Now *That* is a Dilemma

12 Jun

I need help.  Stop laughing.  I really need help.  I’m in a piggy dilemma.  Me and mom are both feeling the same way.  Have you ever felt hungry and wanted something but you just didn’t know what you wanted?  You have choices – lots of choices.  You pick one and afterwards you’re like ick.  It just didn’t stop the craving… not that you’re craving anything particular.

Mom and dad go through this scenario all of the time here at the Hotel Thompson.  It goes something like this.  Mom – “What do you want to eat?”  Dad – “I don’t know, you?”  Mom – “You want mexican?”  Dad – “Not so much, you?”  This back and forth of suggestions goes on what seems like hours.  And then dad will finally say, “I don’t care, whatever you want to do.”  This is usually followed up by mom saying, “Whatever you want to do.”  For Pete’s sake – can those two humans make a decision?  Snorts.

So then mom will toss a salad.  I’m good with a salad but then afterwards we are all like, “Hhhmm, that really didn’t hit the spot.”  This can go on for days!  What are we to do?  What do you do?   So you see, that’s why it’s a dilemma.

We are all foodies here at the Hotel Thompson.  We take our food serious.  Life is way too short not to.  Heck, mom is not one of those girly girls that can eat a Saltine cracker and be filled for days.  I’m proud of mom for being an eater.  But what do you do when you don’t know what will hit “the spot?”

I think personally we may have one way to solve this dilemma.  Go with me on this.  If we had a full time CHEF that was on staff here at the Hotel Thompson at our beck and call that fed us our meals, we wouldn’t have this back and forth what do you want for dinner situation.  Mr. Chef would just whip up his specialties and serve us.  We wouldn’t have to cook therefore it would be awesome.  Cause you know, food *always* tastes better when someone else cooks it.  Am I right?

And of course, we would ALL be happy – especially this oinker.  Because then I would have a 24X7 beck and call chef.  OH that’s right.  I already do in mom and dad – snorts.  But really, what do you think?  Wouldn’t it be totally awesome?

I wonder if dad would go for this?  hhmm – I gotta go leave some clues around the Hotel Thompson.  Maybe eventually by 2025 he’ll get the hint.

Happy Eating my Friends!!  P.S.  Whatta you having tonight for dinner?

We have the same story in our house. Mom will ask dada in the morning what he would like for dinner and inevitably he will say “I don’t know, whatever you want” it drives her crazy mainly because she does all the cooking and some days she just needs a little help or some inspiration. Last night they had baked gnocchi – mom found the recipe on Pinterest and she says it’s a keeper.

That’s it exactly! Mommy does all of our cooking here as well. It’s an endless battle of what do you want – no what do you want scenario. Kind of like watching the movie Groundhog day over and over. XOXO – Bacon
P.S. Gnocchi sounds good… I’m not sure what it is but that name intrigues me – snorts

YES it does! Of course with me, I’m thankful for anything and everything. It doesn’t matter to this little oinker. I’m always up for anything that mommy wants to fix me – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Snorts – that sounds like a plan. Mommy fixed daddy a scrambler this morning for breakfast. She said it had eggs and cheese and something else that should couldn’t tell me. It kind of smelled slightly familiar though – I just couldn’t place it. XOXO – Bacon
P.S. pass me an oreo please ? 🙂

What a great idea Cousin! A personal chef…….I think it makes a lot of sense…instead of sitting trying to decide on ONE thing to share – ask for whatever you want and the Master Chef can whip it up for you like you do something more fun like watch TV. No more long hours in the kitchen….no more grocery shopping…slaving over a hot stove….I think I’m going to add “Personal Chef” to my Christmas wish list. Why not?

    Hugs, Sammy

Amen cousin!! I think it would be a wonderful delightful addition to the Hotel Thompson. Just think of how much time mom could save and be with me more? I love that idea. I think Santa is going to be busy this year filling all of our Christmas lists of a Chef – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

I think you raised one of the Biggest Questions of Life! We always face problems like
    – I’m off my feed.
    – It is all the same to me.
    – I don’t know.
    – Nothing sweet. No pork. No chicken. No potatoes. No rice. No…
    – It’s too complicated.
    – It’s too simple.

I know that feeling… you need something, you want it and you even can taste it on your tongue… and you have NO clue what you really want :o) my dad’s answer on that question is always “Spaghetti” (boah! boring!). Then mom starts something what we call “experimental cooking” and where we cook something what’s totally new or something what could be the one what we really want. Or if we have a lazy day, we nibble on all things we can find till we have 87k calories in our tummies while we are as hungry as before :o)

My crazy humans are doing a juice cleanse right now. Daddy’s just doing one day, but Mommy’s doing three. She loves it, because she doesn’t have to think about what to cook . . . just reach into the refrigerator six times a day and pull out a juice bottle. I don’t like it one bit because I miss the samples that she sneaks to me while she’s making “real” food in the kitchen.
