Journey with Friends

06 Jun

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

The visitors are gone and safely tucked back at home now.  The vacation is over and the Journey begins.  June 1st I started hitting it hard and wearing my Fitbit full time.  So any results?  Well, I think the first week is always the adjustment week.  What weight I gained on vacation is now safely off – woo-hoo!  And I averaged the total combined steps I did into miles which equally 4.85 miles.  Okay – that’s a start.  I’ve had a lot of deadlines to meet at the end of last week and the beginning of this week.  That’s kept me desk bound but with the Fitbit I’ve been reminded to get up and move.  And this week when I get home from work every day, I’m going for a walk.  So next week I’m hoping to report better results.

So – how was your week my friends?

Best of luck my friend ((HUGS)). It is definitely a journey to be taken one step at a time. Little steps are what I’m taking but gosh it’s hard!

Moving and walking is THE answer. I haven’t walked all week (I know I had an excuse but I forgot it) starting tomorow, grabbing the dog stroller, grabbing 2 very enthusiastic dogs and away we go!

You can do this! It’s so hard to make the time to put ourselves first and walk. But I’m finding it takes away the stress and tension from the day. That in itself is making me feel better. Keep up the great work!

hugs! I think a lot of us are starting afresh again. It’s so hard to stay on a good path. I’m trying to walk more this week. That’s a huge challenge. Good luck to you mom.

I watched my calories and restricted my intake to 1300 calories per day. The first week I lost 3 pounds and was delirious. I figured 3 pounds each week and I’d be slim in no time. Well, that was it. I lost that 3 pounds so after a month I stopped watching calories. It’s been 10 days and I weigh the same as when I started eating normally. *sigh* I figure next week I’ll try counting the calories again and restricting my intake. I’m not as pumped as I was the first time though.

Oh my friend ((HUGS)). It seems like sometimes this does happen to us in cycles. But guess what – we start all over again and try harder this time. We can do this together!

Crikey … Looks like I’ll have to get Mum started. From tomorrow on I’ll be using the whip on her. She’s not been walking me as far as she used to. Just throwing a ball for me. I get exercised but she doesn’t. All that changes tomorrow and what’s more she’s not getting any more treats.

Amen my buddy! You can do this. I will persuade my mom to walk me more too. She forgets to move sometimes when she is doing her computer work. Me and you – we will get our mothers up and moving. We will be an awesome team! Let me know how it goes next Monday. XOXO – Bacon

I’m cutting out more sugar and grains. I’d like to get back to my walking regime but I’ve injured my ankle, which is timely. Go you!

I had a knot in my quad last week. It’s better, so back on track this week, though I didn’t do very well today, and have a writing day tomorrow, and two appointments. I think I can, I think I can…
