On January 1, 2015, I shared with all of you my friends about the story my mom wrote on living with disabilities. You can read about it here if you missed it. It was really something that comes close to our hearts here at the Hotel Thompson. We deal with problems every day that have now become second nature to us. Well, the article got published in one of our local newspapers here – The Clayton News Daily. Squeals to the high heavens! You can click on here to be taken to the news article.
So much fun! We were all so excited for mommy here at the Hotel Thompson. If you haven’t read it, please do my friends! Have a great day!!

Congratulations to your mom for getting her article published. It was very well-written but I am a bit disappointed that the paper did not recognize your mom with a credit.

😦 Supposedly they have a problem on line with that but it did post in the actual paper 🙂 Thank you for your kind comments – I know she will appreciate that. XOXO – Bacon

Can you get me a copy of the newspaper with this article? I would like to have that page framed! I would like the actual news print page! You have my address now!
How did the newspaper find out about your article? Did someone contact you? Very neat to see it published, it was a really good article!

aaww – snorts 🙂 I’m still trying to get more copies of the newspaper itself. Thanks for your kind comments. Mommy said that she *had* to write this article because she got frustrated one night when her and dad went out. She was so frustrated, she typed it out in like ten minutes. She then calmed down and tweaked it. She contacted the editor of the paper and the published it. She might be doing some more 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

Oh boy, if you can snag me an original newsprint copy of your article, I want to frame it! Some times, writing when you are frustrated do make the best articles!

Ya!! A high five from Shoko, Kali and mom to Bacon’s dad. We did it!! We need more publicity my friend but what a start. It won’t change anything but with time comes changes in attitude. Great news…what a start to my day. Thanks friends.

Your mom wrote a great article. BRAVO! I had no clue how much things will be different or nearly impossible (like to walk alone through a bathroom in a restaurant, I so agree!) if you are visually impaired. We better don’t try to close your eyes and walk through my crib… Guess what? Your dad is a hero! And your mom too!
01/07/2015 at 1:42 pm
Hero huh? Well that does explain a certain pair of underwear he walks through the crib with – does your dad do the same? I’ve been meaning to ask you brother – snorts and rolls with laughter. Hopefully mom will be writing some more about living with disabilities. We shall see 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

This is so well deserved:) You are very blessed to have such awesome parents! I have a 93 years young neighbor that has a eye disease that slowly takes vision (can’t spell it right now) the only way you know about it is she has to very close to see your face.Heck she comes and picks her own greens.Amazing to me that with people can have such huge spirits.I do not know if could be so strong..Tell Mom to write more for us.Your Alabama fan.PS one little problem: her food blog makes me drool 😉

Snorts – I’ll tell you a secret my sweet friend. Her food blog makes *me* drool – 🙂 Thanks for your kind comments. My mom and me really appreciate that. Dad is like any other dad but he has a few challenges with his vision. But do you know what they say about when one sensory is not working others pick up? Well let me tell you – that man hears everything – double snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Snorts – way to go ducks! Ask for extra marshmallows 🙂
When daddy cranked Albert this morning for mom, it was 12 degrees outside. 12 DEGREES! We live in the south and that is C.O.L.D. Mommy had to put on her big coat with the hood. bbrrr – I watched her go to the car from the warmth of the front door. No way! XOXO – Bacon
