I saw a special on my television about this island. It’s called Poveglia Island. It was so spooky, foggy at night and mysterious. Would you stay on the island overnight?

In 2014, the Italian state announced that it would auction a 99-year lease of Poveglia — which would remain state property — in the following month to raise revenue, hoping that the buyer would redevelop the hospital into a luxury hotel.
It does not sound as if the Italian government wants to keep people away from the island, according to Wikipedia.

About 3 years ago, a cruise ship planning to make a port call in Venice had developed engine trouble. The closest the ship could make under tow was Poveglia Island. The passengers would be disembarked onto launches that would take them into Venice. While waiting for 36-48 hours for transport into Venice, passengers reported many eerie, unexplained things. They didn’t like it there.
