Travels in the South

29 Mar

If you had to describe comfort in a picture, this would be mom’s.  It doesn’t look pretty but mom says it is totally awesome.  What is it you ask?  This creation is called Chocolate Cream Pie and it’s found out a place called Waffle House.  They don’t have them all of the time.  Usually they have them in the freezer and they forget to put them out – snorts with piggy laughter.  But mom loves this pie.  It’s her comfort pie.

She hasn’t had one lately.  This picture was actually taken several weeks ago.  But every once in a while, mom still looks at this picture and dreams about how good it tastes.

Do you have ‘comfort’ food like mom?  If so, what kind?  Please share my sweet friends. ❤

YES!! I can’t have it often – well for obvious reasons. One is the new way of eating and two is because the restaurant hardly ever puts them out of the freezer – LOL. I guess in that direction, they are “helping” me out, right?

My comfort meal is Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and lots of gravy! Yum…..Chocolate pie would be good also….. OK, Put it all in a doggy bag and I’ll just eat it all at home! 😉 T.

That looks good. We don’t have any Waffle House’s here. I like to get a chocolate pie from our local eating place.

Chocolate pie is such a fantastic heavenly dessert. This one doesn’t look like much but it is fantastic on the lips – not so much for the hips though – LOL

Any pumpkin is comforting to me. I’m a pie person all the way.

My fav varies from season to season although I love tiramisu all the time. I went to a restaurant last night intending to get it to share. They took it off the “spring” menu to add a strawberry dessert. Why can’t they feature both? Boogers!

Exactly! Mom’s other favorite – don’t tell her I said it – is creme brulee. She LOVES that stuff but hasn’t had any in such a long time. XOXo – Bacon

This reminds me of the chocolate cream pie at Bill’s Barbecue in Richmond. Piled high on a paper plate. The crust was so flaky. YUM. They made great limeade too.

Licking lips. It sounds like heaven on a plate to me. I could go for one right about now 🙂 – June
