Travels in the South

19 Apr

Oh friends!  What a week it has been.  With mom recuperating from her car accident, we have all been trying to be nice to her.  After one doctors appointment last week, mom was craving some comfort food.  Nothing screams southern comfort more than this picture, right?  For those that don’t recognize that awesome glory, let me break it down for you.

Those two delightfully brown looking pieces on that plate, that would be boneless fried chicken.  You see chicken of any kind is like one of mom’s fall to foods when she is feeling really icky.  And personally I think these past couples of weeks qualified for just that.

Mom ordered the chicken with green beans, a side salad and white gravy on the side.  What was the gravy for?  Of course to dip that wonderful chicken into before eating it.  You’ve never done that before?  You are so hidden from southern comforts.  You must try it.

So you see mom didn’t do too bad but she sure felt better afterwards. ❤

Amen brother. Even though mom went to the doctor, after eating this wonderful meal she came home in such a better mood – in pain but happy. XOXO – Bacon

My Mom is frying chicken for dinner for her and Dad tonight and I just bet a little piece of it can be “SCORED” by yours truly! Comfort food any time is good stuff….hope it helps your Mom’s achy breakies after that accident.

    Love, Teddy

aaww thanks cousin. It’s been kind of hectic around these parts lately. I feel like I’m so behind in my blogs and visiting my friends – including cousins ❤ Mom's favorite food in the entire world is fried chicken – she can never get enough. Mom is getting back to her old self more and more these days. She started back walking Monday and the swelling on her sternum seems to be going down more and more – hallelujah for that! XOXO – Bacon

Oh yes, mmmm. My comfort food is spaghetti and Jeff’s is either spaghetti or pancakes. 🙂 Hope your Mom recovers quickly from that whiplash, Bacon.

There is nothing better than comfort food when you are down, whatever that may be for you. I love fried chicken but carbs are my go to for comfort.

At the Hotel Thompson in the middle of the south, we gotta have fried chicken – it’s like blood running through your veins. You can’t function without fried chicken – snorts with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon

I know! Mom said she thought about you when she had this at the restaurant. Besides having in common being evil (snorts with piggy laughter), both of you enjoy the chicken. XOXO – Bacon

This piggy would love to snort with you :)
