You see, this past weekend mommy was grounded at the house. First off, she has been tired and doing too much. She keeps saying that she’s playing the ‘catch up’ game for a couple of weeks now. Well, Houdini took that to heart. How so? Well he hid her Jeep keys Friday night. It was like he was telling her something, right?
Well he was telling her something alright. Guess what Saturday was and mom never said a word? It was Houdini’s two year birthday. Can you believe she ‘forgot’? She admitted to the little guy that she forgot, that she would make it up and wouldn’t let it happen again. Now, Houdini took it pretty well but trust me. That little pooch is going to make mommy pay the price.
This is the dude’s picture from last year on his first birthday where mom threw him a surprise doggy party – full with doggy ice cream, friends and presents. So you see, you know he was expecting the same.

Poor Hou Hou! Mommy forgot your BIG DAY? WOW…….I have to admit, in all my 17 years my Mom has never forgotten one of those BIG days……but I do think that your Mom can redeem herself – maybe take you to the drive thru at McD’s or Burger King and get you a burger ALLLLL your own? Purrhaps take you to a park and have a private picnic with just you and your Mom and Dad………….she’ll think of something I’m sure. Meanwhile, HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Thanks cousin. I think she has scheduled me a spa day this Saturday – runs around chasing my tail in excitement. I love spa day! It’s all about me and my comforts. So in a way, I guess she is making it up to me. Now if I can get my own happy meal on the way home – that’s what I’m talking about! Barks to you. Houdini

Sometimes us mommies have waaaay too much going on in our brains and some impawtant stuff gets forgotten. I’m sure she’ll make it up to the little scamp so don’t worry about it. Besides, as you get older, it can be a good thing to furget those pesky birthdays. Happy (belated) Barkday, Houdini. 🎂

Sometimes we just have to force our humans to slow down and take life easy like we do, said the Golden Retriever who sleeps about 21-1/2 hours a day. 🙂 My mommy hasn’t ever forgotten my birthday, but she did spend about six months thinking I was a year older than I am. Geez, I think I’d rather have her forget my birthday than think I’m older. Happy Belated Birthday to Houdini. I have a feeling that Mom will more than make it up to the little guy.

Bacon, this is Dante’s Grandma. Your mommy was probably just doing too much and lost track of time, not her love for Houdini. Let her know that you understand and love her no matter what. Crikey …….. my Mum’s NEVER forgotten my birthday. What’s with all those blokes saying to cut your Mom some slack?? If I were Houdini there would be no slack cut I can assure you. Well, I did hide her Jeep keys this past weekend. It took her and dad the entire weekend to find them too. It was really quite funny watching them look in all of my secret hiding spots. So, I guess I can forgive her for doing that. AND she is taking me for spa day – which I completely LOVE – and a Happy Meal Saturday with extra happy. Now, I’m trying to rope in a trip to our local pet store for a new toy and I will be set to go! XOXO – Bacon
