Pay it Forward – Did You Miss Your Chance? Mark Your Calendars
DON’T FORGET – REMINDER!
Hey my dear sweet friends. I was recently talking to my friends at Nikitaland about paying it forward. This is something that stemmed from mom’s article that she wrote on living with disabilities. If you missed that article, please read it here. It is well wroth a read!
Paying it forward is is something that we want to start in the new year of 2015. You know the old saying of, “Do onto others as you want them to do onto you?” Well, let’s put it in action in 2015. Every month on the first Wednesday of the month, I’m going to host Pay it Forward with my friends from Nikitaland.
Paying it forward is simple. You do something for someone out of the blue, not asking for anything in return just because you can. It’s little things that count. Karma comes around for all of us.
Here are a few examples:
- Pay for the person behind you at a drive thru – could be as simple as a cup of coffee or breakfast.
- Help someone take their groceries to their car at the grocery store.
- Give extra as a tip to your waiter/waitress.
- Visit a elderly neighbor and spend some time with them. Read to them or bring them lunch. Listen to them as they talk.
- Pay for the person behind you at a toll booth.
- Put money in a parking space for someone whose time is getting close to expiring.
- Make a donation.
- Cook lunch or dinner for a neighbor in need.
- Offer to babysit for free to a couple who needs a night out.
See, it’s the little things that count that make the most. Just being there for someone to see their smile can bring great karma your way. So in the new year of 2015 – let’s Pay it Forward.
You have an entire month to Pay it Forward. Do little things. We will meet back here on my blog on March 4, 2015 to post about what we have done and how we have touched someones life in 2015. I hope this inspires you my friends ❤
And this is from my mom my friends:
“Did you miss your chance today to Pay it Forward? These cold winter months are known for making people feel depressed and lonely. One *never* knows when someone might need a little pick me up and YOU might be the only reason they have for that day in making it to the next day. Not to bring you down my friends but depression exists. I’ve been there and I’m sure others have as well. It was living one day to the next when only a smile meant the biggest thing to me. Paying it Forward doesn’t have to involve money – it can involve a little kindness. Make small talk to someone that looks lonely, someone on the street, on the bus or standing in line. Make people feel like they are needed in this world and bring YOU happiness. It doesn’t a lot to make someone matter and feel wanted. So this month, let’s give a little extra. If you do have the money to spare, buy someone a cup of coffee, a small treat to leave on someone’s desk at your job or on their mailbox or doorstep. It doesn’t have to be a lot. Just something to show I care. Thanks my friends!”
Another Hint About Mom/Dad’s Trip
Oh friends! This hint about floored me – literally. I snorted and rolled with laughter. Tell me it’s not so! Creamed Possum with Sweet Potatoes Garnished in Coon Fat Gravy. This can’t be real, can it?
This is my next hint about where mom/dad are going to meet one of MY friends later on in the month. Oh dear piggy heavens. Mom/dad said you just might find this can on the shelf of a grocery store where they are going.
Really? Are they serious? Oh dear. I think I would starve that weekend. But mom says they are going to eat well – in fact they are hoping to go in with who they are meeting and do a special critique on her food blog. Tell me it won’t be on this can.
So mom/dad are meeting MY friend at the end of the month. They will spill the beans when they get back. You might get one more hint before they leave. IF I can find a good one because mom/dad says I absolutely can NOT tell yet. 🙂 Do you want another clue? Let me know and I’ll see what I can do for you.
