Open Apology to Mom

23 Jun

Okay all of us anipals here at the Hotel Thompson are writing this to mom as an open apology for our misbehavior this morning.  We apologize and will try very hard not to let it happen again.  Really.  We will.  So let us explain our behavior my friends.

First up.  Mom is not a morning person.  Not at all.  We are talking zombie before coffee – no coffee no talkie.  Well this morning, rolls piggy eyes and looks innocent, someone set the alarm to zero five hundred dark in the woods time to get up… something about trying to be the first to check in with cousin Sammy’s Tuesday Teaser. (And no I wasn’t first – darn it and shuffles hooves).  Well after I checked in, I went back to sleep in the big bed – see me here in the picture.  Mom was not amused.  She got up, went to the bathroom, mumbled about who in their right mind would change the alarm clock and then went back to bed for a few minutes.  Unfortunately that’s when she fell asleep and that’s bad.  Bad because today is a worky day and she has to go that worky place.  And the alarm clock already went off.  This is not good.

A couple of hours later, mom wakes up because Hemi is rolling around on her side.  That’s when she notices that it is awfully lit inside of the room.  She sits up and oh.my.gosh.it’s.a.run.for.your.money because it’s almost 8:00AM.  What the cream cheese?  What happened?  I know – I know – “someone set the alarm to zero five hundred dark in the woods time to get up”.

She jumps out of bed, tells daddy she’s running late and starts the marathon.  But of course we are all standing there looking at her like, “Hey, remember us?”  You know that pitiful look of we have never eaten before and are starving – snorts.  And did you know there is a reason why we anipals get up in shifts in the morning for feeding.  You see, I need to eat first.  It’s just the way it is.  Once you satisfy my rumbling belly with my piggy chow and Cheerio’s, I’ll go back to sleep.  Then there is Houdini that gets fed.  If you don’t feed him by himself and watch, the purr things try to eat his food.  And then lastly, it’s the purr things.  We all like the purr things food – snorts. Try feeding us all at one time – snorts with piggy laughter.  Let’s just say that it didn’t go too well and mom still had not had any coffee.

And then there was the incident with the front room carpet mat near the entrance.  Someone was caught gnawing on it like it was a puppy treat – not mentioning any names little guy.  There’s now a hole in it and mommy might have blown a gasket because of that…. or maybe it was because I butted my head through the baby gate into the kitchen and ate some of the purr things food?… or maybe it was the purr thing Hemi chasing Houdini around the house knocking over the water dish?  I’m not really sure what exactly it was that threw mommy over the edge this morning but I think she sure was glad to go to the worky place this morning.  Sorry mom.

I would not be overly surprised, if your “Mom” had a change of heart when she comes back and turned into Chinese eating habits – eating everything that has four legs and is not a table.

Snorts! We faced time her during lunch so we could tell her we were sorry. We were all sleeping on the sofa when dad dialed. She thought that was funny. She forgives us and hasn’t cheated today on her DIEt yet. That’s a great thing. XOXO – Bacon

Yikes, it sounds like a rough morning indeed. What’s the expression…when it rains it pours? Sounds like you had a deluge. Hopefully the apology letter (and some good strong coffee) will get you all back in your mom’s good graces. Paws crossed. 🙂

Oh what a start …. I would feel like that guy to who knocks his head on the wall… the worst is, that if one thing goes wrong all other things follow that thing… like that lemming-guys… horrible… I’m sure your mom accepts your apology and when she comes home tonight, this morning is history and forgotten….
I will wait next tuesday, maybe you can get that early bird badge… :o)

Snorts with piggy laughter. It was hilarious brother when I saw you and AnimalCouriers there this morning. It was too funny and I went back to sleep afterwards. That’s why mom slept in but sshh – she doesn’t know why the alarm was set to zero five darker than a rat’s butt – snorts. XOXo – Bacon

Snorts! Mom said there was no way she would call out sick to stay home with us today – she just couldn’t do that. Dad is made for that – snorts. Talk about your reverse table huh? XOXO – Bacon

Well I’m just SURE she couldn’t resist this heartfelt and pitiful apology from the Hotel Crew……after all, it was TUESDAY – my Teaser waits for no man (or pig) so it was impawtant that you get that alarm clock changed…….you were there EARLY this morning – so it worked – it was just an unfortunate circumstance that your Mom OVERSLEPT!

    Hugs, Sammy

Snorts – yeah that’s it cousin. You are so right. Perhaps she won’t even notice next Tuesday when I do the same thing – snorts with piggy laughter. I’ll give her extra snuggles tonight when she gets home. She can’t resist those 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

When it rains, it pours. Or snores, or snorts. Some days you just have to take a pass on and try again tomorrow.

Sounds like a fun morning. We don’t need an alarm here because it is a rare day that we sleep past zero five hundred dark in the woods .

Snorts! Mom likes to sleep at least until zero five hundred one semi-dark semi-getting light outside. Of course, we anipals help her with that. XOXO – Bacon

It really did. We face timed her during lunch and she was feeling so much better… I’m not sure if it was because of the coffee or because she was at work and we were at home? hhhmm – that does make this little piggy think. XOXO – Bacon

We did exactly that when she got home. We were also so very tired from getting up at zero dark early hours. We all took turns napping on her. She kept trying to wake us up. Snorts. XOXO – Bacon

It really did my sweet friend. Of course when we called her today at lunch time, Houdini acted like he was asleep and gave her the cold shoulder. He’s so fickle. Snorts. XOXO – Bacon

There’s not much worse than a fickle bro dog. Except of course no food…that’s way worse.

I have found that this *sometimes* works with my dad…but only when he acknowledges who the *real* pack leader is!

I’m sure that your mom forgives you, LOL – especially if she pretends to be more mad than she really is.
    *woof*

Oh we did. We were perfect little darlings when she got home… except the one time Houdini stole some food off her plate… oh and then there’s the one tiny little thing I did to her ankle with my snout… but other than that – angels! XOXO – Bacon

Ah, one of those “somebody set the alarm clock wrong & I still gotta get to work & not forget to feed the animals” kinda days. *sigh* Don’t you hate when that happens?!!!!! PS, I hope you made it up to your mom when she got home!

I put chilli sauce on the bottom stair to deter Jack (terrier) from chewing it. He thought it was delicious and chewed the bottom stair twice as much! 😦 LOL!
No answers here. Jack is as loving and funny as he is destructive (which is enormous) 😀

Oh boy. Is that dog Houdini going to be in trouble then. Snorts! Mom caught him again this morning. Of all the rugs in the house, he has to get her favorite. She told him this morning that if he continued, he was going to be the smallest rug in the house. Of course she was joking but I thought it was hilarious. XOXO – Bacon
