Journey with Friends

01 Feb

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

You know what?  Nothing this week.  Nothing at all.  The scale didn’t go up and it didn’t go down.  It was a solo kind of week which is great really.  Why?  Cause I kind of went outside the box a couple of days and ate some things I probably shouldn’t.  So it was kind of like last week didn’t exist at all… at least for the scales.  How do I feel about that?  Grin – I guess fine.  As long as the scale doesn’t go UP – I think that’s a happy week.  What about you my friends.  How did you do this past week?

a sleeping scale is a good scale…. and next week it goes down, I’m sure :o) sadly mine started like a rocket, I hope for a miracle till wednesday when I have to see the vet. my mom got a sleeping scale too, but probably it was just tired because of the lightning start it did for me…. my dad lost 3 lbs without doing nothing eggs-cept to eat a truckload of ice cream… that’s not fair :o(

Oh my!! That is totally not fair on your dad’s point. Why do men do this and lose? My Jim does the same. I look at something and gain five pounds. Shaking my head. I wish you luck Easy on your doctor day. June

How you feel is far more important than a number on a scale. So you had some comfort food, no sweat. There will be days you just can’t live on celery and cigarettes like a supermodel.

This is so true. Thank you. This week is better. There are some days that I can’t get enough to eat while other days just looking at food cause me to feel sick. Weird huh? June

I gained weight this week. *hides head under blankie* I go carried away when mom gave Kali her baby beef with broth. No, its not made from a baby, its baby food. Kali has been losing weight so mom decided to give her some beef and broth and she likes it. Mom slips Kali arthritis meds in and Kali doesn’t notice. I feel real good though and I’m getting exercise.

But you are feeling good my sweetheart. Sometimes we have to toss up in the air what is more important – feeling better or a little weight loss. I would go for feeling better in a heartbeat. XOXO – Bacon

You got a point Bacon but my kitty pouch is starting to swing low…MOL I think when spring comes and I’m out and about, the weight will go….at least some of it.

I am trying to grow healthy habits like drinking more water. Starting first thing in the morning making it the first beverage. How come the Doctor never shakes his head and says ” I am sorry gentlestitches but you have to try and drink more champagne? 😀

LOL! I concur – why doesn’t the doctor say that? I am drinking tons of water – that also helps me with my plasma donations. The sodas are my downfall. Shaking my head. I am trying to give them up but it’s almost like I’m addicted. XOXO – Bacon’s MOM

Last week I got weighed when I went in for my acupuncture. I held steady, right where I should be. I think this week I lost some weight, with the removal of 5 teeth and a paw tumor! Not to mention being deprived of all food for almost 24 hours!!

You went through such an ordeal my sweet little friend! I bet you are down this week with all of that activity being done to you. Now you just concentrate on feeling better okay! XOXO – Bacon’s MOM
