Bacon’s Tales of Terror

13 Nov

Welcome my friends to another edition of Bacon’s Tales of Terror.  I hope you didn’t get too scared with my 31 Days of Spook.  And to think – I saved a really good true story for today.  Something that my little brother Houdini and my mommy saw happen right here at the Hotel Thompson.  Are you afraid yet?  Well if not, come closer to the computer screen for a really great story.  My mom is going to tell it… are you ready?

There we were a couple of weeks ago here at the Hotel Thompson.  It had been one of those weeks that rain and fog was taken over the area.  You know the rain and fog I’m talking about – the cold drizzly kind that falls like icicles down the back of your neck when you are running from the car to the house. All I wanted to do was get home, make a fire, fix dinner and then go to bed.  What a day.

And that’s what I did in that order.  After everyone was fed, we had a little quiet time together and then it was bedtime with stories and tucking in for the anipals.  Me and the hub were finally able to hit the bed ourselves.  By the time the hub’s head hit his pillow, he was out like a light for the night.  I however had problems of tossing and turning while listening to the rain hit the bedroom windows.  After a while, sleep finally found me.

Then something woke me.  I wasn’t sure what it was at first so I just remained where I was and listened.  I heard Houdini whimpering in his room.  That was so unlike him.  I gave him a few minutes in case he was dreaming but it didn’t stop.  And it sounded like he was right at his bedroom door and not in his bed where I put him.  I got up to check on him and we went into the living room for a while.

I kept all of the lights off except the small little night light in the hallway.  We sat on the sofa, Houdini in my arms and me comforting him by gently rocking.  A few minutes went by and something caught my eye.  The sofa overlooks our big front room windows over the porch.  I looked again to see what it was that I had seen.  Silently I watched, gently rocking Houdini and waited.  Then it happened again.  A shadow of a person or something that walked in front of the windows towards the front door.  WTH?!

Not only did I see it, so did Houdini.  He bounced off of me, ran across the room and started barking like crazy.  I got up and silently tip toed over to the door.  I gently pulled the curtain to the side to see who was out there.  Nobody.  Nothing.  No one.  And then it dawned on me.  There’s a security light on the front porch.  If someone had ‘walked’ on the front porch like we had seen, the light would have went on.  It didn’t.  Was I seeing things?  If so, then Houdini was too.

After a few minutes, Houdini quit barking.  He crawled back up in my lap on the sofa and went to sleep.  I on the other hand did not.  I sat and wondered about exactly what did we see?

Have you ever had something like this happen?

It might have been a human, still, who just knows how to keep clear of security lights. But you would hear a human walk, wouldn’t you? I mean, a porch is made from wood – even with socks you make the wood creak when you walk on it.

Our porch is concrete so you wouldn’t hear the ‘walking’ per say. But our security light has a perimeter that will go off from any point of one stepping in the front yard. It was totally weird. Houdini says he say the shadow as well as mom. But nothing came on. Then when mom looked which was like within seconds, there was nothing out there. It was totally weird from go when mom heard Houdini whining in his room which he never does. XOXO – Bacon

That sounds scary. I wouldn’t be able to sleep either. I have woke up a couple of times as I thought someone banged on my bedroom window in the middle of the night.

Now that is so weird my friend. Thinks like waking up in the middle of the night when you *know* something woke you up but you don’t know what, that is so totally scary! XOXO – Bacon

it happpened here vice versa. the movement sensor worked but no one was there. and I saw a shadow in the fog and Easy saw it too and growled. I called Mark and he went out and said we are completely nuts, there is no one and nothing. But he saw it too… the weird thing was that we watched a documentary about ghosthunters before and we both laughed at the people who wasted a lot of moneeh to get a ghost-buster diploma. maybe that mysterious phenomenon was a punishment?

Snorts with piggy laughter! A ghost-buster diploma, really? All the research I do for my spook stories, I should have a PhD by now. Like in my mom’s situation and yours, if us anipals didn’t see it that would be one thing. But us anipals see more things than humans. Weird huh? XOXO – Bacon

bro… 800 $$ for a diploma after you had to run around on a cemetery with wearing absurd equipment and after listening 90 minutes to an audio tape what they played backwards…

You know Auntie Sharon I didn’t think about that. I could have been. It’s colder weather now and he’s back there usually this time of the year. I may have to go and investigate today to have a talk with him. XOXO – Bacon
