OMP! There I was this weekend, working on my laptop minding my own business since mom/dad deserted me and took Bashful on an adventure. That’s when I found this little bit of information on-line. I almost lost my piggy mind! We all know how much I love my strawberries around here at the Hotel Thompson. Heck, the more the merrier. But now Japan has done and did it. They have genetically mutated a BLUE strawberry. Squeals! Now, one part of me thinks how exciting and I would love to try one. While the other part of me, all I can think about is Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – snorts with piggy laughter. What do you think?

They aren’t quite real. There apparently are no blue strawberries available for purchase. They are developing strawberries, using fish genes, that have new properties and they appear blue, apparently. But not this sort of blue. At least that is what I am reading online . . . .

Oh dear piggy heavens above – thank goodness for that. I just don’t think I could wrap my piggy lips around a blue one. Thanks for the info my friend! XOXO – Bacon

Snorts with piggy laughter. I didn’t think about that brother. I don’t think I need an extra tail or Lord forbid those horns grow out of my head for real – snorts. Yeah, I’ll let my dad have them. XOXO – Bacon

The words genetically mutated do not spell tasty. There is a good reason there is no blue food in nature. Bleck.

I’m so glad you have online liberties when you’ve been abandoned, giving you the opportunity to find and share these treasures.

I prefer my strawberries unmodified, please. Unless whipped cream is considered a modification. 😉

I know Auntie Sharon. They need to leave perfection alone. My strawberries are fine just the way they were born. XOXO – Bacon
