It Made the Paper!

On January 1, 2015, I shared with all of you my friends about the story my mom wrote on living with disabilities.  You can read about it here if you missed it.  It was really something that comes close to our hearts here at the Hotel Thompson.  We deal with problems every day that have now become second nature to us.  Well, the article got published in one of our local newspapers here – The Clayton News Daily.  Squeals to the high heavens!  You can click on here to be taken to the news article.

So much fun!  We were all so excited for mommy here at the Hotel Thompson.  If you haven’t read it, please do my friends!  Have a great day!!

pay-it-forwardToday marks the start of our blogging “Pay It Forward” Campaign. Good deeds is what Pay It Forward is all about. You do a good deed for someone, just because. You ask for nothing in return, you just do something nice for someone today and make their day special. It’s the little things in life that matter the most.

I am working with my good friend Bacon over at Pig Love to get our Pay It Forward campaign off and running. We are firm believers that by doing good deeds for someone is what this world needs more of. You know the saying “treat others the way you would like to be treated”. Let’s put that into action! Pay it Forward – Mark Your Calendars

Hey my dear sweet friends.  I was recently talking to my friends at Nikitaland about paying it forward.  This is something that stemmed from mom’s article that she wrote on living with disabilities.  If you missed that article, please read it here.  It is well wroth a read!

Paying it forward is is something that we want to start in the new year of 2015. You know the old saying of, “Do onto others as you want them to do onto you?”  Well, let’s put it in action in 2015.  Every month on the first Wednesday of the month, I’m going to host Pay it Forward with my friends from Nikitaland.

Paying it forward is simple.  You do something for someone out of the blue, not asking for anything in return just because you can.  It’s little things that count. Karma comes around for all of us.

Here are a few examples:

Pay for the person behind you at a drive thru – could be as simple as a cup of coffee or breakfast.

Help someone take their groceries to their car at the grocery store.

Give extra as a tip to your waiter/waitress.

Visit a elderly neighbor and spend some time with them.  Read to them or bring them lunch.  Listen to them as they talk.

Pay for the person behind you at a toll booth.

Put money in a parking space for someone whose time is getting close to expiring.

Make a donation.

Cook lunch or dinner for a neighbor in need.

Offer to babysit for free to a couple who needs a night out.

See, it’s the little things that count that make the most.  Just being there for someone to see their smile can bring great karma your way.  So in the new year of 2015 – let’s Pay it Forward.

You have an entire month to Pay it Forward.  Do little things.  We will meet back here on my blog on February 4, 2015 to post about what we have done and how we have touched someones life in 2015.  I hope this inspires you my friends ❤
