for many embarrassing situations.

Found a main course – a savoury pumpkin tarte … with spring onions, one red chili, a little bit of cooked ham, crème fraîche and cheese … and I can imagine the autumn-salad with pumpkin on the side of that … *licks own lips*
