Barks!  Now that I have your attention my friends, I must share something fabulous with you.  Something that is so exciting – something that I have been keeping a secret for two entire weeks.  And you know for a terrier to keep something a secret – that just blows your little doggy mind!  Okay – Okay – let me *try* to calm down for a minute and give you some back up information.  Some of you may remember reading about DOGtv on my weekly Paw Time with Houdini series.  If you missed it, you can check out my postings here and here.

I absolutely ❤ DOGtv.  I wrote them an email straight from my puppy heart.  And they extended all of my friends here two months of on-line subscription free when they sign up for one month at DOGtv using the code PIGLOVE at checkout.  It’s really a cool channel just made for us pooches.  I watch it every night before I go to bed.  It’s kind of like my nightly routine here at the Hotel Thompson.

Well friends, I want you to check out something that came out today on-line with the newspaper USA Today.  You will absolutely not believe who made it in the paper – coughs, barks, grunts and then smiles with happiness.  I’ve even copied the article below for your convenience.  Guess who is doing the happy dance at the Hotel Thompson?

Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY.  This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better.  Some of them, you may already know.  We hope that you enjoy this series!

Name:  Lucy Sandy (Nicknames: Lucy Goosey and Lucy Lou – so far )

Age:  1 year

Location:  Chattanooga (well, really Soddy Daisy, but no one knows where that is, including me) Chattanooga

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? I was being taken somewhere called “the pound” when Amy saw me and said she would take me home with her. I thought maybe I was on vacation. I got good food and a soft couch and a nice dog bed. Then a man walked in and I cowered because I thought maybe he would hit me. But he knelt down and spoke very softly to me and I fell in love with him right then and there. His name is Jeff. I didn’t realize these were my new parents for a few days, so I was on my very best behavior.

What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home?  Amy left me with another lady who took me to the vet’s and left me there. I went to sleep and when I woke up I had a big owie on my belly. I didn’t understand, and I thought she had left me there for good. The next day Amy came and took me back home. I think that’s when I realized that really was my home.

What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home?   I had gotten comfortable in what I now knew was my home, and started “testing my boundaries,” according to Amy. I tried different places to pee and poop in the house and Amy just quietly cleaned it up. Then, one day, Amy called me over to an extra big pile of stinky stuff and pointed at it and told me, “No!” That really scared me. I mean, why didn’t she just tell me that to begin with? Once she explained it was not acceptable to potty in the house at all I stopped doing it.  

 Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why?  Amy feeds me and plays with me and lets me out except in the morning when Jeff lets me out. So I think it is her.

What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you?  Amy and Jeff call me an AmStaff. They don’t say the words Pit Bull because a lot of people are instantly scared. So, I guess it would be that I might bite them?? I really don’t understand that ’cause I like everybody and just want them to like me, too.
