Journey with Friends

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

My friends. Shaking my head. It was a rough week. I don’t know what happened. No I take that back. I know what happened. Jims birthday dinner and dessert and then there was converting values and working on year end closures at work. Sigh – I know. Excuses. That’s all this is. I also was not prepared in the fridge or pantry.

But I have now went to the store and stocked up on the items needed for a couple of weeks. I am more prepared physically and I’m glad to say mentally after getting some work items closed out. I’ve also cleared my calendar a little more for me – which I think is highly important. I’ll be much happier next week in reporting in.

    Many years ago when I was trying to lose some weight I found that I had to “start over” several times before it finally STUCK. Once I made my mind up not to slide down the slippery slope again (!) the weight I wanted to lose left. It will happen to you too! It’s just not easy getting in the groove! BUT YOU CAN DO IT!

      Thank you Pam. I really appreciate that. I feel better this week knowing that all holidays/birthdays are behind me and that I finally went to the store yesterday and got the right foods. Part of this way of eating is being prepared and I so wasn’t last week. Here is shooting for an awesome week this week. Hugs. ❤ June

    It is pretty darn hard my sweet..i have lost 1.5 kilos and eaten some naughty things..but i have sweated it off in this sauna called Australia! I have been eating more salads with basic dressing i make with a little olive oil some dijon mustard and white balsamic vinegar..trying to have more salad less naughty on the plate..mind it is summer here so roasted veg is out..that helps..and also only eating fish i guess..not easy and i still feel uncomfy..maybe the next few days of heat will help with a bit more..keep going girl you got this xxxLove Bev

      aaww thanks my friend. It is so hard for real! But I finally did get to go to the store yesterday and stock up on the right foods. And you know what, shopping for this way of eating is #1 time consuming – OH MY HEAVENS – we were in the store for almost 2 hours yesterday checking everything out and #2 COSTLY! Why in this society does it cost MORE to eat right than it does to eat wrong and be over weight? Shaking my head. It totally doesn’t make sense does it? ❤ June

    My mom lost 5 lbs while she was away… that means her new years mission is completed. butt before she has no goal for the other 11 month of the year, she stuffed herself with tons of chocolate, so she can start again… humans… sigh…

      What can I say Easy. Chocolate and diamonds are a girls best friends – LOL. I had some run ins with chocolate last week. Chocolate won and my butt got bigger. But that is literally behind me now 🙂 This week will be better. ❤ June

        that’s what my mom hopes too… and honestly after a whole box of that stuff she said she can’t see it anymore… that’s a good start lol

    I had a bad dinner on Friday. I don’t own a scale (maybe I should). We then had all the chaos of no power yesterday, so I got a little off my game then. Today is a new day and we go forward.

      That is right my friends. TODAY is a new day and we concentrate on TODAY. We can do this together. I am having a pretty good day so far. I didn’t plan too well this morning but my hub is helping with that today by cooking a few things for me to bring tomorrow. Thank goodness for him! ❤ June

      aaww thank you my friend. I appreciate that so very much. Life is hard and with the added stresses of it, it does add up and snowball into a lot of pressure. I’m doing better this morning. I think the biggest thing is pre-planning. ❤ June

      And you didn’t call me to attend your party? LOL – I so would have skyped you and joined in. It was that kind of weekend. We all jump back on the bandwagon today and this week will be so much better for us. I just know it well! ❤ June

    No need to beat yourself up (I always thought there were others to do that-stop taking away their jobs 🙂 ). Sometimes progress is measured in two steps forward and one back. You’re still ahead of the game and that’s the important thing. Big comforting hugs. ღ

    Mom and I gained almost a pound. We are starting over this week. I am so glad there are “do-overs” in this life. Um, Bacon, are you on a diet too?

      Looks around innocently – me on a diet? I work hard for this pot-belly my friend – snorts with piggy laughter. Seriously, mom/dad always watch my food intake. They don’t want me getting fat jowls – go figure huh? XOXO – Bacon

    The last two weeks of December and first two weeks of January are the worst but hopefully now we start smooth sailing! I have also started “bullet journaling” for a more productive, time efficient me!
    Bullet Journaling is worth a google. 😀

      YES! I actually saw that over the holidays and I like it. I’m using that as my schedules, goals and commitments. I’m digging it so far! ❤ June
