Happy Friday my friends – we made it another week! This week while surfing the net in my bedroom, I came across this poem titled I Was Dying. I think it was so appropriate these days where we can be in such a rush with daily life that we don’t stop and smell the roses. I hope that this touches you the way it did us here at the Hotel Thompson. Happy Friday and let’s live some this weekend!

Exactly! That’s a great point brother. Live for TODAY and have an awesome time. Life is too short to wish everything on tomorrow. XOXO – Bacon

Tears, such a true statement, I often think of this. We do need to slow down. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you my friend. Life is way too fast. Sometimes we need to enjoy who we are with and what we are doing in the moment to actually live life. Happy weekend! XOXO – Bacon

I find this on the internet too the other day, and found it so sad, but eye-opening. Serves as a reminder to enjoy today. “Todo a su tiempo,” as my mother says.

Well said. Like Granny used to say when I was wishing to be old enough for this or that, “You’re foolish to wish your life away.”

Exactly! That is so true. We need to stop and enjoy the moments we are in and who we are with. XOXO – Bacon

Great poem Bacon…I remember when I was truly dying because I had Cancer….I was only 28-29 yrs old. Once I had surgery & got treatment & recovered I decided ‘no more dying’ to do anything else…it was a HUGE wake up call…..
This July 4th (yes Independance Day) it will 30 yrs since the surgery!
I am glad to be alive 😉

I let myself get sicker & sicker Bacon…I went from 153 lbs to 110 lbs & could not keep any food down. I KNEW how sick I was & had been in denial as I was married to my hubby Paul who was a total Quadriplegic. I tried to carry on as if nothing was wrong. DENIAL. It was stupid & almost cost me my life!
I had exploratory surgery 3 weeks b4 the actual surgery; it was a risk but the Surgeon said I had run out of time….
I will never do something THAT stupid again!
After surgery I was a mere 106 lbs & could wear a Large T-shirt as a dress!
It took me years to put the wwight back on. I was truly blessed to have survived.
Love Sherri-Ellen ❤

I am so glad I got myself looked at & fixed & that G-D saw fit to let me live…
If I would ahve been told I would have so many friends around the world from blogging I would never have believed it!!!! Life is a magical journey isn’t it??

I have gone thru so much in my life (that I do not speak about here).
The best part of the past is I got help & counselling & I have become the woman I was meant to be.
Thankfully I never have to go back to the ‘old days’ of abuse; neglect; Cancer…
I am so glad we are friends also.
I find my WP closer to me than family in so many ways. Your love & support have helped me more than you will know esp. when Nylablue left us 😉
(((hugs))) & ❤ Sherri-Ellen

I totally agree June!
I have a blog friend from the UK who calls me once a month to talk for an hour or so. I have adopted her as my Sister & she calls me her Sister too.
I talk MORE with that lady than my Sister….go figure…
we are provided for even when we do not understand how or why…

It is the simple things in life that matter the most to me. I agree that some times we all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget to slow down and enjoy it. When I lost my favorite brother-n-law years ago, I think that is when it really hit me hard. He was 50 years old, a tri-athlete, and he got cancer. Enjoy each day, I agree, and don’t worry about things that you have no control over. LOVE LIFE!

The past is history,
The future not guaranteed
But there is today and that is a gift.
This is why we call it the present!
