My Mom Needs a Whip

12 Nov

That’s right – I said it.  Mom needs some accountability.

She’s struggling at most these days with this entire life change of eating.  Personally, I think YOU my friends can help.  I think mom needs to write about her struggles here on Mondays – you know after the long weekend – for some kind of accountability.  You know that way she can tell you in black and white what she did for the week previous – if she lost weight – her fears and her struggles.  Then YOU my friends can help her.  You know with encouragement and hard love.  Me and the other anipals and dad can help on the home front but I think it takes a village.  So what do you think my friends.  Are you willing to help out mom?  Do you think she needs to do her own journal on Mondays for accountability?  You tell me and I will tell her what you say.  She needs all the encouragement she can get.  We all do!

This sounds awesome. Mom doesn’t know about this yet – snorts. But I know she will be game. It will hopefully give her the extra ‘edge’ that she needs. Thanks my friend. XOXO – Bacon

Changing your eating habits is a life long journey. It does get better…eventually. As your body adjusts you don’t have the cravings as much. If it would help her, she should indeed write about her struggles. We can help catch her if she starts to fall off the wagon.

I do think your “mom” might need to become friends with another bacon:

Dear Bacon, yes, I think it’s a good idea. I’m a health enthusiast and research health religiously based on science and facts. I’d love to help in any way if she wants to change her eating habit and make it a lifestyle. Here is a book I recommend she reads: The Starch Solution by Dr. John McDougall. And a doc she could watch: Forks Over Knives. And websites to check out:

Maybe all of this could help her with her journey. Good luck and all the best! ❤

I think your Mom should start posting every single Monday for the entire universe to see, how much weight she lost in the prior week. She can even confess to any “falling off the wagon” events she might have had (eeeek) – if she HAS to tell all of us EVERY WEEK…..maybe that will be some “hard love incentive” ??????

I think you are so right cousin. Me and dad have talked her into doing this. If she has to be accountable, maybe she will step up. She keeps slipping and asking me and dad for help is not working. I mean hey we are guys, right? XOXO – Bacon

As a doggie who has been on treat restriction dozens of times, I’m dying to know how your mom is doing on her treat restriction. Bring it on.

You are doing terrific June. Mom has lost 3 pounds in the past 3 weeks. It’s ok she doesn’t need applause. Which is good because she’s not getting any. hehe

My auntie went in this morning for a Gastric Sleeve. She will be a liquid diet for 3 weeks. She wil not be able to drink more than 1/3 of a cup of liquid, it can’t have any particles of food in it, at one sitting. She will drink about every hour for awhile. Auntie was quite heavy and now it will take months before she can eat any meat. Makes one stop and think about the value of a diet.

Oh WOW! It really does my friend. Bless her heart – she is indeed up to a battle. We will definitely keep her in our prayers here at the Hotel Thompson. Mommy talked to me and daddy last night and she is good for reporting here every Monday for some accountability. I think this will be wonderful and give her the encouragement that she needs to get through this knowing that she is not alone – none of us are in this battle. XOXO – Bacon

Definitely, Bacon! We’d be glad to help. My mom had a hard time a few years ago giving up carbs, dairy and sugar – it was a struggle and I learned a lot of strange new words that she doesn’t use in public – but she feels much better now so she said it was worth it. But she has to stay on this thing she calls a lifestyle diet change forever, and sometimes it’s very hard. So she’d be happy to help!

Amen to that! Mommy knows it’s going to be a lifestyle change for the rest of her life. She can do this – she just needs some shoulders and encouragement and at times a little stern talking to. Breads and sugars be gone – Monday is the day she will start and journal. Thank you so much for helping out! XOXO – Bacon

I am here with support and of course I always push the walk option. I was very impressed with the “tail” of the stroller. I personally never thought of getting one but now I am. My critters are getting old and they would love to be wheeled to the park and then be lifted out for a romp.
I haven’t been walking as much either because the critters are not as keen and my son for some reason doesnt want me to walk to school with him. Possibly because I would slow him now.
Anyway I am here and I think the answer is walking and water and something meaning encouragement starting with W. 😀

aaww Auntie Sharon. Thank you so much!! Mommy is starting today full speed ahead and knowing that she has everyone’s support here guiding her, that is inspirational to her. She is trying to ‘move it’ more often, drinking LOTS of water and making better eating choices. And walking – lots of walking. Thank you so much my friend for the support. She really appreciates it! XOXO – Bacon

Healthful eating is a lifelong process and anything that keeps you on track is a good thing. Keep after it…you will eventually see how it pays off. There are two universal rules that ALWAYS apply to weight loss. Eat less, move more. It’s very simple but super effective. However you can accomplish those two universals, will work. Good luck!

That’s great advice. I appreciate that my friend. I like that, “Eat less, move more”. I’m going to print that for my desk. Thanks so very much for the support! ❤ June ❤
