Journey with Friends

19 Dec

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

Hello friends!  How was your week?  I can admit it.  Mine had more downs than ups but the weekend was great.  Who could turn down extra snuggle time with the boys here at the Hotel Thompson, right?  And what was the down last week?  Let me tell you the conversation:

Me:  “Hey, honey.  We have a slight problem.

Hub Unit: “What’s wrong?”

Me:  “Well, I’m at work and I parked my car.  I went inside and put my things down and that’s when it happened.”

Hub Unit: “What happened?”

Me: “Well… stutters.”

Hub Unit: “Say again?”

Me: “Well, I locked my car up.”

Hub Unit: “Okay and…”

Me: “Wwweelll, my purse is in my car…. along with my keys.”

Hub Unit: “Oh.  Well calm down.  Call Triple A and eat your breakfast while you wait.  Everything is okay.”

Me: “Ummm…well… I’ve called Triple A – but I umm… my breakfast and drink are in the car.”

Hub Unit lowers head and tries not to laugh because this is so his wife… “It’s okay honey.  Things will be okay.”

So that was me last week.  But at last the car was unlocked, the breakfast warmed up and the day went on as usual.  Valleys and mountains are in our lives.  This just happened to be a bump in a valley.  I shook it off by the end of the day.  It just shows us that we are all human and make errors in our ways.  This week is off to a great start.  I have to keep reminding myself.  Get through to Friday and then I have TEN glorious days off from work – time to be with the babies here… time to get myself together for the new year.. time to rest and relax.

So my friends – how was your week?!  ❤

Aargh. Mom has done this a thousand times – almost. The only thing that saved her is that her car won’t allow it!! If she TRIES to lock the keys inside, the locks pop right back open and the sensors beep at her. Then she says, “GAH! What do you want from me? Oh…. the keys are inside.” Derp. Glad it all turned out OK.

Mines does that too. But for some reason – and I’m not sure why rolls eyes – when you take the keys out of the ignition and put them in your purse and THEN get out locking your door, it doesn’t beep. Isn’t that weird? I mean who would have thought, right? And of course, I might have a spare at home somewhere (I still haven’t looked) but the hub unit can’t drive without vision so there I was on the curb crying/laughing hysterically. This being the day that all of the guys here at work were on assignment. Now I can laugh about it. That day though – I was a basket case. Even when the guy came to fix things, he had to call me back to my car to remind me to lock my doors for security. Shaking my head. I really need a vacation, you think? HAHAHA

Oh man, I hate it when that happens. On the bright side, if that’s the worst thing to happen to you over the week, I’d say it was pretty much a success. 😉

It was thankfully. Of course, on that particular day, it tore me apart like you wouldn’t believe. But it is behind me now thank goodness!

I’ve locked myself out of the car and the house before. Never a great start to the day. My week was very busy and productive. After tomorrow, I might have a breather. Enjoy your holiday!

We should all take a breather this year. 2017 will be here soon enough for all us to take charge of everything.

Very true. Gord told me the carriers are NOT equipped to carry so many parcels. After all, they are meant to be ‘letter carriers’. So it is taking him twice as long to get areas covered. And all these companies that are saying use Canada Post….they are oblivious to the overload….
Soon our Postal people can put their feet up!!! ;0

OMCowKittyness, that’s awful…Granny has once locked herself out of the house, when she was taking her doggie out to do her business, she had to get her spare key at her sisters house for almost one hour drive. Ever since, about 40 years ago, she has always a spare key in her pocket, even if Grandpaw is with her and has a key. I think you deserve that upcoming rest 🙂 We had a kind of same week, up and down, like a rollercoaster. Eye infection and now cramps in calf. Something tells me I have to slow down too… Pawkisses for an Easy Week 🙂 ❤

Oh no! We are looking for a spare key this weekend to ‘put’ somewhere safe if this ever happens again. You just never know, right? And yes – you need rest too. We are going to take it and get ready for 2017.

My human mommy’s grandmother once locked her keys in the trunk of the car. Naturally, it was on a holiday so the locksmith was about five times the normal cost. At the time, she worked for a doctor who gave her a gold chain with a spare key to wear around her neck. He said the chain was probably cheaper than the locksmith 😉

LOL – This is probably so true. But I bet she never lost her chain!

Keys ALWAYS lock themselves away at THE worst possible times. I might have told you this but my good friend is a locksmith and he has been doing 8 to 10 hour shifts for 20 years just helping people back into their cars and homes! Any way hooray for a 10 day holiday. You know why Santa is so jovial and ho ho hoing.? It is because he only has to work one day a year.! Ho Ho ho.❤

Amen about that! I’m so looking forward to a long break. I really need it about this time of the year.
