Daddy wanted to make sure that he told everyone that wished him Happy Birthday yesterday – thank you so very much. It really touched his little heart. Mom surprised him by coming home early yesterday from the worky place and taking him to one of his favorite restaurants that has all you can eat crab legs. Afterwards, she then took him to a local diner for a small slice of birthday cake – which also happened to be his favorite peanut butter cake. I’m attaching photos for you to see how happy he was my friends 🙂
Dad says it’s all about preparation first so it’s important to have your tools of the trade in hand and ready to go waiting for the endless crab legs to arrive to the party. This is his serious face of bring on the feast. Then when the guest of honor arrives on it’s platter, dad says it’s important for separation. Take each ‘leg’ off gently now. This allows for you to overtake your opponent in a more civilized manner without popping crab legs across the room. I’m thinking with daddy saying that, it’s had to happen to him before. What do you think? Snorts. Then you pop the pieces that you can… gently though. It’s not the time to be strong armed and you want to be gentle with your crab. And sometimes dad says it helps to talk to your food. Mom said she heard him telling these crab, “I know… I can’t wait for you to be in my belly too.”Shaking piggy head. Yes. I truly believe daddy needs professional help… maybe a straight jacket and padded room too. I’m just sayin’.
And if you did all of this, you will be so fortunate to pull out full pieces of crab meat from those succulent legs. Just look at that long piece of meat dad is fixing to devour there. Mom will tell you in a heartbeat, she is pretty lucky to have daddy in her life. Not only is he a great guy but he is a professional when it comes to crab legs and getting that awesome meat out of those shells. When mom’s fingers give in from her arthritis, dad is always a gentleman and steps up to crack hers for her. aaww – isn’t he a keeper?
.
And did I say that these crab legs were prepared in a spicy boil. So when you ate them, you got some heat. Not just heat from them being just out of the pot but heat as in spicy heat. After all those crab legs, daddy had to have something sweet that he shared with mom.
Yep, that was ONE slice of birthday cake – peanut butter cake to be exact.

Happy belated birthday to your dad, Bacon. With my peeps being gone for the funeral, we have gotten way behind. The big question is, did he bring you and Houdini any of the ginormous piece of cake?

He and mom split it and had some left over – which accounts for why mom didn’t stick to her way of eating this week. I think that cake was her downfall. And no they didn’t finish it. Mom had a strict policy though not to bring it home – which I’m thinking she was glad after weighing in Saturday – snorts with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon

Sugar might as well be rat poison-and it’s truly addictive. Good on your mom for being disciplined. ღ

It was hard for mom to walk away from that cake but she did. She is really trying hard not to keep sweets in the house – that includes full sodas which she has taken completely off her food list. XOXO – Bacon

Sodas are in league with the devil. The aspartame in diet drinks is worse than plain sugar!

YES! Being from the south, I am used to drinking Coke. I had my last one last week. I do miss them already but know that going without them is so much better for my body. And diet I don’t have to worry about – I *hate* the diet soda’s. They give me a wicked bad headache. On the other hand though, I’m drinking plenty of water which is so much better for my body 🙂 ❤ June

Good for you! If it’s the carbonation you crave, try Pellegrino. I love fizzie water to really quench my thirst. I have found that on-stop snacking usually means my body is asking for water, not more snacks. Continued good luck as you implement healthier habits! ღ

Thank you my friend! I will definitely try that Pellegrino. I’ve tried other carbonated waters and eeww – they taste nasty. Maybe this will be better 🙂 ❤ June
