Today, February 2nd is Groundhog Day. According to folklore, there are two options that could happen today:
If it’s cloudy when the groundhog emerges and he doesn’t see his shadow, then spring will be right around the corner; but
If it’s sunny when the groundhog emerges, he does *see* his shadow and retreats back into his burrow, then winter will continue for six more weeks.
The largest groundhog day celebration takes place every year in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
Personally, I hope that spring is right around the corner. I could go for some warmer weather here at the Hotel Thompson. And I know that oinker Bacon would enjoy it.
Good luck on whatever you want. I’ll be back soon!

The funny part about this is that Spring will arrive in 47 days regardless of what the groundhog says. #countingdownthedays

Amen to that! I can’t wait for Spring. This winter has been the pits. And our Groundhog here in Atlanta General Beauregard Lee saw his shadow. Six more weeks of winter – eeww. Bad groundhog – snorts with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon

YAY! I’ve missed the Dead Files. I really liked that show. I’ve seen several of the Ghosts in the Hood. Shaking my piggy head. WOW is the nicest thing I can say about that one. Snorts and rolls with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon

Ghosts in the Hood, it’s a different show indeed. Stopped watching it after the third episode. But, I rate it better than Paranormal Lockdown. PL just moves so slowly. At least Ghosts in the Hood tells their stories at a better pace.

Snorts – I so agree with you!! I can’t watch PL. It moves too slow for me and it’s just not that entertaining. They need to come up with some more good ones for sure – all year round not just at Halloween. XOXO – Bacon

Heavy fog here today. Even Molly Malamute said “Let’s not walk very far this morning – I don’t want anything to scare the groundhog. Enough of dismal, and dreary already!”

On Ground Hog Day (or Imbolc for Celtic folks) we were halfway between winter solstice and spring equinox. The days are getting longer!
