Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends. This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better. Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.
Together we can do this!
Hello friends. How did you do last week? It still remains so hot here. It’s almost unbearable. All you want to do is stay inside anywhere near a fan or the air conditioner. We are all so ready for a bit of cooler weather here in the south. It seemed like last year, we went straight from winter to HOT summer with no in between of Spring. I’m hoping that we have some fall this year. That’s my favorite time of the year – you? I love watching the leaves change and everything starting to go into hibernation.
This week, we are stepping things up here at the Hotel Thompson. We have been straying here/there and sometimes more there then it should be. With that in mind, we are going to do better. It’s also suppose to rain some this week. I’m hoping that it brings some cooler weather with that rain. So much easier to breathe without the heat. I did walk 4.73 miles – not my best but I’m not hating that with this weather.
So, how did you do my friends and what are your plans for this week?
Miles Walked Since 06/13/2016: 63.57 miles

Fingers and paws crossed the rain arrives (right after a quick visit through the Mile High City). Egad, I’m so over this heat! Just 45 days to the official first day of autumn. Woot!! 🙂

I can’t wait! They said on the news this morning that we have had 46 days of consecutive heat in the upper 90’s. It’s too much! I’m so ready for cool weather for sure. June

Put me in that same category, June! Every time I see a cloud, I get hopeful but more often end up disappointed. 😦 May have to break out the rain dance beads!

That is a very impressive number! After almost a week of laxness, we are back on track with our walks. The cooler weather and rain has helped our walking…but not our yard work…Mama sez we are the poor white trash of our ‘ hood….but she can’t really do any work because of rain. I think she is going to call for re-enforcements…..

LOL! You should see my hedges in the front yard. That need attention STAT and it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon. Poor yard. I’m glad your walking has increased. I’m tweaking a few different things this week to see how we do on the scale. I’ll let you know next week how it goes. Have a fantastic week! June

Life is hard to balance everything. My motto is “keep moving!” Even if only at home. Our coach Shane says “do a few seconds running on the spot’ so we do it together. Every step counts. ❤

Amen to that. Shane is amazing! He is so inspirational. Can you bottle him and send him to me to be my life coach for a while? June

LOL! Just keep saying “every step matters” ps. He just got an after school, actual job. He is assistant coach at Twisters Gymnasium. He will be teaching the “Tiny Terrors” He will be the gentlest, kindest, most encouraging coach there.

! will do that. ps. We talk about visiting Georgia and USA all the time. I am taking him “way outback Australia” to celebrate the commencement of senior high school next year. Who knows?, If we save real hard perhaps we can make it to celebrate the completion of High School ?
We would stay at a Motel or Hotel or what ever people stay in for holidays there in America. At the moment it is just a fantasy but a fun one. ❤

Squeals with piggy excitement. If you decide to venture this way, let my mom know. She can hook you up with places to stay and of course would love to show you the sights everywhere. XOXO – Bacon

Too. Bloody. Hot. Here.
Sorry June…I can’t believe how hot it has been here & no rain for days & days. The grass is burnt to a crisp. Poor garden is barely holding on. I’ve had Asthma attacks this Summer….so I KNOW it is extreme here!
Want. Autumn. Yesterday.

YES – The asthma has so been driving me crazy here. I’ve had to do breathing treatments almost every other night. The heat is so unbearable. You can’t turn the air too low in the house for fear of getting a $350 electric bill (like we got last month – THUD). I am so ready for fall/winter. And yes I will be living it up without complaints! You try to stay cool and be careful with your asthma – June

UGH! Worst Summer in years for Asthma!!!
I have fans only. Have to be careful to not blow directly on me overnite or else that makes me feel sick. It is such a balancing act isn’t it? Bring on Autumn & rain! I am SO-O ready!
WOW that is some electric bill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKESS!!!!
Soon it will be September….

Tell me about it. I think mom almost had a stroke when she saw that bill. Shakes piggy head. In the winter months, it’s barely $50 – but during the summer my humans definitely pay for it, it seems. We really *need* cool weather STAT. XOXO – Bacon

I lost a pound last week! I’ve not been very motivated with this weather, either. I am getting some housework done, but that’s about it.
