So there we were this past Saturday all of us bundled in the living room watching the clock intensely. We were expecting a long distance call from someone here in blogville. Someone that we have talked to verbally by type, sent packages to back/forth and even talked to them on Facebook. But we had never talked in person via the phone. Emails were sent back and forth and the magical time was set for 2:30 pm our time which would make it 8:30 pm their time. That’s right, they are SIX hours ahead of us.
Then it happen
ed. The phone rang. We all jumped of course because we were concentrating on the phone and clock. Mom answered the phone and put it on speaker.
Mom – “Hello”
Friend in blogville – “Hello is this the Hotel Thompson?”
Score – jumps for joy. It is our friend and not a solicitor or robo call – snorts. I know – I know. You’re asking who was the caller. It was – are you ready for this – my brother Easy from France! We were ALL so excited. We got to talk to Easy’s dad and had such a blast! Mom was so excited that she got to talk to a real Frenchman – hubba hubba. It was an awesome time full of fact changing and getting to know each other and ask questions that we’ve always wanted to. And talk about accents. WOW! It was great.
One never knows who might reach out from across the telephone lines in the future. Thanks Easy for calling this oinker. We had the best of time! I know it’s greedy to say but we can’t wait to do it again!

Okay Friends – Here We Go!
My sweet friends at Nikitaland have started this monthly issue of Pay It Forward. We asked for you to keep this in mind all month and to share things here today on what you have been able to do. Paying it forward is not for bragging purposes – it’s an attempt to show how many different things we can do to pay it forward – lots of them don’t even include money. Gestures that we take for granted may be a God send to another person.
.
This month mom is challenging you to pick one day and give every person you meet some type of compliment. Whether it be they look terrific, they did a great job or they are a great friend. Tell everyone something for one entire day. Will YOU accept this personal challenge? Keep up with what you do for the month my friends.
My buddy Nikitaland made up a good deeds sheet. You can get it here. You can print it, hang it on your fridge and just jot some things down that you do during the month. That way at our next meet up, you can share what you have done to PAY IT FORWARD.
AND if you are interested in getting some Pay it Forward bracelets, check out Nikitaland’s post here for ordering information. Believe me friends – WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Next meet up will be August 5, 2015 – mark your calendars!

It’s that time of the year my friends. The time that I start working on my 31 Days of Spook for October 2015. Every day in October 2015, I will highlight everything spooky, things that go bump in the night, the “boo’s” that yell at you and I will ask you intriguing questions that keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the third year that I will be doing this and it does take some time to get together all of the different stories. I hope that you enjoy it as much this year as you have in the past.
.
Like last year, I’m taking submissions for stories (true or not) that you have experienced. Perhaps there is something spooky about an area in your town. A supposed haunted house or spooky cemetery. A legend that is known in your area.
If you would like to be highlight
ed during my 31 Days of Spook, send me an email at Bacon.Thompson@gmail.com
I will need your name, blog address (if applicable) and story. I will email you back a date/time that you will be highlighted on my blog in October 2015. Stories can be marked anonymous – but I will need your name for my records okay. Can’t wait to see everything in October – BOO!
