Of Mice And Rocks

Oh snorts with piggy laughter! That Bashful of mine is always getting into some sort of trouble with kitties. XOXO – Bacon

Evil Squirrel's Nest

BASHFUL: Oooooh!  You look pretty!  Who are you?

RICE: I’m a rice… short for rainbow mouse.  Aunt Sharon sent me here all the way from Australia last year.

BASHFUL: Hey, I remember her!  Dude, were you sent to The Nest as punishment too?

RICE: Of course not, I…

RICE #2: Ahem!  I beg to differ!

BASHFUL: Wow!  Another rice!  Slightly used…

RICE 2: I’m his twin brother… and as you can see, I’m living proof of what can happen to you if you stay around this awful place for too long!

RICE 1: Oh, quit being so overly dramatic, bro.

RICE 2: That’s easy for you to say since you live the life of Riley up on the high shelf where the two abominable feline beasts can’t reach you!  I, on the other hand, have been thrown to the wolves, so to speak.  I’ve been abused and tortured and mutilated…

National Pet Memorial Day

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

Keeping my paws on the nuts of the world!

 .

Today, September 11th, is National Pet Memorial Day.  National Pet Memorial Day is always the second  Sunday in September.  I think it’s a fabulous day.  This day is an opportunity to remember the pets that have passed away but that are *never* forgotten.  These pets have touched our hearts, brightened our lives, comforted us and now are over the Rainbow Bridge.  They are still in our hearts and always will be.  Today, let us remember them and fall in love with them all over again.

Those that have passed the Rainbow Bridge will *always* hold a special place in your heart.  This year we lost our sweet Mouse Girl.  Although she is no longer physically with us, she is still here watching over us.  We feel her here and daily we think about her and how she touched all of our lives.

Please share your pictures and favorite stories today my friends of your passed anipals.

Patriot Day – In Memory

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years but we will never forget.

No one will ever be the same after this date.

Life changed.  Families changed.  Times changed.

Let us not just think of the United States on this date.  Of the 2,977 victims that lost their lives on this sad day, 373 of them were foreign nationals that worked at the World Trade Center in different offices.

This date touched the world.  The day might have darkened 09/11 but not destroyed us.  We as in the world came out stronger.  We as in the world came out more united.  We as in the world came out.

In memory of all of the victims that lost their lives on this sad day, you will never be forgotten.  You live on in our lives and always will.

Stay strong my friends.  Stay united!
