Travels in the South

18 Jan

Hello friends – welcome back to mom/dad’s Travels in the South.  Today is a good one…. snorts – I say that every week don’t I?  Rolls with piggy laughter.  Well as you know mom/dad have been changing their way of eating.  It’s definitely a work in progress for sure.  Well, a couple of weeks ago mom took dad out for his birthday.  Dad wanted to go to a local steakhouse for dinner.

Dad went for a steak of course ❤   He ordered a prime rib and mom said since it was his birthday he could have french fries.  Nice of her huh?  Snorts!  Mom went with the strawberry fields salad.  Doesn’t that look awesome?  It has everything in it from nuts to grapes to strawberries to oranges.  Yummy huh?

It was definitely dad’s picking that night for dinner. Mom had a little of that huge steak. She said it was so tender and wonderful. XOXO – Bacon

Snorts with piggy laughter. I know what you mean. Mom said she picked her battles that night since it was dad’s birthday. She did make him take a couple of bites of her salad – that counts, right? XOXO – Bacon

That salad is one of my favorites – I love those fruity combinations in a salad…….as for the steak all I can say is “burp” !! HAHAHA David and I have found that as we’ve gotten older (VERY OLDER) we have more of an issue with digesting a big beefy entrée yet we STILL can’t resist once in a while in spite of that! Birthdays are one of those occasions where you just damn the torpedoes and move full speed ahead.

Exactly! We have both been so careful of what we are picking to eat these days. Since it was the hub units birthday, I let him have his way on his meal. My salad was super wonderful – I can’t get enough of it!

Love that salad but I’d have to have a (large) bite of the steak and some fries to wash it down.

Wow, that was quite the big steak! It’d take me weeks to eat your hubs meal (that is if I ate meat which I don’t). Your salad looks heavenly. 😉
