This post goes out to my brother Hemingway – Hemi for short. He is a lot of things here at the Hotel Thompson.
He is my brother.
He is my friend.
He is the master cat.
He is mom/dads oldest.
I talk about him a lot here on my blog. Mostly about him using his ginormous paw to slap me on the rump – snorts. But really, today is his birthday. Today he turns the big 12 years old. Happy birthday Hemi.
And just remember Hemi, with your age – snorts –
you might want to cut back on spanking this oinker.

PLOL (Pig Laughing out Loud!)
Oh friends, did you know that mommy/daddy adopted Hemi and his brother Tybee when they were three weeks old? They barely had their eyes open and had just started walking – I guess you could say that was walking. Their little tails were like a piece of yarn – 🙂 They had gotten picked up by Animal Control and taken to the shelter. Mom and dad saved them both and brought them home. They are such softies when it comes to us four legged animals, you know 🙂

8 is no age for a cat, did you know that, Bacon? Hemi has just reached the peak – and will now plateau for a while! My tom is 11, and just this morning he pursued the female cat with a lot of patience (and hassle, she had to fight him off).
3 weeks is WAY too young for a kitten to be separated from their mother (I know that was not your humans or the shelter doing that, it were the circumstances).What an unhappy start your “brother” had (beware, you are an omnivore, like myself and your humans, but he is an obligatory carnivore, a raptor, a hunter – if he ever stops slapping you, you should take him to the vet!) And how wonderful that Hotel Thompson opened then! He has really outgrown his sad start!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEMI! He and I are extra-toed cousins…..ginger boys with a lot of love to give and at only eight years old he’s got a whole lot of happy time ahead of him. So glad your Mom and Dad brought him and his brother Tybee home from the shelter and gave them a super happy home. I think you should let that guy keep giving you a push on the bum for many years to come Bacon! Keeps you alert!!!

No problems fellow kitty. My brother Tybee passed away several years ago from feline leukemia. It was a very sad day in all of our lives here at the Hotel Thompson. He was really a cool dude for sure – Hemingway
