Journey with Friends

Oh my friends – the overwhelming support that you have all shown me this past week has been so totally awesome!  I have been blown away by the suggestions, the wonderful comments and the encouragement.  I just know I can do this now.  And did you notice my blog heading, Journey with Friends?  It has been suggested that not only can this be a place for “ME”, it can be a place for others as well that are going down this path of better health.  Some place where we can all meet up once a week for encouragement and strength.  Please feel free to share any of your wisdom – great recipes, motto’s, encouragement, ideas, suggestions and/or your weight loss stories and goals.  Together we can do this!

Now, for my week. My first goal is to get my blood work where it needs to be.  My next blood work is scheduled at the end of January/early February.  The second goal is to lose weight and be healthier.  My ultimate weigh loss goal is 100 pounds but I’m breaking that up into smaller 25 pound goals of course four times until goal.  It’s not a race with this weight loss goal – it’s a way of life in changing my eating habits.

This past week, I made several changes in my lifestyle.  One of them was eating.  In that time, I lost 6 pounds!  I am thrilled beyond belief with that.  I also started walking more and taking care of me better.  This week I will still be concentrating on doing better with the exception of Thanksgiving Day.  Thanksgiving I will take a break and call this a no diet day 🙂

    You are amazing…you know why..i have been resisting treats but caved on the weekend..felt the huge garden workout earned’s not easy making changes to old habits we all you go you good thing go! Love Bev xxxxand yes super proud xxx

        June i know..i had a bad day today..very down and tired and for some reason have wanted to eat all idea why..i think we all need to maybe be kinder to ourselves at the and downs are part of got this i know you have! Love Bev xx

    I love the hundreds chart. We had lots of uses for them when I was a teacher. I like that you’re using it for your journey to good health. Also, having Thanksgiving be a no holds barred day is a good idea. That kind of day is needed every now and then. You only live once, after all.

      Amen to that my friend. This is a lifestyle change for the rest of my life. With that in mind, one day for thanksgiving in living in the present will be a great day for family. That way I don’t think I’m denying myself. June

    PAWSOME!!! Very well done – six pounds is a lot in your first week and should be a HUGE push of encouragement as you head down the path to your goal. You have a LOFTY goal but we know that when you get there you will be feeling not only proud of yourself, but healthier (plus you can go out and buy a whole new wardrobe which is always a big plus…..). Seriously – CONGRATULATIONS! You’re rockin’ it!

    BRAVO!!!!! it’s great to have such a chart, sometimes we need something what gives us a fat YES! when we stuck or when we feel blue. My mom took a photo efurryday when she entered the scale and the photo landed with a YAY! on the fridge… next to the phorto she made of herself before she started her die-t.

      Yes! Pictures never lie and I have one as well to post at a later date of the before. I’m trying to weigh only twice a week and that’s due to something else I’m up to 🙂 June

    Great start! Please remember that there will be some ups and downs in the journey, but keep your eye on the goals you have set. I have found that the use of a fitness tracker (I use FitBit) helps in that it gives you a daily goal in the number of steps you take and has you keeping track of the food you eat as well. There are also other apps that exchange information with FitBit to give more insight and encouragement. I also use MyFitnessPal and Walking4Fun.
