Journey with Friends

25 Jan

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

How did you do my friends?  I was down 1 pound this week – I’ll take it.  Anything going “down” is something I love.  I’ve thought about it so hard lately – you know this new way of eating better.  It didn’t happen overnight gaining the weigh and it’s not going to happen overnight losing the weight.  Any small difference adds up to a big difference – makes sense?  I’ve eaten some things this week that probably wasn’t the wisest decisions therefore the 1 pound down.  But, you have to live in the moment and not have “I should have” moments down the road.  I’m working on that too and trying to make a compromise.

I’m also working on a transformation of sorts with myself as well.  Sometimes we get *stuck* with the way we look – hair, make-up, glasses, etc.  Every so often it’s good to reinvent your look to make things more exciting and new.  I’m going through one of those butterfly moments this week.  Hopefully next week, I will post pictures to share with you to see what you think.

Hope YOU had a wonderful week and made wonderful choices my friends.  Hugs

it’s one pound what’s over the hill now :o) I think we sometimes need some sweet or rich sins to carry on with our plans. I still stick with my new years resolutions, we decided among other things, that we will stop to keep new stuff “for special events”, this events never come and if, then it fits no longer or it is dated… and to throw something away what still has the price tags is awful :o(

Exactly! I’m with you. It’s sad to say that I have clothes in my closet with price tags still on them. That’s horrible isn’t it? I must purge soon and spring clean. Thanks my friends.

yep! I so agree… do you think it’s odd to clean the house while wearing an evening dress? naaah, better than to wear it never, right?

Exactly – and don’t forget the matching heels. One has to look the part while purging the old. Snorts!

One pound sounds like so little, but check the fridge and look at a pound of butter! It’s significant! Yay, you!

This is so very true and I agree. In those terms, it is a LOT. And every little pounds adds up to multiple pounds. ❤ June

Bravo on the pound! They add up you know and DOWN a pound means not UP a pound……I’m with you on reinventing ourselves from time to time too – it’s invigorating to change hair color or style…..makeup colors…..even wearing a color you’ve avoided wearing with a jazzy scarf or sweater of a different color. People NOTICE! Here’s to another successful week for you!

    Hugs, Pam

I don’t measure anything in terms of weight anymore. I measure how i feel, how comfortable my clothes are, and my overall health. Then I do what works, like walking, even in the snowy, icy conditions.

YES! I told my hub that this past weekend. It was 1 pound on the scales but my jeans fit so very different these days which is awesome. And hey – if we feel better about ourselves, isn’t that half the battle? ❤ June

Congrats on your pound, that is great. I don’t own a scale (I keep meaning to get one but then don’t) but noticed my pants are so tight around the waste this past week!

Mom is trying her hardest to lose some of the 15 lbs she gained back over the last year. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot but to Mom, her 15 lbs is as significant as other’s 50 lbs. All that matters is how someone feels in their body and if 1 extra lb makes them sad, then it’s important. She initially lost her weight with Herbalife. She was doing so good and even started selling the product. Then she stopped. For no reason at all other than laziness. She was in her prime physique (a six pack and all!) when she stopped. Now she hardly fits in any of her clothes. Now she’s watching what she eats and started doing Herbalife again. I’m proud of both of you! *ear licks* Noodle

aaww – hugs to your mom my sweet friend. We can do this together – we really can! It’s hard. It really is. The biggest thing I have found is pre-planning. Is there really enough time in the day to do everything? ❤ June

Pre-planning is VERY important! Whenever Mom doesn’t think ahead about dinner is when bad decisions happen. Like, frozen pizza, mac n cheese, hot dogs, etc. All carbs and salt.

YES! Mom can be really good at times and then there are “those” days at work where whatever happens for dinner.. or go for what you know. I hate to say it but some of those days dad loves – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Personally, I LOVE the way I look. 🙂 Mom, however, is still checking the scales every Saturday. She held steady this past week. She is chins up with the “at least I didn’t go up” attitude and is even more determined this week. She is certainly happy with one pound off week as has been expressed throughout the comments. I wonder if less goodies for her means more goodies for me??

Snorts! You know my friend I help my mom out every chance I get. If she gets a cookie, I get 1/2. If she eats a chip, I get 1/2. I look at it as my personal way of helping mom’s butt out – snorts with piggy laughter. And yes, your mom is doing great. One day at a time and 1 pound at a time. XOXO – Bacon

a pound is GREAT! They all add up. I have been at the beach on holiday for a week for Australia Day and I think I would rather not talk about my food and drink choices! LOL! Bring on tomorow! 😀
