Over or Under That is the Question.

08 Aug

Okay friends.  Let’s talk about something important to the humans in their special scratch box area they like to call the bathroom…the powder room… the loo…LOL

I have learned that there is the ever growing question of over or under.  I was confused at first too.  I thought who cares.  Then I heard some conversations here at the Hotel Thompson and at Nana’s.  Apparently this is a huge crisis that the humans ponder on a daily basis.

Do you know that some folks (I won’t say who mom) will actually change the rolls of white paper in other peoples homes and at work if it is the wrong way.  Unbelievable isn’t it?  So here is the question for you my fellow anipals.  Run to the room that your humans think highly of and look at the roll.  Is it over or under?

Here at the Hotel Thompson there is only one way – over.  Who would have thought it was such a big deal – right?

This is a big deal here too Bacon. Dad used to put it under….mom has talked to him about it and now he only does it when he wants to tick mom off. Just leaving the roll on top of the old empty roll is a sin!! Yes, I said a sin. Where were you brought up? In an outhouse? This is a no no and is met with much shaking of the head. Over is the only way to have the TP. It is easy to grab during an emergency and doesn’t crush the existing TP.

Exactly! It’s so hard to get peeps trained with this. Dad is the chief TP installer here at the Hotel Thompson. He has been firmly instructed over the years that it is *always* over and NEVER under – NEVER. XOXO – Bacon

I think the humans leave it over – but Then, I don’t pay much to it other than to shred it!😹

Snorts and rolls with laughter. Same here. I have been known to take off with it in my house up and down the Hotel Thompson. I think that might be contributed to one of the reasons why mom/dad keep the bathroom door closed now in the hallway. You think? Snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Over, here too. I think it is easier to grab the toilet paper (no coy TP from me) and after showers you do not want toilet paper go wet on the humid tiles behind.
It drives me mad at work when people take the last toilet paper and do not even replace the roll!

Oh my goodness! Mommy says that ticks her off like no other when the peeps at work don’t replace the roll – I mean heck just through some in the paper. XOXO – Bacon

I even went around at my office and asked all the other ladies if they were not replacing them – it seems to work (fingers crossed) – since then I never found an empty roll (and I mean EMPTY) in the cubicle.

Oh yes. My mommy has done that too. What is funny – at mom’s work. There are two holders in the stalls of the bathrooms. The janitors will put 1 roll under and 1 roll over to please the peeps. Hilarious! XOXO – Bacon

my mom is one of that tp rooll changers too… she even did that at the highway potty… how embarrassing… my dad said he is anyway wrong on that front so if he has tio change that roll he parks it on the toilet tank, so SHE can place it the correct way (if the Weimaraner wasn’t there before her and used that roll for writing his wishlist for Santa)

I’m am an UNDER! Why? If it’s over, when you go to rip it, it tends to unroll more than you need and that’s wasteful. Under uses the weight of the roll to aid in ripping the right amount. This rule goes for paper towels also. 😃
However! I agree that the sideways-on-top-of-old-roll will get you sent to hell!

Oh my – now that is definitely one way to look at the situation of the TP. It makes sense… although we don’t do it here. And agree, whoever the monster is that just throws up on on the old one – they deserve a straight one way ticket to hell. XOXO – Bacon

We are an ‘over’ household. Now I have an idea to share ~~ we use the empty cardboard cylinder to hold extension cords and cords attached to small appliances that we stash away when not in use. No wrestling to in tangle cords.
Have a great week end Bacon and family !

Awesome!!! I’m so glad to see we are not the only ones that recycle the core of the finished TP roll. We love those things for everything. Mom also gives them to us anipals as toys. They are really good for a lot of different things! One thing mom has done is taken about 20 of them and put them standing in a basket. She puts a little notch on the top of each one. Then she can put her necklaces, one in each tube, with the top part in the notch. No of them get tangled again. If they have matching earrings, she pokes them through the top. Organizational awesome. It’s always under! ALWAYS UNDER! Especially if you have purr-things in a house that like to play with the T.P.! If it’s hung-over, the T.P. ends up in a big, unusable pile on the floor by the toilet, because a purr-thing has chosen to get bored and slap the roll around – so there’s a VERY good reason to hang it under!
    😀

If it’s hung-over, it might also be drunk…and we don’t want to know how THAT happens!
    XD

Snorts with piggy laughter. You see the staff here know about the purr things playing with the ‘over’ TP. Heck, even a certain oinker here – looks innocently around – has been known to take off with some in his mouth. Therefore, mom/dad did what was best. The bathroom is off limits to us anipals. The bathroom door is always kept shut. XOXO – Bacon

The house I grew up in had no TP roll holder, so the roll sat on…….. the windowsill. No, I’m not making that up! The window was too high off the ground for any peeping toms to watch you do your business, but you could still see the roll sitting there pretty as can be from the outside!

Oh snorts! That is hilarious. Thank goodness there is no window in our bathroom. Mom lived in an apartment one time that had a window – are you ready? – in the shower stall! It was hilarious. XOXO – Bacon

I have one of those new TP holders that sticks straight up in the air, so the question now is – roll from the front or the back? On no…
