Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends. This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better. Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.
Together we can do this!
Hello friends – how was your week? We held our own here at the Hotel Thompson. From working so hard in the past weeks, we took this weekend to chill. We turned off the phones, the computers and the iPad and chilled. Mostly we watched television and cooked in the kitchen. I have to say, I made some amazing meals this weekend. I feel pretty good today – which is totally awesome for a change. It’s finally started to get cooler here – this morning it was 46 degrees when I left for work. It’s almost finally time to switch from flip-flops to the Ugg boots – YAY!
I’m happy to report that today is Monday and today I feel great. My pain levels is probably around a 2 from my rheumatoid arthritis – that is excellent for a change! Hopefully it is finally taking a turn for the better – it seems ages since I felt this good. This week calls for more work and lots of errands to run next weekend.
So my friends, how was your week?

This week was my birthday, so I indulged in chocolate and made myself a pumpkin cheese pie. Not quite cheesecake, not quite pie. Lighter than both but just as good. In spite of my mysteriously aching feet, I’m walking daily and mentally preparing to start yoga again. The easy kind. No headstand stuff.

That not so pie/cheesecake sounds amazing. I love pumpkin so very much. And I concur with you on yoga, no headstanding stuff – just relaxing and easy on the joints for me. June

I am so happy you had such a good week/weekend! And a 2 on the Pain scale is FAB!
I did not know you have RA; I have OA with Fibro & Skeletal Hyperostosis (bone spurs EVERYWHERE). When they all gang up on me; they act like MS>>>no fun at all…..
As for my struggle with junk food; I only ate Gluten-free Snap Pea snacks…no chocolate; chips or other naughty stuff…..
I am amazed! hehehe…..
Hoping the low pain level continues!
(((hugs))) & Love Sherri-Ellen ❤

Oh my friend – you did wonderful then!! I did have a day where I had some chocolate. A girl can’t live without that can she? I’ve had RA for almost 20 years now. It’s been getting worse in the past year. I’m learning to live with it so a day with pain at 2 is awesome!! You hang in there – we are two of a kind XOXO – Bacon’s MOM

Chocolate is a MUST HAVE isn’t it??? hehehe….
I am sorry you’ve had RA so long….my Nanna had RA & she never ceased to amaze me how much she could do. Never really complained. I realized in my mid-20’s just how much pain she was in all those years.
I’ve had Fibro & OA since I was 25 & the Hyperostosis since I was 42…..the past 2 years have been brutal. I try not to share about it on the blog. I made an exception when I found out I was not getting proper Injections tho’. tomorrow I see Family Doc to see what can be done…..wish me Luck!!
And yes we are 2 of a kind…

I do wish you all the luck my friend. This is something that we teach ourselves to live with. It’s not a matter of IF you are going to be in pain today. The question is how much pain. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. XOXO – Bacon’s MOM

Agreed….it is always how severe is my pain? How much do I do w/out putting myself into a flare-up…I will pray for you also my friend. Some days it even hurts to type. So I rub Aspercreme on my hands & soldier on!! 😉

YAY for a good week…. here I deal still with the cold gremlin… but it has a nice side effect… everything I eat has the same taste… so I can eat dry rice wafers and can pretend they taste like Ben&Jerry’s :o))))

Oh no my friend. I thought you might be feeling under the weather again. That nasty gremlin needs to get on down the road STAT. Hope you feel better really soon! XOXO – Bacon’s MOM

I’m so glad you’re feeling well! I’m in a holding pattern, too, fighting the hibernation temptation.

YES! The hibernation bear is really bad today trying to drag me in. I don’t feel fully awake yet by any means. XOXO – Bacon’s MOM
