Bacon’s Show and Tell – REMINDER

My friends – let’s make each other laugh for this next installment of Bacon’s Show and Tell.  For this month, please share with us something that was hilarious that you got as a gift whether it was a present, a card or a note.  What made it funny?  Did the card or note have something comical in it?  Was the present an “inside” joke between you and a friend?  What made you laugh hysterically when you received these items?  Discuss when we meet back here on Friday, June 26, 2015.

Piggy Ramblings

Let’s ramble a bit shall we my friends?  First up let’s talk about birthdays. Mom is a little blue today – in a good way though.  Her baby Houdini turns the big ONE.  Of course mom tells all of us anipals that we are ALL her babies which we know.  And now Chip (Bashful’s son and my grandson) is almost potty trained.  All of the babies are growing up so fast here at the Hotel Thompson.

Also mom has been doing this DIEt thing.  Lord help us all here.  Mom says she is doing things differently this time with her DIEt and she is recording everything that passes her lips in a journal on her iPhone (there’s an app for that – snorts).  She tells daddy every night that you just don’t understand how many calories you are consuming until you start logging them.  It has definitely been an eye opener for mom.  We all tread lightly around her on this DIEt.  Of course, with mom cutting back that means we here area also cutting back.  See how that flows down hill?  This interprets to less Animal Crackers for me and less chips for daddy throughout the day.  But then mommy has to go to the worky place during the week – insert evil snorts.  What she doesn’t know happens here when she is gone is a great thing.

Another happening thing here at the Hotel Thompson is the demise of mom’s laptop several months ago.  Bless her heart – it was a slow death of the Toshiba.  Toshiba was a great one and served years of hard work.  Mom used my laptop for a while but it wasn’t the same.  She complained something about piggy drool.  What?  It is *my* computer – rolls piggy eyes.  She has been using her iPhone and iPad for Facebook and blogging but she complained about the keyboard and something about when she gets on a roll she can’t type as fast as she wants due to the lack of a ‘real’ keyboard.  WOW – she is such a princess, isn’t she?  Snorts

Well yesterday, a package arrived not for me but for mom.  Amazing that they didn’t turn the package away because mom never gets packages.  She opened it up last night.  Of course, all of us anipals were right there in her lap and on the box to help out and see what it was.  Hey, it’s what we do.  She opened up a box and then another box inside of that box.  It almost seemed like Christmas and the anticipation was killing us all.  Then she struck gold – she got herself a new laptop.  I think I heard angels singing but maybe that was just the television.  She oohh and aaww over it while setting it up.  You would have thought she was in heaven and she might have been.  She was deliriously happy.  And you know what – that made us all happy.  Even daddy when she gave him the receipt for the bill – snorts.

Enough ramblings from this oinker.  What’s going on in your part of the world?  Anything funny?  Anything you want to talk about and share?

Oh and one more thing – I sounded like Columbo on that didn’t I?  Snorts – Love that detective.  Mom told daddy last night that she wished he came with a remote control with a mute button.  I’m not sure what that meant.  Do you?  Daddy just laughed and kept on singing and talking.

Houdini’s Party

It’s hard to believe but Little Man Houdini is officially ONE YEAR OLD today!!  Can you believe that?  Mom/dad brought him here to the Hotel Thompson to his forever home 9 months ago – he was a mere three months and only weighed 3 pounds.  This past weekend, mom/dad threw him a surprise birthday party with his doggy friends up at Nana’s.  We will be having a party for him here at the Hotel Thompson with all of us tonight.

When he first got to Nana’s, mom changed him into his outfit to the left – isn’t it adorable?  Oh my goodness – squeals.  You see on Saturday, mom/dad went birthday shopping for the little guy at our local pet store.  Houdini usually goes but couldn’t go this time so I went.  Mom/dad didn’t want him to see all of his gifts for his birthday.  And hey, I was in the car when they were doing their test on Albert vs Tank.  I love the pet store – so many friendly peeps.  Now I know why Houdini likes to go!  So mom got Houdini all dressed up and then dressed up Tinkerbell and Dingo for the birthday bash.

Aren’t these two just the cutest?  Dingo is on the left.  He tolerated his hat only because he kept saying, “There will be ice cream, right?”  Snorts – smart dog isn’t he?

Tinkerbell is on the right.  She really liked her hat.  She just pranced around the house wearing it… and looking for ice cream too.  But you gotta admit, for 14 years old Tinkerbell looks like 4, doesn’t she?  So cute and adorable.

And you are probably asking about the ice cream.  Did you know that there is an ice cream made specifically for dogs called Frosty Paws?  There is and you can buy it at your local grocery store.  It doesn’t have any added sugar and this particular box had peanut butter flavor.

And it’s good. How do I know?  Snorts – good question.  You see Nana told me.  When she served the ice cream, it was really hard.  Nana put it in the microwave for a few minutes to soften it.  Without thinking about it, she put her finger in it and tasted it to see if it was too warm.  Doh!  That’s when she realized she was eating doggy ice cream – snorts with piggy laughter. That’s our Nana.  But she said it was delicious. How delicious?  Let me show you some pics of the great ice cream eating fest.

This is Houdini blowing out his candle to the right.  He was making a wish first – for lots and LOTS of toys and food.

Then the picture to the left is Houdini being spoon fed by Nana.  Rolls piggy eyes.  Can you imagine that?  The little guy is getting SPOON FED for his birthday.

Of course, Nana put some on a plate too and he did eat some off of a plate with Dingo and Tinkerbell.

And don’t worry – Nana fixed Houdini a cake of sorts too.  This is it in the picture to the right – cute huh?  It had lots of food – Houdini got the pot of gold and got an entire box of Ceasar wet food.  He eats a little of that every morning with his dry food.  Talk about rotten huh?  Well you haven’t seen anything.  Look at all of the toys he got in his toy chest of a box.

He got a rope for tug a war from me.  See I was thinking about the little guy 🙂  The cats gave him the cow looking thing in the middle.  You stick an empty water bottle up it for the crunchy crinkly sound that Houdini loves.  And Tinkerbell and Dingo got him the ball inside of a ball on the far left.  So cool!

As you can see, Houdini had a great party at Nana’s.  Tonight we are having a quite dinner and fun time with him here at the Hotel Thompson.  But all of us anipals here have to tell the little guy –

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

And a special thank you to my brother Easy for sending the little guy his first birthday card.  Thanks brother – he loved it!
