Spotlight Thursday – Meet Marshal Davout

Spotlight Thursday

Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY.  This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better.  Some of them, you may already know.  We hope that you enjoy this series!

Name:  Marshal Davout

Age:  3 and a half years

Location:  Southern California USA

Web/Blog Page:  http://threecatyard.wordpress.com/

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents?  Too scared to think. I don’t handle car trips or new things well.  Still don’t.

What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home?  After a little I got braver, and Rhea made friends with me in our room while we took some medicine. But in a while, we got out to explore the whole house and met the two Old Guy cats (Julius and Gus).  I wasn’t scared of them and they didn’t get mad at me at all when I went downstairs to explore – before Rhea got up the courage to come too.

What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home?   When Uncle Julius was a tiny kitten, he fell through the railing upstairs above the living room and fell. He was OK. Dad put up a cardboard cover along the railing to keep us from doing it…and I climbed it and fell down too.  I wasn’t hurt either.

Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why?  I’m not good at making people do things. I sometimes ask to go out back but it has been to rainy recently.

What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you?  That Rhea is the boss of me.  I let her take the lead mostly, but when she does bad stuff I’m still the BIG brother.

Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!

Oh wow that was an adventure… I’m glad Uncle Julius and you were ok after that non-bungee-jump… I’ve tried that too… butt my butt is too big for the railing… oh I mean the railing is too small…

For the new kittens I have plastic blocking the railing above the door and some netting on the ones on the stair steps and nobody has taken a tumble so far.

TINK here, while Mom gets into her pajamas (finally!) I don’t think they have railings here in Cincinnati – I’ve never seen one. But man-o-man you guys sure are beautiful cats. And you must get brushed every hour. MY fur never looks like that!

Their fur is medium long and is actually fairly mat resistant. I sometimes have to cut a little one out but the coat maintenance isn’t too bad. Which is a good thing since Marshal D is hard to get hold of much of the time. He skitters away unless he is up on something high up.

TinkerToy is a Shih Tzu, so he mats if you look at him cross-eyed. He is extremely well behaved, but he is ALL dog, even though he looks like a foofoo lap-puppy who belongs on a pillow. If I miss a day (especially several), we’re both in b-i-g trouble.

Nice to meet you, Marshal. I am afraid a lot, too. I think jumping over the cardboard through the upstairs railing was very brave.

    Love and licks,
